Wow, can you believe this month is almost done? I'm still hovering 3 pounds over my goal weight....but the increase seems to have stopped, and I'm bouncing around 128. We're going to the Tetons next week, will be doing some mountaineering, so I'm not going to sweat it just yet! But when I get back I'll focus more on getting back to 125 in August. I think it will be easier to work on the marathon training and eating right after the time off is done.

Any one else still working on their July goals? How is it going?

Monday was Gummy Worm day, so the boss brought in gummy worms and pudding w/ them, I did enjoy those, even though I'm not really into that kind of candy....and then I slipped and had a chocolate from the candy jar! But that was Monday....Tuesday I did better, no candy jar, even though I was tempted, and I skipped the leftover pudding as well. My weight is still creeping up from this weekend though, so I need to figure out what's what with that! I suppose it could be inflammation, since I feel like my workouts are good, and my eating is OK. But OK may not be enough to bring it back down....we'll see!

Adlin, hope the knee feels better!

Lilorita, still working out?

Day 1 down on the chocolate. I feel like once I get a handle on things I can go back to my previous chocolate limitations - no candy, but I could do chocolate chip cookies, etc. If it in something, it was okay.

Did lunch walking, but knee was bothering me, so worked on other stuff tonight.

Well, we can't fix what we don't acknowledge, right?

Good for you on the chocolate! That would be very hard for me....but I've cut way, way back! Especially with the no candy dish at work part. I can pass on the non-chocolate stuff, but if there is chocolate (especially dark chocolate) watch out!

But my weight is headed back down again....I've been better about the food, and we ran over 90 minutes trail running yesterday, I think that helped a lot! Just need to keep this up.

We can do this! emoticon

OMG, Kayotic, we are so similar. I've had such a hard time doing my evening workouts (I workout at home with DVDs) because I'm exhausted. I know part of this is because with this job I have now, I'm getting home almost an hour later than I have for years. I've ordered a couple of 30 minute dvds and hope that helps, but when I have absolutely no focus I wonder how good the workout really is.

As for the candy, etc. At a job years ago I had that problem. I finally had to go cold turkey. In fact, since I've felt like crap the past week or so (maybe a hold over from the conference I went to about a week ago), I'm going to go chocolate free for Monday through Friday and see if there is a difference. I've noticed a difference with going mostly dairy free, so I'm curious. I've read we crave what we are allergic to, so I'm going to test it. It will be tough.

I've not tracked food in a while, but before the conference, my weight was the lowest it's been since the move a little over a year ago. I'm afraid to weight right now, because I know I need to get a handle on stuff.

So, my goal is to exercise 3-4 days a week (not counting my lunch walk which I aim for 5 days a week, weather permitting). I'm also going to try to track 3-4 days a week and of course, for this week, no chocolate. I also have a goal to be more balance in the evenings, which is why I've been on SP less these past couple of weeks.

Good for you, Lilorita, it's great that you can have better focus in the morning, and I bet it feels good to have it out of the way and done then too!

I really need to refocus on my eating here! I'm up 5 pound today, it's been creeping steadily over the past couple of weeks....way too many trips to the candy dish, and hitting the ice cream at night too, I just can't keep that up! So today I'm recommitting to my healthy choices. I have a good breakfast, lunch and snacks at work for the next 2 days, and will make good choices for dinner, and if I want a "treat" after dinner, I have lots of fruit to choose from!

And I'm running in to work the next couple of days, so I better get going!

Yes, KAYOTIC, I have been working out in the morning, because if I left it for later, my work outs are not effective because I am a bit rushed. I do my workouts first thing in the morning.

My run in to work this morning was really nice....Actually the walk home wasn't bad either, probably because it wasn't as hot as it's been here lately, and I really like the walk/hike I take home.

Lilorita, have you been working out in the morning then? I do find it to be a good time, and then I know it's done too. But my schedule doesn't always work out that way.

I'm also finding I'm eating too much at work. This didn't used to be my issue, but I think the new candy dish we have is doing me in! Too tempting, I suppose I should quit putting chocolate in there! When it's just Jolly Ranchers I have no problem passing it by....

You are so right KAYOTIC, I also like to workout first thing in the morning. Especially now that it is so hot, if I don't work out in the morning, I get so tired later in the day! emoticon

I was noticing today how much more difficult it is to feel motivated to hit the gym after working all day. I still did it, and I think if I didn't have this class I'm paying for I probably would skip the gym more often than not. Does anyone else find this to be true? I tend to be a morning person, and have lots of energy when I get up, and that usually lasts through noon, then I start to feel that energy lag.... Even with that, I still feel like I get a good workout in the evening, but I wonder if it would be even better in the morning. But then I get a lot of work done in the morning, so it's probably best for work that I have this schedule!

Just a random observation....

If you don't already do this, you can start by using the quick tracker to track your fruits and veggies. (and water!) I use that tool daily, and find it helps me get my minimum (I shoot for 7-10 servings daily) without much stress.

Keep posting your workouts too, that should help keep you going!

My weight held steady from yesterday, not up or down. I'm still shooting for bringing it back down a few pounds, but I'll take steady too.

My morning run was nice, it was great to have that done by 9am! Today I have my small group class, it doesn't start until 5:30pm, so no morning workout for me today!

I think I want to maintain my workouts, but I really need to track my nutrition;

So for the past few months I've been tracking my nutrition on Spark as my goal, but for July, I'm going to see how it goes just eating intuitively. So my goal is to stay at my current goal weight (125) while not tracking my food. I still plan to eat healthy, cook (especially batch cook on the weekend for lunches during the week) and workout. I'm also just getting started on my marathon training plan, since I have signed up for a marathon at the end of September.

So that's my plan for July!

Anyone else want to join me? emoticon

It's July! Halfway through 2013, are you staying focused?

What do you need to work on to stay on track, to get back on track, or to figure out what track you want to be on?

Are you maintaining? Trying to lose (or gain) back to where you want to be? Do you feel like you need to tighten up your nutrition or you fitness plan? Do you want to garden, cook, dance, or play more?

Pick a goal, and lets make it happen in July!
