My weekend is starting this Friday through Sunday.

I've got some issues with fluid and know that water intake will help some but also I must work on reducing the sodium. I've kind of let go of that for a while (denial).

So my weekend plan (including today)
1. FOCUS FOCUS on the sodium amounts in the foods I eat and maintain at least under 1500 -- the Dr. tells me 1000 and I maintained that for a while but if I can get to 1500 it will be much more healthy than what I've been doing.

2. 10-12 waters per day

3. Log all foods from Friday until Thursday -- my next TOPS weigh in.

my weekend plan:

To the gym hopefully by Sunday. I've had a week of just not feeling very well --- very low energy level. Took today off from work.

I did well with my plan last week of know snack chips --- will do that again this week -- even at the Oscar Party I'm going to on Sunday night.

Continue with my Lenten discipline of no sugary-dessert-type items.

Re-start tracking the food on either my TOPS food diary or Sparkpeople.

Saturday check in

Starting tomorrow I will allow myself up to 1 serving of diet pepsi 12oz didn't do this today --- I had 2 --- 20oz bottles -- 1 with caffeine and 1 without

intake of 8-10 waters per day --- about to reach 8 --- about 1/2 the glass to go

My plan is to stay at the low end of my calorie range (about 1500) because I don't think I'll be exercising the next couple days. didn't make this either but was about a little over 1700.

Will work the plan again tomorrow.

I was thinking today -- this thread goes so well with my thinking about planning.

if I fail to plan -- I plan to fail.

Weekends are that time that I sometimes fail to plan. As I've mentioned here -- I find less structure on the weekends.

This weekend:
continue on my streak of diet pop reduction
increased water intake up to at least 8
track food intake
focus on FRESH this weekend -- fresh fruits, veggies
go to the gym one day over the weekend instead of 2 -- I've had a busy weekend and feel I deserve a break.

Treat myself to some cut flowers from the grocery store as my "reward" for January weight loss.

I want to go light this weekend -- lots of fresh veggies and fruits emoticon

snacks in the evening - maybe some cereal or microwave popcorn (I've been buying 100 cal packs) emoticon

to the gym each day emoticon -- suppose to be nice -- might get out on the bicycle for a ride

I kind of a neat challenge we used at our TOPS Chapter. It was kind of a adapted challenge from a team I'm on.

We called it boot camp. I have a spreadsheet I can send out.

You got a point for your water, keeping a food diary got you a daily point. Then a points for weight loss.

You can do it and "award" winners per week or per month.

I'm not sure how this challenge thread works. I feel that anything that gets you through the weekend a little smoother is great.

But I'd be willing to have more structured challenges for the weekends.

Love the idea here. But where did you come up with your challenges? create them for yourself? I, too. am a member of TOPS 30?? I forget the number. But our meetings are Tuesday nights in Rising Sun, MD. Honestly--we all seem to be at a "stand still". Any helpful challenge ideas will be very appreciated & shared with my TOPS members. Any help out there?? Thanks.

check in ... after the weekend

2. work outside and/or get to the gym depending on amount of time working outside -- done
3. Sunday -- Church and special afternoon service -- done
4. Relaxation -- no working out -- took a nap today (Sunday) -- took a day of rest from exercise --- heading to the gym before work Monday morning.
5. Food within reduced calorie range -- lots of veggies and fruits both days. Done!

I had a good weekend as well.

But want to do more planning before the next weekend -- and also have my shopping done so that I can do well.

This is my birthday week -- and several people are wanting to do "food related" events as a "gift".

I rather have a card -- I won't eat it.

I will plan ahead as much as possible.

My co-workers are taking me out this Wednesday -- I know where I'm going and what I can order.

Weekends are my biggest challenge,
especially payday weekend.

Eating out is our only activity, usually, except
church on Sat. night. I really don't know if I
want to do anything about it, except I regain all my loss and ruin
all my hard work during the week, so it is very discouraging. Now
ds27 is living here and we go out to eat with him weekends.

This weekend, I have an out-of-town meeting, so will be gone most of Sun.
dh's work party is tomorrow night, steak, baked potato, etc.

It's been awhile since I have done the weekend accountablity but for some reason if I put in in writing then I will keep thinking about it. So here goes..... this weekend I will stay busy and not sit around the house and eat all weekend. No snacking!!

walk at least 2 miles
journal food and keep in calorie range
and try to enjoy the family time together...my brother tends to be a pain....and sometimes I just want to walk out the door especially when he is soooo negative about my kids!

My plan for the weekend is to work out Saturday at the Y. Sunday the Y is closed. I will do strength training with my new exercise bands/tubes. Hopefully the weather will be go and I'll go out working or maybe get the bike out.

