My freggie count is good, 8 or 9 a day, sometimes I'm hitting 10...I did roll Monday and Weds at the gym after class. My left calf is feeling sore again, so I'll really have to pay attention to rolling again tonight. Planning on walking in to work today, now that all my errands are done!

I didn't track food yesterday, but I did today... had a little treat this afternoon, but managed to stay in range... need to catch up on my exercise tracking, but I'll get that done....

Yep, back to it, starting today! Ended up doing a lot of nothing yesterday....but we had workers at the house doing window repair, and the painting starts tomorrow!

I got my freggies in yesterday, but forgot to roll...well, I thought about it, and will roll at the gym after class today! That worked out last week...I think if I do that, I'll have a minimum of 2 days a week of built in rolling!

I am feeling better. And, yeah, I did pretty much curl up in a ball in a dark room for a good portion of the afternoon. Pretty much ended anything I thought about doing yesterday afternoon, made even more sad since it was absolutely gorgeous outside and it's been a while since we had a pretty day all day (w/out clouds and thunderstorms).

Sometimes heavy rest weeks are really good. My back is feeling a little better. I've been concentrating on Ellen Barrett dvds and yoga. I may look at some of my strength training ones and start throwing one of those in and see if I can start back to doing some more weight training (though two of my Ellen Barrett dvds use light hand weights).

Good for you getting in the rolling and the yoga. I know it's weird when you go from workout heavy weeks to very light weeks. Seems to throw off the balance. Hopefully you'll get back to your regular routine.

I ended up with 3 days last week of hitting my goal, freggies and rolling, so I'm OK with that.

Migraine, yuck! Hope you're feeling better today....those always make me feel so crappy, and not wanting to do anything but curl in a ball in a dark room...

I ended up not doing any exercise yesterday, which made it 3 total rest days for the week, and with 2 really light workout days, not a lot of calorie burning! Which may explain why my weight is up this week....but I'm going to tough it out, and just get back to my regular routine, now that I can!

No tracking yesterday or today. Sadly, today a near migraine hit and I lost a good part of the afternoon. Three hour haircut, which delayed lunch and didn't help. Better now.

I do have a short little yoga routine I do in the morning, but need to hit the Yoga journal site and print out some short morning routines. Basically, I have some disc issues and sometimes it just flares up. The rest help and this morning, I worked out before the haircut because I had some things to do this afternoon. Good thing I did.

Hopefully, back to food tracking tomorrow.

Hope your rest helps, do you take the time to warm up? Maybe get in a little stretch in the morning? That's when I try to do my yoga, for the most part.

Did OK w/ the freggies this week, my low day was 8 (yesterday), but not much rolling. I'll try to remember to do that tonight!

I can't believe it's Thursday. Happy that tomorrow is Friday, though. I've tracked food all week and have got workouts ready to enter. Back has been bothering me, so tonight was a day off, because while working out feels really good at the time (light workouts), I just seem to be stiffer in the mornings....

Yep, the busy starts today...but I did get my foam rolling in last night. I did nothing else for all practical purposes, but it was nice to have a rest day!

Too bad about the avocado...I hate it when that happens. We have a bunch right now, I had bought 2 of the 4 packs last time we were at Trader Joes, and then Larry bought another large one at WinCo yesterday, we are full up! Guess we'd better start using them!

I was sad to discover that the one avocado I had left was bad, so no avocado today. I think I did pretty good on food, though I didn't track. But, I'll be back at it tomorrow. Did workout and got some things done around the house.

Hopefully, you'll keep a balance next week -- sounds like you'll be really busy.

If they turn out good, let me know, I love avocados!

I made a quinoa recipe from the SparkPeople cookbook yesterday, which we took to the French Club meeting. It is gone now! Guess people liked it.

I got in 4 days of rolling, so feeling good there too! And yesterday I got in a 3rd day of resistance training on my own, so I felt good about that too.

This next week may be a bit on the crazy side...I have Friday off, and we're going on a site visit to another hospital Wednesday and Thursday, so I have Monday and Tuesday at work to get my weeks worth of work done! And will miss my group class on Wednesday....but I can do something like what I did yesterday so I think I should be able to work that out.

I just need to be aware of the potential issues, and plan ahead.

I did good on tracking food this week... got my four days. Sadly, I went over several days, but that's what I love about tracking... you can't hide from you're eating. Not that much over, but still not a good food week. Crazy at work too.

Then, I think I might have slightly pulled a muscle in my side, so I did compromise workout tonight... a short yoga workout rather than the longer one I do on Saturday. It's so hard to just not do something and I think the yoga helped stretch a bit, but not over do it.

I've got some avocado recipes that I'll move up the "give it a try" list...

I missed my rolling Tuesday, but did get it in yesterday at the gym, we did legs, and I really felt like I needed it!

Avocados have more potassium than bananas...but I suppose they aren't as easy to eat and definitely higher in fat. It's good fat though, so I just eat 'em up! (within reason...)

I do like avocados (one that has ripened in the fridge now), but didn't realize they were a source of potassium, though I knew they were good for me. I'll have to remember to put some on my lunch sandwich tomorrow.

