I'll start a new topic thread for June in a minute, but must report that I did not meet the goal this week....too many lunch invites out from work folks, and I'm not turning the boss down for lunch when we're all stressed out....so I just went with it, and decided to not try to track it and stress myself out more!

But I'll get back to it when I get back into town this week.

Oddly enough, when my stomach is really bothering me, pancakes for dinner helps. I have no idea why, but they do.

I didn't track yesterday or today, but will back at it tomorrow. Did get a really good workout in this evening, so I'm still feeling a bit pumped about that.

Pancakes for dinner sounds fun!

Scale is down even lower this morning, right smack dab mid range, so that's good, but I'm going to stick to the plan and track today (and Thursday). We got out on the bikes yesterday, it was a really nice day out, even if it was a little on the windy side!

Good for you! I did track today and went a little over, but the pancakes for dinner were worth it. :)

I was thinking of tracking today, but my scale was actually down from yesterday (and still in range!) so I decided not to. I think I'll go for Tues/Thurs again this week, but I'll see how it goes, I think those would be easy days to track, I'll be back at work and I have Pilates both days.

I'm still sore from Saturday's Pilates! Good sign, mostly my abs....

Good job tracking on the weekend, and I feel the same way you do about frosting, I can take it or leave it, usually I'd just prefer to leave it!

Tracking last week was a bust for most of the week, but I have tracked this weekend. Exercise wise, I'm still trying to get a groove, but I'm getting there.

As for the cupcakes, I just haven't wanted one. I love a good baked goodie, but I'm not a fan of icing... so I may one venture in to see if they do any frostingless ones... :)

It's nice when it gets to the point where you can track in your head, at least you know about where you are!

I ended up tracking Tues/Weds, and may track Friday, depends how I feel after today, it just worked better with what I have in the fridge/freezer and what they are serving at work. The foot is still iffy, so I've been riding in, which is really enjoyable, but not nearly the calorie or minute count of walking! So I will not be anywhere close to my previous weeks burn....and my fitness class is on hiatus for the next couple of weeks....I do depend on that to get me going! But I did sign up for some Pilates classes, at least that will get me in the gym!

Oh, cupcakes....sounds tempting. We have a new bakery by work, I haven't stopped by yet, but am tempted! Maybe as a special treat/reward (although I really don't care for food rewards, it may be motivating to keep that as a reward!)

So glad your foot is doing better! I walked to training today, swung by the post office on the way back and then ran an little errand at lunch, which gave me a little more walking. Sadly, I also found a cupcake shop. Now I know where two are, plus I've been told where a good bakery is. So far, though, I have not sampled!

Didn't track yesterday or today and lunch will probably be out tomorrow, though I might try tracking as best I can since I'm not sure where I'll be lunching! At any rate, I'm still trying to keep track in my head since it generally doesn't vary much during the week.

I did really nothing on Saturday, and spent most of the day with my foot propped up, and it did feel better for it. Sunday I did some yard work, but sitting on a stool, not up on my feet, and then we went for a mountain bike ride, which is less pressure on the feet than walking! Still feels OK, so I've decided to ride in to work rather than walk....even though I do enjoy the walking.

I've also hit a snag, in that my i-tunes isn't working, something went wrong with the last download/update I guess, but when I plug in my ipod to my laptop it just freezes up. Maybe it really is just time to get a new laptop....this one just gives me fits to no end! But then I have to move my stuff over.... emoticon I'll give it some more thought.....

I'll be tracking Tues/Thurs again. I have a massage scheduled tomorrow, so that should be a good day to track, I'll be so relaxed!

Back to tracking today... within range, but it's always easier on the weekend. I don't munch as much for some reason.

Sorry to hear about your foot -- I hope you rested it this weekend and that it's doing better!

Good job on getting in range with the tracking, but I think it's also helpful just to work out those kinks, too, like seeing where we can cut something out, or where we need to lighten it up a bit. tend to overdo after dinner, especially if I'm watching TV,I just feel so "snacky!"

I'm thinking I may have made a mistake on the walking yesterday (and today), since I went to see the podiatrist yesterday for this occasional foot pain I have. He agreed with my former podiatrist that it was probably a neuroma,so he offered an injection, and I took it, and while it felt fine yesterday, I did my gym circuit, and walked home, then walked to work again this morning, and this afternoon, had the sharp pain again. Of course I had to walk home again, and while it seems OK now, I was reading about the injection and one person who was told to stay off the foot for a few days to give the steroids time to work. So maybe I shouldn't have been doing all that on my foot yesterday and today? Well too late now! So I may try to put it up and see how I feel in the morning.

