usually when that happens when I'm tracking, I just do my best to "guesstimate" the lunch, and keep tracking the stuff I can really track. I figure at least it gives me a ballpark estimate.

I took Friday and Saturday off from tracking food, but jumping back in there today! Hoping to track for most of next week.

Anyone ever do partial tracking... such as you had lunch out and did your best, but no way to track, but you track breakfast and dinner anyway?

I'm back from my trip too, so should be able to get back to something....still, I've been feeling pretty good about my weight, so I'm less stressed about the tracking right now. And I burned over 5500 calories on this trip in 4 days...not too shabby!

Back from vacation! And, back to tracking... and doing a bit of cooking as well. I don't think I did too bad while on vacation. Also, nice to be exercising again.

I understand why SP doesn't do sugar tracking, even though the grams are in the Nutrition tracker, but it would be nice if you could total it. I try to watch sugar as well, but that goes back years. I'm good at times and at times I'm not ... I tend to in cycles. Right now, I'm sorta somewhere in the middle.

I really need to start writing down what I'm eating, I think it would help with the sugar tracking. Thursday I started out fine, but by evening I struggled especially when my neighbor showed up with a special bar of chocolate for me from her trip to Italy and Germany.....well, it was a dark chocolate and didn't really end up having that much sugar...still I'm sure I was probably around 50 g for the day....

I did finally make the slow cooker salsa chicken, it was good! I should be able to pack that up for some lunches when I get back from my last minute vacation....I found out Weds I have this next week off, work's just been so stressful....my new boss wanted me to take some time off....so I'm doing it!

Bittersweet, but do enjoy the time, it sounds like it will be good for you. And great job on the tracking!

I did the sugar tracking today, really only have had the cocoa that I put in my morning coffee....5 grams. We've been really busy at work too, and I did bring some good non-sugar snacks, mostly fruit, and a cheese stick. Oh, I did have some trail mix, I think that was listed at 6 grams so I'd better count that too! I'll skip the ice cream tonight!

This is my annual trek to the middle of nowhere and the last time to stay at the house we own (which was my dad's family home) as we finally have a buyer. It's bittersweet. But, I'm still looking forward to the downtime.

I've tracked the past couple of days and am pleasantly surprised. Things have been hectic at work, which means less snacking, which means more robust meals. Which I prefer.

I think I'll do okay while I'm away. Hoping to jump right back in with the tracking when I get back.

I'm a little jealous of your vacation...I'll need to book one soon! Smart of you to track before too!

I have the ingredients for the slow-cooker salsa chicken from the cookbook, just need to pick a day to get it going.

It's going to be a bit of a different week, since I have a massage tomorrow, and a dentist appointment on Thursday and I need to get my car smogged, I'll be driving in at least those 2 days, and I am so used to getting in the activity during my commute! But maybe I need the rest too. So those 2 days I'll be doing the sugar monitoring. I may try logging my food just to keep myself honest on the sugar, if not in the tracker, at least in a journal.

You know, I'm finding that just the act of cooking does something for me. In a positive way. Not fond of the clean-up, but usually with just one person it's not to bad.

Tracked again today. Figured I'd do as much as I can before heading out on my mini vacation.

I like cooking challenges, and the food is so much better than a frozen meal!

I did track the sugar last Tuesday pretty well, Thursday I meant to track, but it ended up being only partly successful, I actually forgot, and had some chocolate almonds at work, and then didn't remember until Friday that I was supposed to be tracking it. So I did my best to guesstimate what I had had, sugar-wise....it really wasn't all that bad, but I really did mean to be more mindful of it. Although I must admit I'm not eating that much refined/processed food lately, so it hasn't been that hard!

I'm going to stick with tracking food and I'm on a roll for this week. I've tracked 6 out of 7 days for this past week. I go on vacation this Wednesday, so I'll 5 days of non-tracking.

I'm on a team with a goal of cooking at least 1 meal at home three times a week and trying a new recipe 3 times per month. I'm aiming to wean myself from frozen dinners. Last week, I tried two new recipes. And, I'm starting to cook more again. Which makes me happy.

I do track these in other goals, but I haven't since I moved. So, this month I'll make an effort to start tracking those again.

ended up with 25.5 grams yesterday after all was said and done....I'm not sure what a good goal is for this, but I'm not unhappy with that number.

Today a bit more, 43 grams. I think I'll do some research on what is a reasonable amount.

Good luck with your tracking!

I am also tracking sugar in the processed food, I have just started, let's see how it goes. Thanks for your support.

So far I've had 11.5 grams of sugar in the processed food today (not too badly processed, but that's what I'm counting) I decided not to try to count natural sugar (like in fruit or dairy) just the added stuff...

Great! What are you going to track? If you need anything, advice, a cheerleader or a sounding board, post away!

I made my first recipe from the Sparkpeople cookbook yesterday, "better-for-you beef stroganoff" it was really good! I thought it might need some salt, since there isn't any in there, but the herbs just added the flavor it needed...I would recommend this one.

I haven't tracked any food for about a week now, but I'm holding right in my goal range, so for this month, I'll do the sugar tracking, starting today! I think this will help me keep my sweet tooth in check...

I've been putting up nutrition tracking challenges for a few months now, and thought I'd expand that a bit. I just got the Sparkpeople Cookbook, and thought I'd try to incorporate that into my personal challenge for July, and tweak the tracking challenge a bit as well.

So the challenge is:

track something. I don't really care what it is, if tracking nutrition is working for you keep doing that, if you want to track a macro- or micro- nutrient to see where you fall, track that (I may start tracking sugar grams a couple of times a week, since I seem to sometimes have trouble with my sugar intake lately). If tracking cardio minutes or strength training sessions is what you need, track those!

I'm also adding a personal challenge, which is to use my new cookbook at least once a week, hopefully more.

So, who's in?