I'm working Saturday evening at a TOPS fund raiser. We are providing food for the Bingo hall for the month of March. I'll be there about 5-6 hours. I will take a bag lunch for my meals and avoiding eating hot dogs or any of the other "stuff". It will be easier for me to stay on track.

I'll be home most of the weekend by myself and I plan to eat very healthy and stay well below my calorie budget.

I'll check back in Monday.

Just thinking aloud....

Dale and I are going to Albuquerque this weekend. Just a little outing to get away for a while.

Hopefully I can stay on track and not over do with the eating. I've been doing this long enough that I should be able to make healthy choices without even thinking about it. But that just doesn't seem to happen.

I know I'm an emotional eating (happy, sad, any emotion). I just need to learn to not turn to food on these occasions.

Plan.....eating a healthy breakfast to start out the day, not skipping meals, eat light meals and no snacking on junk food. Drink plenty of water. emoticon

Well I made a plan and succeeded. I did not give into temptation. I have a cookie I brought home for son, which he has not eaten and neither have I. I didn't not have anything sweet, I stuck to the menu plan and did it. I may have had a little extra meat but did not over indulge and get off track like I normally do. SparkPeople has really helped me get focused. I made it through my first weekend without any problems. I feel good and I will continue. Hope every one had a great weekend. Let you know how weigh in goes on Tuesday night.

Well...

I didn't commit to a plan for this weekend. In fact I failed to plan for Saturday. Most of you know my thoughts on that ... if I fail to plan = I plan to fail.

Yesterday evening I just really got into snacking and had 4 glasses of wine. I did really plan to have some wine.

I don't think I caused much problem with weight loss. I was looking at my minutes for Friday through today and it was 240 minutes. Today I've kept my calories very low. Eating a lot of fresh veggies.

The good thing - I feel very much on track even with a little side track last night.

The dreaded weekend. This is were I usually fail. But not this weekend I am really focused and going to try very hard. I usually fall of the wagon because I have free access to the fridge and cupboards. Free rein on food. But I will control myself. I have come to far and succeeded yesterday not giving in to temptation. I can do it this weekend. I will let everyone know how I do. I wish everyone luck for the weekend.

Weekend check-in.

Sorry didn't check back in yesterday.

My weekend went very well, I think, especially for being my birthday weekend.

Sunday I didn't work out as planned do some dizziness. I'm not sure what caused it but it went a way. Maybe some sinus problems, inner ear or something.

But over all the food and exercise went well.

This weekend I plan to stay within my calorie limit. I will do this by writing down everything I eat (something I haven't done in a long time).

Tomorrow I will take a 30 minute walk as long as the weather permits. I went to Curves today (first in two weeks). It felt good to be exercising again. emoticon

Well the weekend is upon us again.

I have to have a plan if I'm to make it through this weekend. emoticon

Part of this posting is "thinking out loud".

This is my birthday weekend. emoticon I have first one and then another wanting to take me here or there for dinner or something for my birthday. emoticon I wish I'd have had the forethought to let people know that I just want to share time with them for my birthday.

emoticon Tonight: probably dinner out -- where ever I go I will probably have steak or a burger. I will try to estimate it to about 4oz. I will have green veggies instead of fries, no appetizers, no bread and water to drink.

emoticon Saturday and Sunday I'm thinking about having a late breakfast and then planning a nice snack for lunch and then having dinner each night. emoticon

Tomorrow night I will probably have about 4-5 glasses of wine. One challenge I was presented with for the month was look at the month and plan about 3 days that I might have 500 extra calories. For me -- tomorrow might be my "500 extra calories" day. Both days I plan to work out at the YMCA.

I will have at least 12 glasses of water Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I will check in Sunday night/Monday morning with my results. emoticon emoticon

I have SparkPower :) .... not will power.

It really goes some down to me having a "plan". Most of you have probably seen me post and my tagline ... "if I fail to plan ... I plan to fail.

That's why I like the Weekend Accountability and Challenge thread. Weekends can be tough for me. Less structured than my work days. So I can do my planning right here and knowing I'm going to come back and report in -- helps me keep the commitment to SELF and to my team mates.

Thanks for the compliment on the bunny costume. I'm in a challenge and our team has a bunny name. I figure I'm the Bald Hare :)

Hope everyone's weekend is going well.

I'm doing well. It's 6pm on Sunday and I feel very positive about the weekend.

Yesterday I worked at a TOPS fund raiser. We do the food for a bingo hall each Saturday in March. I made about 120 hot dogs with fixin's yesterday -- about 6 hours of standing and delivering hot dogs to the front window. I took some healthy snacks and had a plan not to get into unhealthy foods. I am pleased to say that I stayed within my plan for the day.

Yesterday and today I pretty much doubled my minutes of exercise. Food has been under goal range both days.