The walk sounds lovely! I did walk again to the post office today, but didn't lengthen it as I had to take some time to try and figure out the deal with my mail -- namely, I don't think it's being forwarded. We'll see. Got back and had about a half or so to eat and read.

Tracked again today and am finally within range. I've spent the past 4 days going over, though not by much, but still over. Glad today is different. Tracking, though, I know where the calories are coming from and it's a bad little habit I developed on the move. So, now I gotta get a plan to break it. :)

I've been adding little extras on my walk home, I walk through a park, and realized I could detour through the "garden" part of the park and when I do that, I don't walk on the path where the water pools when they overwater the meadow (which just seems to have started!) Plus it's a botanical garden, so it's really nicely done with better paths, and it adds a bit extra to the walk home.

It's strange the things that we don't think to ask about a job can be the little things that irritate us when we get there! And who would think to ask about lunch breaks? Anyway, I think when we're looking we're not really looking for the negative stuff, and they are trying to woo you into the job, so they won't bring it up....but you do seem to be rolling with it now, I'm sure you'll be able to make it work! And good job on the tracking and yoga!

I got in my yoga this morning, it was a short one, but I'd like to get in to work a little earlier than I need to, since I have a doctor appt today, and still have lots of work to do!

I did well with my tracking yesterday, I had a bit of a moment after putting in dinner, where I thought I was way over, but then I notices that my snacks had been entered twice.....once I took out the duplicates, it was right under my goal.....so then I just had to resist the urge to pull out the triscuts! I did manage that, so yeah me!

I did yoga tonight. Trying to get used to the different commute, which is even more different as my hours are not what they used to be coupled with a longer commute in general. But, I did it and am glad I did.

I prefer a half hour for lunch, but apparently at new job it's a no-no. A lot of things about this new job I wasn't expecting. Getting ready to track for today and hoping I stay within range.

The walk is nice. I may need to find a way to make it a little longer. Maybe circle the square near the post office then head back. Should still be able to eat and read a bit even with the extra.

We get a half hour for lunch where I work, it's enough, although I suppose if I took an hour I could sneak in a class now and again, since the gym is right next door....but nice that you took the time to read, good de-stressor!

I'n tracking today, somehow the tracker "lost" the lunch and snacks I had just entered, and I had to enter them again! Not sure where they went....

Also back to my yoga. I'm going to try to complete the Yoga Journal 21 day challenge, just to see how it goes. I've done many of the practices already, so there won't be many surprises, but it will keep me doing it.

Nice job on the walking, Adlin! I'm loving my morning "commute" walk, put on the ipod and go!

I'm tracking again today. Need to get rid of my chocolate fixes. I'll go over a little, but it's also TOM and I won't go over by that much. I did walk to post office. Checked mail, but forgot to mail a card, so I'll be walking again tomorrow, which isn't bad.

I also took the sandwich and ate in my office. Read for a bit as well. I'm used to a half hour for lunch, but here it's an hour. So, I took an hour and enjoyed getting back into the book I'm reading.

I might be going over a little, but at least with tracking I know why I'm going over.

I missed my yoga this weekend....I had every intention of doing it, but I guess I needed more than just intention! But got up this morning and did a practice.... emoticon

I'll be walking in again this week, have to get there a bit early today, as I have to meet our new contractor, and get him off to orientation, it will be good to have some help, as we are just falling way behind these days! Between the folks that quit, and the sick calls, I can't keep our head above water!

But still will focus on choosing healthy food and working out, and some mental well being thrown in there too!

Good for you with the bike ride! I worked out this AM but not 1500 calories worth. Did my Yogini workout, which felt good.

Went a little over on the calories, but not by much, so I'm basically okay with it.

Nice getting that walking in, "found fitness" right? I'm really enjoying walking to work, I hope to keep it going all summer! (of course that all depends on the job situation working itself out....)

Turns out I burned over 5,000 calories last week! You'd think I'd just shrink away with that, but I seem to eat enough to make up for it!

We got in a nice bike ride today, 11 miles, I did hit 1500 calorie burn with that to start the week.

Tracked today -- a little bit over, but not bad. I'm just acknowledging that it's one of those days.

I'm definitely learning a lesson about greener grass. :) Still working on a plan for lunch. I'm a getting a bit of a walk several days a week though as my post office box is about 4 blocks from the library. So, when I go, i get about a 30 minute walk. Which is kind of nice.

Hoping to track tomorrow as well.

Sometimes we just have to make do with what we can find in that tracker! I'm sure it was close enough for that cupcake, and if it was good, more the better! I hate "wasting" calories on something that wasn't even that good....

