I found TruLemon at my local Walmart so I decided to try that. Seems to have worked ok so far, I also added some fresh lemon juice for a little extra kick and used splenda, they smell awesome. I also made this batch with some whole wheat flour, they came out much "fluffier" than the oat flour I made. I'm not sure yet how that changes the recipe, but I'll have to figure that out.

I hit the jackpot for non-aspartame drink products too. Apparently Super Walmart/Walmart Superstores are the place to go. Needless to say I stocked up on some different flavors and different brands.

Good to know thanks!

I think I am going to try to cut down on the "sweetner" and try the 4c this weekend. I like the ones I have, but sometimes they have that artificial sweet taste that I can't stand. I also plan on picking up some chocolate protein to make the chocolate bars again, taste wise I think that will add more of a choco kick. They are great either way though and a really enjoyable way to get your protein.

The 4C worked great for me, but I cut the splenda down a bit. And it was perfect. It is DH's favorite.

I'd be interested to know if the True Lemon turned out well. If so, I'd probably try to make Lime Bars as well (yummy). I made the Crystal Light version (had aspartame) and I like them, but they have that funky aftertaste. I don't mind the taste of Splenda at all, so I might see if I can find the 4C around here, if not Amazon has some good deals on it.

Either way they were still really good. Has anyone tried Stevia or Stevia in the raw instead of Truvia or Splenda?

I used 4C totally light and it worked great. The only thing is I think splenda has aspartame in it.

Thanks! I wonder if True Lemon would work. I will have to check the ingred, when I get home tonight.
edit to add: I found 4C totally light 2 go, and its sweetened with splenda. I am going to try that.

Yes, same here. I have the Crystal Lite "naturals". I've only seen them by the single packets, though, so that's what I buy. Her recipe takes 4 single packets for the lemon flavor. Here is a link to show what the product looks like:

I found a natural Crystal Light that uses Truvia instead of Aspartame. It says New on the box, so maybe your store doesn't carry it yet? It was the only one on the whole shelf without Aspartame.

What are you all using for the lemon ingredient. I know Jamie Eason is using a Crystal Light tub. BUT her recipe says one with No Aspertame..........I checked the label at the store and all the ones on the shelf including crystal light has aspertame. What are you all using, because I am confused?