Look forward to hearing how everyone did over the weekend.

It is already the weekend and I Packed my food for my overnight shift and notice it is pretty much carbs! The good news is, I walked 55 mins on the treadmill which is the most I have ever done. My game plan from here is to exercise (treadmill) both Saturday and Sunday and go grocery shopping when I am NOT hungry and buy some veggies/protein.

It was a tough weekend...ate too much! I worked nights and that doesn't help...but I just gave notice over at the convent so I am hoping that helps, no more nights!

I didn't exercise at all on sunday...but i got over 6 miles on sat.

I had a good weekend. In part because I took the time to PLAN. For me having a plan is the biggest hurdle. If I make a plan and especially jot it down - I seem to "remember" that I have planned some things. If I feel I don't have a plan it's easier to "go off in another direction".

I'm thankful today for this thread and plan on visiting again this coming Friday. emoticon

Yep another weekend is here:

so I will focus on journal/calories...cardio..mostly walking because it is going to be a nice weekend and water.

goals: journal and stay in my calorie range of 1350 to 1730..(i think) both days
Walking at least 4 miles each days/and 10 or more min of step aerobics daily

Hey Candy....we all have days like that...so just remember today is a new day!


My weekend goals:

drink my water/tea...at least 8 cups total.
journal my food/watch my portions and limit my sweets to just 1 small serving a day.
walk 7-10 miles over the 3 days.

Friday:
I drank 10 cups of water/tea
I journaled and did pretty good with my protions...no sweets.
But no walking done.

Saturday:
I drank 8 cups water
I journaled my food...did okay with my eating, I did have pie, but was pretty careful with the rest of my calories
walked 2.5 miles

Sunday:
1 drank 6 cups water/tea
I journaled my food but my choices were not real good...definitely went over on my calories
walked 5 miles total for the weekend: 7.5

oh my goodness,

Wow this last week has gone by fast...probably because I only have to work 3 and 1/2 days. So I really start my weekend today...I love the 3 day weekend but it also tends to be a struggle with my eating/exercise habits.

so for the next 3 days:

drink my water/tea...at least 8 cups total.

Judy, I just noticed all your posts here and think it is great that you are doing so well planning your weekends! I seem to be doing great with my exercise and water, but tracking the food - NOT. So, I will take a tip from you to track my food and watch what happens.

okay so on to sunday.

breakfast was french toast strips and banana...400 cal

lunch will be 6 in subway sub...ch and bacon ranch with lots of veggies

supper...I believe my son will be making some Hamb helper...so got to do portion control and veggies.

snack...fruit and milk

Exercise:

yesterday I did 4 miles walking
today I will get at least 2-3 miles

How I did for Saturday

Bkft: 1 cup cheerios..1/2 cup skim milk...2 tsp sugar and a banana (about 300cal)

Lunch: slimfast and 1 cup broccoli (about 240 cal)

Supper: 3 oz ch breast/1 c green beans/1/2 fruit cocktail (250 cal)

At work: Healthy choice meal/yogurt/1/4 c melon (450cal) and 1/4 cup fiber one cereal (dry) 45cal and 1 cup hot cocca (110)


total cal 1395...pretty good for me. I usually have a hard time with the cookies and ice cream at work..bordom eating.

Okay the weekend is here again. this is my plan for saturday:

breakfast:
cereal/milk
banana

Lunch:
slimfast and veggies

Supper:
chicken breast
veggies
fruit...apple

Mid afternoon snack:
Yogurt

This adds up to about 800-900 calories but I have to work all night and I have to eat there too...so saving some calories for work

going to have a lean cusine/fruit and I can have a mini popcorn and a cup of hot cocca if I really need a sweet. so this adds on about 550-600 calories...so that comes out to about 1500-1600 calores...I should be okay.

Did 35 mins on recumbant bike. Eating better today. Turkey sandwich, blueberries and diet jello for late lunch. Unsalted peanuts for a snack. Evenings are the hardest,however.

Hello! and the weekend is here. I will continue my food journalling and work on getting at least 6 miles of walking done over the two days. Also will drink at least 2 cups of water before I have my coffee.

This Sat. I will get out and walk. Sundays are my days off for exercising. I committ to not eating because I am bored. Instead I will get up and work on a project (probably sewing).

Yeah, weekends are a real challenge, and I'm retired! It still seems, because my routine is different on weekends that I feel I can relax my eating habits.

Thanks for this new thread. Usually if I'm going to have problems it's on the weekend. I'll use this to make my "commitment" or plans for the weekend and then can "report" back on Mondays.

This weekend.. which starts a new month :) I will not go over my calorie range either day..sat or sun.. I will also drink my water and walk, weather permitting.. Barb
