potty training is not fun on a good day or any other day

lol, I didn't even look at the date on the first post!
Well I am glad things are well now! My dogs and cat sleep in bed too! Sometimes it gets a little crowded but we make due!

Puppy, Boone, is all trained now. When we were having the potty training problem we ended up putting him in the outside kennel for the night. We did it for about 4 days and then tried letting him stay inside again. Suddenly he was potty trained!! We did buy a crate for him and started putting him in it at night. He learned the crate well and was doing great. For some reason we started letting him sleep in bed and that's where he stays now...in the bed. We love it. Letting the dog sleep in bed is not for everyone but we don't mind. We actually like the snuggling that goes on. Even the cats don't seem to mind the dog in bed anymore.

Hi

first and foremost until you pup is trained outside time should be about potty. no playing or distractions. if he doesn't go in the first 5 minutes or so take him in and try again in a little bit BUT don't let him run around the house til he goes. You can either attatch his leash to your belt or put him in a crate until he does go.
Potty time should be as soon as he wakes up, as soon as he stops playing, 15-20 minutes after eating or drinking.
It is also recommended to take him out on a leash and go to the same place in the yard everytime. Other's have suggested when he does have an accident in the house, take the paper towel you clean it up with outside and place it where you want him to go.

My new puppy is not doing well with house training. We take him out multiple times a day, every couple of hours and we spend a great deal of time outside waiting for him to go. He might go and then he might not. Often after we take him out and he doesn't go he comes in and uses my bedroom for his bathroom!!!!! He is not consistent with his going to the bathroom outside. Because of this we have had to relegate him to the outside kennel at night and he definitely doesn't like it. Any suggestions?????
