Started to track on Monday, and was derailed by lunch out with my boss.....so I picked it back up on Tuesday, and that one went fine. And I'm starting again this morning, so I'll get my 2 days in this week....but the scale has been fickle, it went down after my missed tracking day Monday, and then up the next 2 days (including this morning) despite lots of activity....so I really need to work it today.

On a completely random note, I'm looking at a beautiful rainbow right outside my window! emoticon

Got in my tracking last week, Monday and Thursday, although it was a challenge. I've been really hungry lately! Probably the stress from work.....it's tough being so unsettled. But we're hearing more good things lately about the new company, so my staff are feeling better now. At least that part is easier to deal with.

Today I'm on to track again, so I'm really going to focus on making good choices. I also have my small group fitness so need to fuel appropriately for that...it's all about balance, right?

Wow, this thread has tapered off....well, I did get my 2 tracking days in this week, and back from my Arizona trip, I also got my 2 days in last week! So I feel good about that, even if I did overindulge a lot in Arizona....the weight came down pretty quickly (like in a day or two) so I think the gain was a lot of water...

this weeks tracking was tricky for me, Monday I did my tracking and came home to a note on the door (after 2 hours at the gym....) saying "Jutta's feeding us, come next door" Well, this was around 7:20pm, and I was sweaty from the gym...not really wanting to head back out again, even if it was just next door. So I hopped in the shower, and in the middle of that Larry comes walking in wondering if I'm coming over! I said that was my plan, but could I at least finish my shower first, and maybe a heads up phone call would have been nice.... emoticon

But it was a fun evening, and I ended up tracking what I could and even though I was over my calories, I was on track with most of the other stuff, and even the calcium and iron were in the green....so not totally unsuccessful! And I guess the workouts made up for the calories, since the scale dropped the next day.

Friday tracking was another challenge, as Larry invited a friend over for dinner, but I did track it, and I did stay in most of my ranges this time. So, this challenge is really working for me, and for the most part my weight has really stabilized to within 1 or 2 lbs rather than the 3-5 lbs it was fluctuating.

I'm in a similar situation, going to a 4 day work project away from home....they do have a gym, and hiking/running nearby, so I should be able to workout, but no control over the food choices (except what I pick from what's offered.) I'm going to start an April tracking challenge, so I'll post my plan there!

You're right about the nutrients! Even when I go over, most things are still in range. I'm feeling the no exercise is a variety of ways. Tomorrow I leave for a conference (return on Wednesday) and trying to come up with a mental game plan for food.

They do offer yoga at 7:00 each morning, so even though I'm taking the small suitcase so I don't check it, I'm hoping to cram some workout clothes in there and do at least one morning of yoga. I think it's really cool that they have morning yoga at the conference.

Then, upon my return, I hope to get back to tracking.

Upcoming new job and a move, no wonder you're stressed! Good for you for tracking anyway, you're right, it's a reality check to see what's really going on with your nutrition. You may want to look at your quality of food too, maybe even if you end up going over on calories, you can see if the nutrient ratios are in line.

I'm tracking again today, and I've been back to my ST classes, so that actually feels good, even if m work situation is out of whack! I've had the 4th person in my dept give notice this week in the past few months (not that I'm that disappointed in all of them leaving, I actually lost a couple of problems) but it's hard working with such a small staff, when one of them calls in sick, it throws everything off, and I had 2 call in this week! Such is life!

Well, yesterday did not turn out as well for me tracking wise as I thought it would. I think it's stress and just thinking about too many things at once. I'm going to have to modify breakfast, but will do that over the move period. This is basically my last week of work (2 days next week but a conference for the other three days).

However, I tracked and realized that's why I tracked. I didn't think it was bad, but I've been hungry and well, the snacks got me. Not too bad, but I was over.

It's better today.

I have to finish up my tracking from yesterday. The neighbor came over for dinner, and I was so tired by the time she left, I just went to bed....got in 2 workouts thought!

Good luck with the low impact workouts, and the hearty lunches! I find some days a hearty lunch (or breakfast) really holds me over through the day, and sometimes I feel ravenous 2 hrs later, I think it all depends on protein content for me, eggs for breakfast, not so hungry later, too many carbs, ravenous! (It's got to be about the balance, I do love carbs!)

Well, I tracked yesterday and am tracking today. Trying to remember the low impact workouts I did the last time my back flared.

Lunch is going to be on the fly for a couple of days, but it might work to my advantage as it will let me test the "heartier lunch" theory. I.e. a heartier lunch will equal less snacking in the afternoon and evening. I really need to cut down on that.

Well, really doing it is the important part, writing it down is a bonus! Good that you're able to keep it up with all your trouble lately....I've been keeping up with your blogs....it's been rough for you!

