I keep looking at bar recipes, but have yet to try one....let us know if you find a good one, Adlin.

I did OK tracking yesterday, I was done for the day and at the low end of my range, but then just got ravenous about an hour or so after dinner.....so I had some crackers and cheese. Still in my range, but closer to the high end.

I'll start another thread for February...this is working well for me, I'm glad you both are finding it helpful too!

Another tracking day for me... much better than yesterday, but that's what I like about tracking. You learn what sends you over so the next time hopefully you make better choices or can leave something out.

I'm getting rid of my snacks - slowly and am going to set a goal to transition to some type of fruit and maybe some nuts for my afternoon snack. I've decided I'd like to get rid of the "bars" maybe learn to make my own.

Nice job you two! I am tracking today but I really did not do so well on this challenge this month...last week I kept starting my tracking and then not getting it all in...I blame the birthday parties and all the cake!

Again...I am not giving up. January was not my month but I would like to make Feb. great!

I tracked today. Had dinner out and would have been okay had I left the pita bread alone. Lesson learned.

No exercise today which I'm sorta sad about, but I made up for it by going with a friend to adopt her new kitty! We've been keeping an eye on this big boy for a little over a month and when I told her that yes, this past Saturday he was still there, she figured it was meant to me. He's a solid white handsome little furbaby. Very friendly (he's a lover as one of the rescue ladies put it), but still trying to figure out what happened tonight! My friends cat passed away this past summer, so I think it'll be good for both of them. And, I'll just need to see if I can squeeze another workout in this week.

Tracking today for me too, I did OK this weekend not tracking, but I'm sure the skiing on Saturday helped.

My small group training is off this week, starts again next week, so I'm trying to figure out a fitness plan for the week as well....and the Pilates classes I wanted were booked! Well, plan B....gotta figure it out.

Good habits starting, Adlin, that's wonderful, and baking on the weekend, fun!

Back to tracking today. This morning was the morning for the scale. Not really up or down, which is good I guess.

I was hoping for a loss, but I know that some good habits are just starting to kick back. One is eating at home on the weekends (I usually do Friday dinner out with a friend) and this weekend I realized I'm done with bakeries. I loved them but since the surgery not so much. So, I got out the Small Batch Baking cookbook and that's where my weekend treats will come from.

I was right near, but not over the top of my range on Thursday, so I felt good about that.

Will be tracking again tomorrow...and thinking about February...I'm going to continue this challenge, I really feel like it's working well, and I feel pretty good about it so far.

Good job Adlin, 5 days! emoticon

Tracked Thursday, for a total of 5 days this week. Nothing yesterday or today, but I think I've been in range today, but not sure about yesterday. If I went over, it wasn't too bad.

I'll get back to it tomorrow.

I think, even if the number is higher than you intended, it's good to know where you are, and I agree about the potatoes! some things are harder to measure than others....

I'm tracking again today, and mysteriously went up again on the scale, but it's got to be an odd fluke, we XC skied yesterday, and my HRM said I burned 1000+ calories, and I didn't really eat more than normal, in fact, I feel like I might have been on the lesser end of the spectrum, so I think it's more a water balance problem.

In any case, it's Thursday, and that's tracking day for me! Better get to it!

Tracked today. Went over a bit yesterday, but I'm proud that I tracked it. Most days I'm doing well and staying in range.

Glad the scale is going the way it's supposed to. I even measured out the potatoes tonight and that's a little bit of pain, but then I know.

My tracking went well yesterday, but I did get a bit irritated at Larry for making stir-fry....I don't know why, he's so good to be the cook, but it's just so hard to track something that isn't measured at all! I did have him weigh the chicken, and just took my best guess on the sauce....and the scale was happier this morning, so I suppose my guess was close.

My fitness class tonight, and I'm off on Wednesday, we're planning on finally putting the skis on!

Good job on the 4 days of tracking Adlin, I'm still thinking about adding a third day, I think I'll see how January ends up, and decide for February.

