The one is the quantity. You want one jar of salsa that contains 24oz. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

I have been staring at a recipe now for 20 minutes trying to figure out what they mean... it says:
1 24-oz. jar medium tomato salsa.
1 15.5-oz can pinto beans.

I know an ounce is 28 grams... but what is the "1" in front? It can't be a pound, because that is about half a kilo, and the recipe is only for 4 people... enlighten me please! :-)