I did my tracking Monday and Thursday, and that went well, and back to the gym, feeling better after my trip "cold" took me out for about a week! We're supposed to get out skiing today, I'm looking forward to that, I need a day out playing....

Hi! I am still here and have been tracking both nutrition and exercise every day this month. I am down a couple of pounds as a result of it. I am sorry I have not been around so much lately...things are a little rough right now. Eye is still got the active virus, I am having an MRI tomorrow for my back and just some other things...this too shall pass I suppose.

Well, take care of the back, you certainly don't want to make it worse! Good for you, tracking 4 days, that's great!

I'm on board again today. Did well on Monday, but the scale didn't show it, and then this morning it was back down again, despite 2 non-tracking days, and eating out yesterday. I guess it just shows me that the ups and downs don't necessarily correlate to the previous day's intake. Still, I'm liking where I'm at right now, scale-wise, the fluctuations are smaller than they have been staying mostly w/ in a pound of my actual goal weight. That never happens!

I'm on day 4 of tracking this week. Went over a couple of days, but not too terrible. I'm again reminded though that I really need to evaluate what I'm eating. It's not bad, but I think I need to bulk up on the actual meals and get rid of the snacks or at least some of the snacks.

Back still bothers me a bit, which means I'm sliding on the exercise and I really need to get re-energized for that as well.

Hope your sciatic nerve is not aggravating you any more...it sounds debilitating! Good job on home cooking, and cleaning out the freezer, I know I have those times when I look at the pantry and figure it's time to start using all the stuff I've stocked up on! Although now living with Larry, that doesnt' happen much, he's one to use the stuff up before I've realized he even knew it was in there!

I've started my tracking for today, and boy do we need to get to the store! But I have enough for a couple of days worth....we certainly won't starve, but the pickings are pretty slim.

We did get out skiing yesterday, and I think my small group fitness starts up again today (I hope, that's what my trainer told me last week, but I haven't confirmed since then...) getting back into a workout routine feels good.

My sciatic nerve was really bothering me, so I had a week of just about nothing because even light stuff seemed to make it worse. Started back last week and this weekend and am finding that the walking DVDs are good. Cycled some basic Slim in 6 in there as well and doing some yoga stretches for the lower back. Feels good to get going again.

Tracked today. And doing good. Happily prepared all meals at home this weekend. That also is very nice. Hoping that I can use up what's in the freezer at least before it's time to wonder about what to do with it. Pretty sure I will if I just basically stop shopping and start using what's in there.

Good for you, Adlin! Sometimes I like to do that, just to clean out the stores....freezer or cupboard stores that is! I didn't track at all last week, even though we got back on Monday....this cold knocked me back a bit, and my weight has actually been stable (135, my goal weight for the past 4 days in a row...) so I haven't felt a great need to track the food. And I just got back to working out on Friday, I ended up burning less than 1000 calories last week, compared to just over 3000 the week before....well, guess that's what being sick means!

I'm going to commit to getting back to my previously stated challenge this week, I'll track Monday and Thursday.

I've been horrible at tracking so far this month, but today I jumped back on the tracking wagon. I'm going to have to use what's in the freezer so my cooking will dwindle, but the good thing is I should be able to track it easily.

I haven't tracked since I left on vacation....not sure when I'll start again. Normally I was tracking Monday and Thursday, but I've also been sick, so not wanting to track when I don't have much of an appetite. But that's coming back, so maybe tomorrow?

I think healing takes a lot of energy, so it saps your strength for even walking....I'm feeling it too. We're at our friends now, just walked back from where his car kind of broke down....hope he can get it to start and get back! If not he said he'd walk back too.

Getting more veggies today, not as much fruit (like, none so far) but that's OK, I've had more heavy on the fruit days lately, time to hit the veggies.

Good going on your streak, Ronna! 16 days is great!

Getting exercise and fruit/veggies on vacation! Impressive! I hope that cold clears up for you...

I am still on a streak of tracking my exercise and my food ...maybe about 16 days or so. Had a big walk today and am kind of feeling it. Sad when a walk makes me "feel it"!

That's funny, Larry did that, he grabbed an apple from the buffet and had it later....I was not that forward thinking....and we ended up eating at another place yesterday (and this morning yet a 3rd place!) But my breakfast yesterday was full of fruit,at least 3 servings....a whole banana a lots of blueberries. We had Indian for dinner, and I'm sure I hit at least 7 servings of fruits/veggies yesterday, not bad for vacation. I'm still not feeling well though, the chest congestion and cough are wearing me out.

At least I got in a long walk yesterday, a little over 5 miles worth!