The soup and the avocado hummus dip sound wonderful!

I tracked today. So, two days of my four so far. The more I track, the better I seem to be doing. Eventually, I'll get on a scale and see where I am otherwise I won't know for sure how the current game plan is working.

That's the spirit Ronna! Get back to it, and don't look back....

Great job tracking Adlin!

I'm on it today, but I went up a lb over last week, it's not the end of the world, but really I would like to see the scale go in the other direction...but I know I've been cooking more, and even though the ingredients are good, I may be overindulging in them...I made a Thai lentil soup with coconut milk, and an avocado hummus dip over the weekend!

So I'll see how the tracking goes today, and see if I can turn this back around on the scale.

Well, I have done it again. I only tracked once last week. UGH! What is wrong with me? I have clearly not been "into" it. Well guess what? I am just going to keep going and start with tracking today. I might even track everyday. I have gained too much weight during my illness and now I think I have to be back in full on weight loss mode rather than maintaining. I am not overweight according to my BMI but I am not where I feel my best. So here goes. Again.

I tracked on Thursday, but not yesterday or today. Still, that was 5 times this week. It was hard on Thursday as I had lunch out, but I did my best.

The good thing is I don't think I've done too bad either day. I'm really getting the hang of having lunch in on the weekends rather than getting something out. Did enjoy the Turkey burger I got last night, more for convenience. Used my own mayo and did not get fries.

Will pick back up with the tracking tomorrow.

I was originally planning on tracking today, but I have a doctor's appt, and while it would be OK still, I was thinking ahead to next week, and if I go back on my previous schedule Mon/Thurs, it makes more sense to me to track tomorrow....so that's what I'm going to do!

Good job, Adlin! I think less than 10 calories over is fine....that's so close, isn't it? I really feel like my body does better mixing it up, and going high and low, rather than at one calorie level all the time....

Tracked today! Will probably go over by a few calories (less than 10) by the end of the evening, but some days are like that.

Liking this tracking. It's like I'm relearning some things all over again.

I actually skipped the hot chocolate in favor of tea. Maybe later this week as the temperatures will be dropping through Friday.

Tracking today! I haven't decided on dinner, but the day so far has been good and I'm not anticipating going over my range. Yay!

emoticon enjoy your hot chocolate! mmmmm.....

I did well with my tracking yesterday, at the low end of my range, emoticon

I'll track again on Weds, and see how that goes, different days than I was tracking.

And I seem to have shed the sodium gain from the other day, happy about that too. I guess that's what making my own meals as opposed to going out will do.

Tracked again today! And, well within range. That includes a couple of muffins -- homemade. I'm rediscovering that mine are better than most bakery's and I know the calorie count! Nice.

I'm walking a friends dogs tonight and I'm excited that I can have hot chocolate if I like (it's cold outside!) later tonight.

I'm planning on tracking today, and Weds this week....I went up again this morning, even with the 3.5 hr hike (burning over 1400 calories!) but we went to Chili's afterward, and Larry loves the 2 for $20 meal. I got ribs too, not my usual, but after the hike, well, I didn't think it would be that bad, but there is so much sodium in that food! So I'll track today, and see what happens over the next couple of days.

I have a couple of thoughts on the scale. Either you want a baseline, so just hop on, or you want to find a different source of measurement, and you stay off, and go by something else (how your clothes fit, measurements, etc) I do a combination, but mostly like the scale, because it's a number I can easily track.

So, I tracked today! I'm so proud. I almost didn't as I caved for a treat I hadn't had in a while, plus I have cookies for dessert. In range! Barely, but still in range and I tracked the good, the bad and the ugly!

Learned a couple of things. Always good to have a stand-by dinner that isn't calorie heavy. And, while I enjoyed the treat, wow, would my totals have been so different! It's been months since this treat though and now I think I can go months again. Yay.