Good for you on the rolling! I didn't work out last night (had to take kitty for a mani-pedi) and just took it easy. Tonight I worked out, but didn't track food today. Don't think it was too bad though.

No foam rolling last night, we had the neighbor over for dinner, and by the time she left, it was time for bed.....but I did get 9 freggies in. And I've already got 2 days of rolling this week, so off to a good start!

Avocados are great for potassium if you like those, I love them!

Also, don't know if you've tried the banana soft serve from SparkRecipes? It's sooooo good! Just frozen bananas in the food processor. I put some Greek yogurt and coconut milk in our last batch, then frozen strawberries for Larry, and almond butter and some chopped dark chocolate in mine....oh, so good! You need over ripe bananas, then peel and freeze.

Got my foam rolling in, last minute, I was getting tired and thinking of bedtime, then I realized I hadn't rolled, so out it came! That's 2 days in a row, I rolled Sunday night too....I should see if I can get a good streak going!

Good going on the tracking! emoticon

I'm exhausted reading about your Sunday, but how cool is that. My goal is yoga at twice a week and tonight was yoga 1 for the week. Felt good. I've noticed that my muscles are cramping, which I think means I need more water, which has been lacking lately. So, more water. I may risk bananas. I like them, but the fruit flies here are awful. I've never seen anything like it.

Tracked food tonight and did really well today, so happy about that also.

I foam rolled 3 times last week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. And again last night, starting the week off well! Getting in lots of freggies too...at least 8 each day, but 10 more often than not!

We did pretty much nothing on Saturday...it was so hot, by the time Larry was ready to head out, I was pooped....so we punted, and planned to head out earlier on Sunday, which we did! I got my yoga in the meadow, and we biked up to the top of Relay peak, my first time this year of actually biking the entire way up...no walking! Feeling strong! emoticon

Good for you on the foam rolling! I was a day short on my workouts last week, but still made 4 days, my minimum. And, of course, my mid-day walking when at work, so it's wasn't like I had days where I did nothing.

Meant to track food today, but I didn't, but overall I know it wasn't a bad day. Took my easy evening from earlier in the week and had a sorta lazy weekend.... it was nice. Did get workouts in each day, but I actually count that as part of the lazy part.

Tomorrow, it's back to to tracking the food.

I like to just take it easy sometimes....we had that kind of weekend last weekend, just stayed home and did practically nothing (or at least I did nothing, my boyfriend was a flurry of activity, he's fixing up the shed!).

Foam rolled again yesterday, emoticon and my calves already feel less tight. I think moving the roller did the trick, now I need to see if I can make it 3 days in a row....and my scale has been on the downswing, which makes me feel better about my eating too. It didn't hurt that my trainer ran us through our paces last night in my small group class, we were doing burpees, jumping over benches, speed ladder, one big sweat fest!

You're right about things involving avocado! I think maybe just a little salt and pepper and it would be fine, but I keep forgetting when I pack my lunch!

Good for you with the foam rolling... I just came home and took it easy tonight. But, I did track my food.

The avocado pasta salad sounds good, hope you can work out the flavor! There is no reason anything with avocado should be meh....

I actually foam rolled today! emoticon and I'm sure my calves will be happier tomorrow because of it....they were feeling pretty tight on the "hike" home. I stretched too. And I'm up to 7 freggies, so should be at least to 8 after dinner...

I've thought about salads. I've seen a method for building an entire salad in a mason jar and have thought about giving that a try, but for now, I'm trying some new side dishes to go with a small sandwich. Did a creamed avocado pasta salad. Meh, it's okay. I'm going to go back and see about the flavorings as it's slightly bland to me, but overall not bad.

Good for you with the roller. I failed when I tried to keep a written log of food... for whatever reason the SP tracker works for me and honestly, when I signed up for this site, almost 5 years ago, I never thought I'd successfully track food.

I did track today. I'm finding I'm going over and I think it's cause I'm craving junk, so I'm looking at my tracker carefully when I'm done to see what I've been eating.

That's too bad that you can't heat your lunch, that does limit options....but summer is great for salads!

I keep forgetting to foam roll.... emoticon so I've moved it to a more prominent location! Tonight I will roll!

Getting in lots of freggies....8 yesterday, so that part I feel good about, and the scale was better this morning. I'm really considering taking a page out of eatnboogers page and writing down my food, I'll see how this week goes, if the scale isn't cooperating like it was last month, that's where I'm headed!

Well, I took the weekend off from food tracking, but back at it today. Tried a couple of new recipes as I'm trying to switch up lunch, but it's got to be a cold lunch as I have no way to heat stuff. I see experimenting in my future.

I also had a good workout today, so making progress on the weekly goal.

If the scale doesn't start back in the right direction soon, I may start writing my food down too....I feel like I'm eating the right things, just maybe too much of them? Or not working out on the weekend is having an effect? At least we don't eat out so much when we're staying home!

I really need to set up a reminder about the foam rolling too....I'm doing really well with the freggie part (got in 10 servings again yesterday, and I think the low day for the week was only 7 servings...) but I've only rolled twice.

Nice job on sticking to it, Eatn!