Vacation is hard when it comes to that...I often have the same problem. Perhaps you could carry some fruit with you from your breakfast buffet and snack on it when you are walking. (I am always scoping out breakfast buffets for what I can pocket for later in the day :-) (saves money too!)

Good for you for tracking at the food show! And for seeing results, that's great!

Well, despite going to a food show this week I have managed to track fitness and food everyday. I stopped by work the day of the food show and hopped on the scale and have seen that I lost three pounds. I would say now that I finally got serious about this that things are going my way in that aspect.

No tracking for me while on vacation....just too much trouble, and I just want to relax and enjoy myself, but still trying to get in my fruits and veggies....I always track that! The hotel has a gym with nice equipment, so I should at least get in some good workouts!

Well, the recipe turned out good. But, I say more than 4 servings, which is good because the calorie count for 4 servings is high. Not if I can get my snacking reigned in, but still. I did go back and track it for yesterday (did go over, but such is life) and I tracked today. Realizing how good it is for me to track even if it is a bit of pain some days.

Have a great vacation!

My last tracking day before my vacation....so if I don't post for a few days, don't worry, I'll be back! I think we have internet at the hotel, so I should be able to post....but you never know.

Nice to have leftovers, especially home made ones!

Tracked today. Yay. I'm sure by the time dinner gets added in, I went over. But, I'm hoping by not too much. I tired a new recipe tonight and just didn't have the time to enter in the Recipe Calculator. It was supposed to be for 4 but I suspect it's going to be more than that for me. At any rate, since there are obviously left overs, I will enter it and back track it to round out today's eating.

I was the same weight 3 days in a row while tracking but went up this morning, it must be the sodium, which was way up yesterday...so more water today, I suppose that will flush it out. Still, I know my exercise was good (XC skiing, can't beat that!) and my calories were in range too, so I'm sure it will level back out in the next day or 2. Then I'm off on vacation, no tracking in Montreal!

I have a bit of a struggle with my veggie count as well. Fruit I do well with and I DO eat my veggies I just know I could do better.

Tracking again today and I did yesterday as well.

I think there will always be ebbs and flows here in maintenance....just the way it goes. Welcome to the March challenge, Adlin!

I'm on day 4 of 4 for March, and just squeeked in range, but it was a lot of guesstimating, as we went out to lunch after skiing....but then my HRM said I burned 950 calories so I'm OK with it. Lots of veggies and some fruit....I've been eating a lot of salad lately, that just emoticon 's the veggie count. And it was a nice day out, great ski!

Good thing we're keeping this challenge going because I've been just terrible about tracking and I can tell! Hope to get back on the tracking wagon tomorrow....

Great having that streak going, Ronna!

I'm on day 3, so far so good! I had forgotten until I posted the previous post about the spring roll I also had for lunch, still did fine for the day, and my weight stayed exactly the same as yesterday even with eating out, so I'm sure my "guess" was pretty close.

We got out skiing today, my week total calorie burn is almost 3000 calories, not too bad, considering I did more low intensity stuff than normal, including walking to work 3 days.

Eating out is hard. I had to guess on something I ate out yesterday too. Good idea leaving the big ball of rice alone! lol!

I tracked again today...so I have everyday this month so far. I think I am on a 10 day streak...maybe 11. Fitness minutes too. Today was only 30 minutes walking but it is for sure better than nothing!

I started tracking yesterday, and had a blip at lunch when the boss called wanting to go out for lunch....hard to turn her down! So I put away the lunch I had planned, and went with the gals to lunch, and had to kind of wing it on the tracking. I ended up guesstimating what I had (a stir-fry chicken dish, I left the big ball of white rice alone...) and ended up well with in range. So I'm sticking to my plan so far...

Great that you are in, Ronna! It's nice to have company for the challenge!

I'm in! I have been tracking now everyday and plan on tracking every day for the month of March. I am tracking fitness minutes and calories. Gotta do it. Gonna do it!

Spring in on the way, will you be ready?

We've been going steady on the tracking challenges this year, is it time to step it up, change it up, or just keep going strong?

Set your March tracking goals, and watch them happen! You may want to track nutrition and/or fitness this month, daily, or x times per week....post your goal, and track it here!

My goal is switching up a bit, simply because we are traveling next week, so that makes for a tracking challenge....so I'm planning on tracking my food until we leave (on the 7th) and see how it went when I get back on the 12th!

We have some challenges this month, St Patrick's day can bring more goodies to the office, more temptations in the grocery store, and the possibility of corned beef and cabbage if you go that route! But challenges can be opportunities, so let's make the most of it and ROCK OUT MARCH!

Who's in?
