My eating has totally been revamped. At over 3 years out, I can tolerate some Romaine lettuce, so I try to fit in one or two a day with protein added. Lots of protein, less salad actually.
No bread, cookies or sweets for me. I get horrible gas etc. I'm also lactose intolerant, but I was before the surgeries.
I'll have a Wasa crisp with peanut butter if I want a treat. Some Almonds, cheese, turkey or ham rolled up.
I've just re-discovered Matzo ball soup. Two matzo's and a cup of soup is only 9 carbs. Great treat and filling.
In the beginning you feel you're invincible with the whole eating thing. No matter what you eat, you lose. But it doesn't last. It's taken me this long and all this re-gain to discover a plan I can live with and an understanding of how "I" have to eat to lose weight and stay healthy.
I low carb. High protein. Drink at least 2 protein shakes a day, sometimes 3. I find the shakes make sure I get in up too 100 grams of protein a day. Which I need because of the high level of malabsorption.