Too bad about your break room being dreary....there is that "grass is greener" thing isn't there? My staff complain about our office because it's in the basement, and while I would like to have a window too, where I was before this job everyone had very small, cramped desks and were so spread out....I'll take this open space with large desks any day!

I got my 2 days of tracking in (Tues/Thurs) seemed to work OK, and I've settled back into my goal range. My calorie burn for the week was sky high, with all the walking to and from work! Well over 4000 calories....no wonder I'm hungry all the time!

I'm going to have to figure out the tracking, though I just realized with lunch out, I could still track, though there was the welcome Cupcake, so I'm guessing I went a little over.

I saw the staff lounge today. Ugh. I will telling former co-workers they can never talk about the dreariness of their staff lounge. This was one of the most uninviting rooms I've ever seen. There was a microwave and I'm told most folks go elsewhere to eat. And, the staff handbook says not eating in "public or shared" spaces. Well, my office is shared, but that person isn't there yet, so I may eat in there for a bit, but that will either limit me to sandwiches or I'll have to go down two flights of stairs and heat food, then take it elsewhere. Needless to say I was disappointed. Time to develop plan B.

I did track today, even though I wrap for lunch. Would have been okay if I hadn't had the Welcome Cupcake. But, it was good and I didn't go over that much (course the cupcake calories are a guesstimate based on what I could find in SP). Still, I tracked.

I don't like to track those kinds of meals either! Just no good way to "guesstimate" some of that stuff. I am tracking today though, I think I'm going to track Tues/Thurs and see how that works out this month, since my fitness class is Mon/Weds, and I get a triple workout that day (with the walk to and from work added in....) Funny thing today when I downloaded my walks into my fitness tracker I hit 3200 calories for the week exactly! (so far, starting on Sunday...not too shabby for it only being Tuesday!)

Guess I'd better go track the snack I just had!

I know! I had a lot of drawer space before that kitchen, but when I moved I was surprised by how used to the four drawer cart I had become. It worked much better than I realized. And, it turns out that kitchen, which need a bit more counter space, really was easy to cook in. This new kitchen doesn't quite have the ease that one had.

Cool about the 18 mile mountain bike ride yesterday! I'm doing something tonight, I just haven't decided what yet.

No food tracking today as lunch was provided at orientation and I just don't have the energy tonight to try and track it. So, I'm not. I'll pick back up tomorrow.

I can't imagine designing a kitchen with so little drawer space! I think that's why I didn't think to look when I bought that house!

Glad you found a grocery store that will work for you! I do like a good sandwich too....I tend to bring frozen dinners for lunch at work, it's just so easy and convenient, I usually look for the healthier options, but still, most have way too much sodium! I should do the sandwich thing...especially with summer coming.

We did an 18+ mile mountain bike ride yesterday, and even though we hit PF Changs afterward, I still dropped on the scale, emoticon

That was my last apartment! Two drawers, but one was so tiny you couldn't really do much with it. I had a small wall, so I got a 4 drawer cart (you know, the plastic one on wheels) and it worked so good that I'm still keeping most things in there. :) I did find a grocery store today and got some things and can see myself gradually easing into cooking. Already, I'm back to my weekend sandwiches, which I find I enjoy much better than getting takeout after running errands. I may still do that sometimes, but I just enjoy coming home and fixing my own lunch.

I did track today. Still managing to stay well within my range. So, happy about that. No exercise today, but planning on it tomorrow morning.

When I bought my house I didn't notice until I had moved in that there was only one drawer in the entire kitchen (and a small one at that!) Also, for as open as the space was, very little counter space, probably 3 square ft of usable space....needless to say, I had to acquire a butcher block stand with a drawer and space to at least do some chopping on! But I did learn to live with it, like you say....so hope you find a way to work it out. If you have florescent lights maybe you could invest in one of those natural light spectrum bulbs? The ones people use to combat "SAD"?

I did get in my four days of walking in to work, I'm up to 2600 calories now for the week, not sure what we will do today, tomorrow is the nicer day of the weekend, so I'd really just like to work in the yard!

Good for you! I'm not sure what it is about this apartment, except maybe the lack of natural light. This is the first place I've lived that really doesn't have abundant natural light. I can't imagine what kind of cave it will be in winter.

I'm sure the kitchen will grow on me, but it just doesn't feel like mine. So, I may have to do baby steps to get back to cooking - adding a few frozen dinners that can be dressed up and doing stuff in the oven. The counter space looked good until I tried working with it and then it's not all that great. And, the fridge in this place is even more basic than my previous one and I didn't think that was possible. Then today's grocery shopping (third different grocery store) reveled another skimpy produce department. I guess I'll plan for a trip every couple of weeks to Fresh Market to stock up on the things I want and am used to.

