Good night's sleep, no chocolate. A student presented me with a bag of cocoa nibs. Wonder if they count as chocolate???? emoticon

I just knew it would happen. Didn't get my 7+. Woke up in the middle of the night (darn those 8 cups of water--) and couldn't get back to sleep for an hour and a half. Oh, well. Should sleep good tonite.

On day 5 of carbs under 150. Got my sleep the past 3 nights. I have PLENTY of yard work to do this weekend, so I'm hoping the good sleep continues...

Got my sleep and on day 3 of keeping carbs under 150. I had to pass on the orange I packed for a snack when I saw it had a (whopping) 19 g! On day 8 of no caffeine drinks.

OK, blew it on sleep last night (6 hours) but I'm starting day 7 of no caffeine drinks.

AND....I actually managed to stay under 150 on carbs yesterday -- Will work on carbs again today, but that is seriously emoticon tough.

Day 5 of no-caffeine drinks. Even went out to dinner and got decaf coffee instead of my usual espresso.

BUT going out to dinner broke my streak on 10 days of no chocolate. It was a good cause, though because a local restaurant that was donating 100% of the proceeds from a certain chocolate dessert to one of the victims of the Boston marathon bombing. His step-mom had worked at the restaurant for 15 years, so the owners set up a fund to help with medical costs. My DH & I shared one of the desserts and took one home for my son.

Carbs are STILL over but I got 7.5 hours of sleep last night. Should be enough days left in the month if I'm able to buckle down!

Sounds like lots of you are doing great!! I totally blew it on chocolate by eating a chocolate-almond Kashi bar not even thinking until it was too late. Missed the sleep with the NCAA finals game last night, which might have been OK except for Michigan not winning (my boss' alma mater which would have put him in a good mood for awhile-oh well).

Anyway I went out and got de-caf coffee to start later this week. I'm going to give the chocolate-fast another shot too. Hope I can do better!

I'm doing better than I have for years with sleep this week. My sparks carb. guideline is 152. I have kept my carbs between 88 and 152. Have kept calories within sparks guideline for my weight. Will have to get my exercise routine back on track.

I have celery, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower cut up in the fridge for easy snacking too. I also have oranges, blackberries, strawberries and bananas for when I want something sweet.

I've been doing all the eating tricks: keeping a bowl of ready cut celery, carrots, cucumbers in easy reach in the refrig. Having smaller size fruits at the ready. But there are times I blink right over them and go after the ice cream, etc.
Sometimes I know I need a big bowl of discipline at the ready!!!

Thanks Paul!! My tracker shows my carb goals as between 183-322. Probably should keep to the minimum so I think I'll go for staying under 200 but trying to get the minimum in (183-200). I think that would be a challenge for me.

Anyway next week I have to go in for a medical procedure that involves a one day fast. Really NOT looking forward to that, and obviously will interfere with challenges here. So for next week challenges, I think I'll shoot for no caffeine week or maybe getting in my sleep. That's if I can sleep with my stomach growling!

To be honest - I just picked 100 - sounded like a lot of carbs. You can modify the challenge to meet your needs so long as it is a challenge.

I'm off to a really bad day food wise. I'm out of control and need to get a grip.

Hmmm, sleeping is hard because here I am up at 4:50 to get out of the house at 6:15. I am usually a tiny bit over 100 carbs because I need a banana a day or I get leg cramps at night and that's around 30 (yesterday I was at 104 for the day). I was going to go for no chocolate but had a sample of a dark chocolate covered walnut cluster at the grocery last night.

Oh well, maybe next week!