So I feel like I'm making progress and sticking with things. I'm *writing* my food down, and it's keeping me conscientious about what I'm eating. I feel like I should be using the food tracker, but this is enough (judging from the scale). I also have my workouts figured and and scheduled. Woo hoo!

I hit 8 yesterday mostly veggies, as we are quickly running out of fruit in the house, time for a grocery run!

No foam rolling yesterday....but I would like to get in the habit of doing this daily for my calves, which get so tight. It's easy to do in front of the TV too, so I just need to start doing it. I think once it's a habit it will not be a problem.

I love my yoga, I feel out of sorts if I don't get it in, so go for it! For me, the more activity the better!

Go you with the fruits and veggies! I at times have really horrible eating habits, so the tracker is almost a must. It's the first one though that worked for me and I do have days off. However, my breakfast and lunches tend to be the same for days at a time with just a variation at dinner, so the copy features works really well for me. I have a few groups, but not a lot. Weight watches I think now allows unlimited fruits and veggies, so I've kinda been thinking in terms of that, though I do track, but it might be a way for me to increase both, which are really low right now.

I hear the foam roller is awesome. I've been very stiff lately, which was my clue that I really need to make sure I do at least two yoga sessions per week. Today was the 2nd one for the week and I believe my 5th workout for the week (not counting the walking I do at lunch when at work which is 5 days every week).

I hear you on having goals and challenges to keep you going, I'm the same way. I feel like the goals/challenges keep me in the mindset of maintenance, and self-improvement, and that's really my ultimate goal, which actually has no end date!

I do like the Spark nutrition tracker, and I think it is a really helpful tool, it just doesn't really work with my life right now, and I feel like for me I get a bit overly anxious about the tracking....and it makes me cranky! I don't really like that about myself, so I'm backing off of tracking (or trying to track) every morsel, and going more for making sure I'm choosing the least processed foods I can most of the time, and getting in lots of fruits and veggies. The quick tracker is great for that, and doesn't make me so crazy!

That said, I ended up with 10 fruits and veggie servings yesterday emoticon and I foam rolled my calves and legs last night while watching some Olympics....

Kayotic, part of what I said about tracking was about planning ahead, keeping track (on a sticky note--my phone isn't smart, either), and tracking at the end of the day (or the beginning). For me, just the planning and/or writing it down is incredibly helpful (for the mindfulness).

I need to have goals and challenges, or I slack, definitely.

I can't do a phone tracker, my phone isn't that smart, and I don't get reception at work, and don't have that kind of time there anyway....so any tracking I do is at home at night or in the morning....I also mix up my meals a lot, so the groups never worked for me that well. I know it has a lot of features that can work, but I still just find it too time consuming and it stresses me out.

I use the quick tracker though, all the time. since it's just arrows, it's easy to use, so it's really just a matter of actually eating those fruits and veggies!

I did OK yesterday, even though I didn't have time for lunch (5 meetings, 2 of which went way over time, thanks to the new boss....who really likes to hear himself talk) I did have a bit of a meltdown at dinner with the veggie ratio, but we worked it out.

I think a goal I really need to add is foam rolling, since my calves especially are really tight, so I am going to make that my goal for this month here...

Keep on tracking, it sounds like you really have it down, and maybe the scale will be fine if your clothes are fitting well?

About the tracker. Once you have groups or even the same meals.. it's easy as you just copy from one day to the next or pick the group. If just doing veggies and fruits, use the quick tracker which just tracks the number. The phone app isn't too bad either....

Tracking for me is almost vital. I'm sure I need to lose a few pounds, even though most clothes fit well... it just feels that way. I haven't, however, stepped on a scale to verify that.

I also need to really focus on at least 5 workouts (includes yoga) a week.

Great goals! I have so many challenges going on Spark right now, I'm trying to work toward simplifying the process.

In my yoga team, I have a 21 practices a month and daily meditation (which I thought would be a struggle, but I'm finding it to be very calming and centering....)

I have the cookbook challenge, of one new recipe from the Spark cookbook a week.

And I have always tried to push myself physically....so there is a mileage challenge I track.

Since the last couple of months have been good for me maintenance-wise, I'm trying to figure out what would be a good challenge for this month. I do try to eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods, and get in plenty of fruits and vegetables daily, but I do hit the sugar a lot, especially on those stressful days, which just seem to be more and more often. I tried tracking sugar grams, but I really have a difficult time tracking that stuff, since I really don't like using the nutrition tracker (I barely have time to log on some days, much less put in all the food I'm eating!) because it is so time consuming. So I'm still trying to figure out what to track for this challenge....maybe I'll just go back to basics and track fruits and veggies (which I already do) but with a goal of getting to 8-10 servings a day. I usually shoot for 5, but I prefer getting in more, and I think if I use this challenge I can do that!

I just blogged about it: I'm working on coming up with a plan for how to keep tracking consistently (and maintaining) once school starts up again.

In addition to tracking I will add more fruits and veggies into my diet. emoticon

Wonderful challenge and timely! In addition to continuing to track, I need to really scale back on the chocolate. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to that, but total elimination has entered my mind. Though, I probably won't go that far.