I really need to get on the scales, but I haven't yet. Haven't since the surgery and I should so I can get a feel for where I am. Sigh. We'll see.

Blipped up again this morning, now I'm wondering if it's the sodium from the other day? I'm glad I noted that, or I may not have noticed that....

Hope you enjoyed your dinner out, Adlin, we still have to enjoy those things when they come around, I'm sure you'll recover well!

No tracking today and my Friday night out with a friend probably put me over the top. However, I'm planning on eating at home over the long weekend and working out, so hopefully I'll recover from dinner tonight.

Today's tracking went well, a bit over on the sodium....I may have to look at that, but I also worked out, and I'm one of those "salty sweaters" so I tend not to fret over that too much.

You both are doing great! It's so nice to have company on this challenge, keeps me motivated to see how you are doing it!

Had to run an errand tonight (unusual for me as I usually save them for the weekend) and picked up dinner from Zoe's Kitchen. I have part for lunch tomorrow and since I ate early, no snacking before dinner!

No tracking today, but hoping to track over the long weekend as well.

I'll be tracking tomorrow, and then I have a 4 day weekend, so I suppose I have to decide if I'm sticking to my Mon-Thurs tracking days....I think I will, we're not going anywhere, and 4 days of not tracking will probably be too much!

It is - from Beachbody. It thought it would be a good program to get back into really exercising after the surgery. It goes over 6 weeks. I really like the start up piece - not slow paced, but not high impact. And, it involves cardio and sculpt, with tubes. Plus, a couple of "extras" which I'm still investigating.

Tracked again today and well within my range. Yay!

Is "slim in 6" a workout program? You'll have to review the results when you're done with it, sounds interesting.

Thinronna, bummer about the sick leave extension, hope your eye is healing some though, and rest, I have trouble with that one too! I'm taking a rest day today, but I still want to do my yoga, so I'll pick a more restful, restorative one for later this evening. I think I have one for insomnia, that should be restful!

Great job on the re-tracking Adlin, ending up below even with the junk food, emoticon

I track again tomorrow, but still eating as if I were tracking today....I'll see how that goes.

@Thinronna - bummer about the sick leave! I hope you feel better soon. I had surgery in November and was off for a couple of weeks, but I had no problem doing nothing! Got used to it sort of, so now I'm just trying to get an exercise groove back.

Tracked today! And, I realized I didn't adjust some of my tracking yesterday and was actually 3 calories below with all that junk! Now some of it could be a bit off, but still, it just makes me so happy.

Did good today. I started Slim in 6 by Beachbody on Sunday and today was my second day of that. I'm liking it so far.

I just finished tracking today...I am hoping to track tomorrow as well. I was put on two more weeks of sick leave (I can't remember if I said that before) so I have to wait to see what the scale tells me when I get back to work.

I am not doing the best job at resting...I have to actually work on that!

I like having you two doing this challenge...you are both inspirational!!!! (not for me resting...but rather for all that you DO!!! :-)

I tracked yesterday, and the scale went up agian....and I stayed in my range and worked out! But I'm taking it in stride....I have big water fluctuations, so I think that's what's happeining, I think I really just need to stay the course. I'll track again on Thursday as planned.

I may consider tracking a third day as well, I'm going to watch and see how I do by Friday...

I tracked today! Particularly proud as I munched on some of the goodies and rather than stick my head in the sand, I tracked it to the best of my ability. The good news - less than 50 calories over. And, trust me, it's good, cause some of it was junk. I can do well until I get in an afternoon meeting and then it's still just bad. But, it's the beginning of the week and I'm hoping to make up for it on a couple of other days.

I'm trying to mix up my snacks as well and it ain't easy.

Tracking today....I entered my breakfast and lunch last night to speed the process!

I'm in a snack rut right now....mostly I'm having fruit (seasonal, so right now it's apples or tangerines) and protein, string cheese is my favorite right now, but I'll do jerky, or nuts too. I need to find something to mix that up a bit.