I start work on Monday, so that may help. Tracked again today and am in range. So, that's good. I'm almost over on Fat, but not quite and that's what counts. :)

I know you've had a tough time in your new place....hope it grows on you! Or you find one that you love soon....what do you think it is about the kitchen you don't like? Maybe you could change it somehow (paint a wall, put up a cheerful or inspiring photo, have some potporri or a scented candle that would make it feel like "home"?) Hope you find your kitchen mojo soon!

I tracked for 3 days in a row....unusual for me, but I was really down about my weight after last weekends crazy indulgences (2 or 3 a day....for 3 days!) but I'm finally back down in my range for the past 2 days, so I'm taking the day off. (of tracking food that is)

I've walked in to work 3 days this week so far, and will again today, maybe next week I'll get in 5! So far I'm over 2000 calories burned this week!

This is my second day in a row tracking as well! It's so random because I'm still way off the mark on meals (and was slightly under range yesterday). On the plus side, I have no desire for outside food. On the minus side, I have no idea what I want so going to the grocery store doesn't help.

I'm making another test run tomorrow for Monday's new job start and plan to stop by a grocery store on the way back. Have no idea what I'll get as this kitchen does nothing for me. I never thought I'd say that about a kitchen, but right now I have no desire to really cook in this kitchen. Even though I've given up frozen dinners, I'm thinking about getting a couple just to have something to eat until I get into that kitchen and cook.

I also did exercise today (aside from unpacking) -- yoga -- and tracked that as well. Hopefully, that will help me a bit as well.

I tracked 2 days so far, and this morning I was happier with the number on the scale.....and I know I need to not pay that much attention to that, but still!

emoticon emoticon

I'm tracking again today, and I'll see how I feel tomorrow, I may just take the weekend off, but still watch the sugar. I've been skipping my nightly dark chocolate, and managed to skip the sugar at work too, so I'm down to just the chocolate I add to my morning coffee (I can't give up everything!) My issue today is dizziness, not sure if it's the low cal, or not enough water (although I drink quite a lot of it!) I'm hoping it will taper off....

Wow, I guess misery loves company! At least I'm not alone in the "stressed out" department, so lets work it!

I've stated my nutrition tracking today....I may just keep doing it daily until this last weekends "treats" are worked out of my system! I feel like my workouts have been good, except I'm walking to work a lot, so not getting the high intensity cardio I had been doing. But I love the walk in and back from work.....so I may just need to hit the gym for some higher intensity before walking back.

Glad you all have joined the challenge! We can do this together, and maybe let off some steam too!

I'm so in. I'm dipping my feet back into tracking mode this morning with breakfast. My Mom leaves on Wednesday and I will then focus on trying to track at least 4 days and get back to exercise, including two yoga workouts a week.

When I get super stressed, as this move has done to me, I find it hard to eat. So, I've had more sweets than usual, but can't really even focus on food when my stomach is just tied in knots. The upside. I think the weight I gained before this move is gone -- if my jeans are any indication. So, it will be back to exercise, including cardio and weight training as well.

Glad to see the challenge continue!

It's crazy what stress does to us isn't it? I gained back 12 lbs. of my 32 lb. loss in 6 weeks. Our company is being sold as well and as a single Mom with this job being my only income the stress is astronomical and to top it all off I moved this month making dinnertimes total chaos, all while I was preparing for our Quality Audits and dealing with internal audits and auditors all month too. Seven of the 12 lbs. were accumulated during the three days the auditor was there due to the constant eating of donuts, and dining out that comes with these silly audits. Man, how they love to eat. And this particular auditor does not like to eat alone. The move is complete, the audits are over and well, there really isn't much I can do about the outcome of our company being sold so I NEED to get back on track ASAP. So frustrated and disappointed.

I'm still doing daily food and activity tracking. Not ready to give myself too much leash yet:) Sugary stuff has been a weakness for me lately too. I feel like it's stress eating, but I haven't identified the stress that is triggering it yet.

May will be here tomorrow, so time to refocus on your goals for the new month. This is a transitional season, so make the most of it, and track it!

I'm planning on continuing with my twice a week nutrition tracking, and will post my calorie burn for the week here as well. I've been indulging in way too much sugar lately, I'm pretty sure it's stress eating, since my job is going through a transition phase, the company I currently work for has sold our facility to a new company, which means we all have to reapply for our jobs or look for new ones.....But I keep telling myself "change is good"....and I do believe that, but it's also very stressful! So I think I should add a tracking category for de-stressing activity as well!

Who's with me?
