I realize this is "short notice", but sometimes that's the best way to do things.
I am organizing a SparkPortland team walk on Sunday, April 29, at 11:00 a.m.
We will meet at the Salmon St. Springs fountain in Tom McCall Park. That's right, we're taking the Waterfront by storm!tinyurl.com/7qfw8ke
That link will take you to a Google maps page showing you Salmon St. Springs. There are stairs that lead down to the landing area for the Portland Spirit. We'll be lingering between the fountain and the steps - pacing, even!
Parking downtown is free on Sundays, so you shouldn't have trouble having to pay for a spot.
We'll walk from the park, down to the Steel Bridge, across, down the Eastbank Esplanade, across the Hawthorne Bridge, and back to the fountain. That's approximately 2.8 miles - just shy of a 5K. If you're feeling frisky and froggy, we can take on an extra few tenths of a mile to make it a full 3 miles, or 3.1. Up to you.
I sure hope you can join us. Bill and I will be there ready to walk. Don't worry about being too slow. We'll go at a comfortable pace for EVERYONE, and no walker will be left behind. We're not in it to win it, just to get out and move and enjoy our beautiful city with other Sparkers!
If you'd like to join us, let us know!
If you'd like my cell number to call or text for directions or information, send me a Spark Mail!
If you can't make it this time, keep an eye out for other walks - they'll be coming soon!
If you'd like to organize a SparkPortland walk in YOUR neighborhood or area, please do so!
Let's get to steppin', Portland!