Scale weight jumped up this morning....it's that "TOM" thing, I know the pattern, but still gives me great motivation to track today! Probably had a little too much chocolate the past few days!

I did not track this weekend, but think I did okay. Ate at home all weekend and not a lot of snacking happening. Tomorrow, I'll be back to tracking.

The added benefit is more Spark points! I'm not usually one to watch this, but I've been spinning the bonus wheel more and feel like it's coming from my nutrition and fitness tracking.

I agree about knowing what works together. I'm the same way with breakfast, many times lunch and generally my snacks, though I'm trying to come up with a better afternoon snack.

I think for me what works about tracking a couple of days a week, is getting used to what foods work well in the tracker, so I can work that into my days that I'm not tracking. The easiest for me is breakfast, probably since it's more routine, and mostly the same thing most days.

I do need to watch the snacking when I'm not tracking though, I find if I'm hungry I hit the sugar more....this did not used to be my issue, I was always a salt/crunchy food fan! Something to watch out for...

Day 4. I ate dinner out (brought half home for tomorrow) so tonight is part of a day off. Happy that I've tracked since Monday, though.

I did my tracking yesterday, it went well, but I was low on fat! That never happens....not sure why it did yesterday...

You guys are doing great, and Adlin, I like the easy tracking too....it's nice to be able to copy the foods from one to over to the next. Like you, my breakfast is often the same or very similar from day to day. (Mostly what varies is what fruit I choose!)

Day 4! Did the half a peanut butter sandwich again today and liked it. Also, doing a little mix of my own for the late morning with a few pretzels and peanuts. I sometimes throw in Ghiradelli dark chocolate chips, but am now out. Alas, no banana for tomorrow either, but I may take another fruit. Depends on what I can find in the pantry (yeah, it'll be canned peaches, one of the few fruits I like canned, or applesauce, whichever strikes my fancy).

I have been packing lunch the night before and it's great! I'm also pre-tracking since tonight's dinner is also tomorrow's lunch and breakfast doesn't vary much. Gets a jump start on it.

emoticon great job!

I'm not sure where I got the 20 grams from....but I think finding what amount works for you is a good idea. 16 sounds good too, and if it works to keep that satiety until your next meal, it sounds like you hit the spot!

I'm tracking today, already packed my breakfast/lunch for work. It does make it easier to stick to it, knowing I have a good, healthy, balanced meal plan.

You know, I added half a peanut butter sandwich (one slice of bread) in addition to a Greek Yogurt and a small banana and that worked (18 g of protein, so I was really close to your 20!)

Today was day three of tracking for the week. Feels good to be tracking again... both my food and exercise.

Adding in some protein helps me with breakfast. I shoot for 20 grams minimum with a meal, and find that I am more satiated longer with that amount.

No tracking yesterday, but I'll be back at it tomorrow...which is good since I'll be at work, and there are those temptations...but not so many as at Christmas time!

Day 2 tracking here. Probably going to be at the top of my range, but I'm trying to watch what it is. Includes a fruit (yay for me), but first day back at work and I tend to munch at work. Gotta work on not doing that. Thinking I really need to bulk up breakfast but not sure yet what I'm going to do to get that done.

Great goal! I added a tracked on the team challenges, if that helps. It always helps me to be able to check that box when I complete the day's challenge. Hopefully it will make sense the way I set it up, since I'm only tracking twice a week, I made it variable, from 2-7 days a week to track depending on what your particular goal is.

Glad to have you on board in this challenge!

Come join me in January on the tracking challenge!

I'm planning to continue my December challenge, and track twice a week in January.

For now I'm going for Monday/Thursday tracking, but may choose different days depending on what comes up during the week.

Anyone care to join me?

State your tracking goal, be it daily tracking or a certain number of days a week, and then post your results here on this thread.

Let's start out 2012 on the right track!
