Candy, it's great to hear from you, especially with good news. I was thinking of you tonight. Someone at work bought honey wheat pretzels and M&M's from the vending machine. I ate some of the pretzels, which I love.

I had delicious dark chocolate covered almonds. They were so good that I kept eating them. Maybe I had 20. Fortunately, I stopped and I did not have any more candy or other treats!
On a more positive note, I avoided eating when I got home at 930 PM. I used my new trick of having a cup of herbal tea. Even that I have to fight obcessiveness with. I restrict myself to one 8 Oz cup only.

Candy, you haven't "been bad" you've just been less than perfect.
The vending machine streak is huge! If you think about it, you'll probably find something you're streak has taught you. I know you're streak has helped me!

I'm so proud that I resisted candy corn yesterday! Today, I gave it all away.

Recently, I've fallen into some "all or nothing" thinking.
On days when I ate a dessert or candy, I had another. Realizing that I was doing that helped me return to my goal, and I got through yesterday without sweets!

I have a beautiful no desserts streak. It was supposed to be until a wedding I attended this past Saturday. At the wedding I ate the cake but I took nothing from the dessert table!
I decided to continue...
Monday was not so successful. We went to Mexican restaurant. Dessert was included. It was not fantastic but I ate the whole thing. When we got home after seeing a lousy play, I finished my cookie dough ice cream.
Yesterday was very successful.
Today we have a party at work. I plan to eat homemade desserts.

Even though I had dessert once a week during September, this streak has been very helpful and motivating.

26 days without hitting the drive through. =)

I've been really busy lately as the campus is gearing up for fall semester. I've just had time and energy enough to hit my trackers and log in points each day. But I'm still moving along. =)

One week without hitting a drive-thru. I won't even let myself get a drink through the drive-thru. Now I haven't said no fast food (not yet at least), but the deal I made with myself was if I wanted fast food I had to get out of the car and go inside to order. And I can't have someone else pick me up something when they make a trip, either. Since I'm self conscious about eating in front of people and worrying what they might think about me when I'm ordering fast food, I think making myself go inside is a big deterrent.

Once I get 30 days, at least, under my belt with the fast food thing, I'm going to add no more pizza unless it is homemade. Right now what we mostly do is freezer pizza and occasionally get a take-and-bake. But I'm going to work on cutting that out too. It's too much of a regular thing right now. But pizza is what I'll tackle in August, maybe starting on my birthday!

That is a good one Raihala! If you start to pull into a drive thru think of us and speed out of there! I can not tell you how powerful this little streak has been for me. there have been times when I had a moment of weakness due to stress at work or just thought I was hungry and headed down the hall to get some chocolate or other junk out of the machine, but I remembered this streak turned around and went directly back to my office. I may struggle with other things, but I will not buy junk from a vending machine.

OK I got through May with at least 6 freggies per day. I admit there were some days where I was hunting through the fridge and freezer to get the last veggie in for the day so I didn't break the streak. I'm going to see if I can keep it going through June.

I didn't make it on the soda streak. emoticon I did it during Lent, and now knowing that I can have it makes the pull that much stronger. Things are pretty stressful right now, and I think I'm using soda (caffeine) as a crutch to get going in the morning.

I made it the entire month without using the vending machines at work for any type of food and no chips at all.

I like your idea Jan this month instead of taking something away I will add something to my routine. I will do 10 push ups and 5 sit-ups each night. I have attempted this before, but failed. If I get stronger I will add to the number later in the month. I will also drink 10 cups of water each day. This is something I really need to do.

I will also keep my vending machine and no chips streak alive.

You people are taking on this challenge. GO TEAM!!!!

AWESOME PAUL! You inspire me keeping this streak going strong!

I have (humbly) managed to get through April without any desserts whatsoever, except fresh fruit. And now I have to come up with a new healthy streak for May. Not sure if it will be giving up something again, or maybe DOING something instead (like at least 6 freggies daily) but I will let you all know tomorrow.

I drank my last soda at home last night. For now I will continue to drink it at work and when I go out, but someday I may tackle that habit, but am not ready. Home is a pretty good start and I like the water here better than most places.

You guys are an inspiration. My streak will be exercising for a minimum of 20 minutes at least 5 days a week. Exercise is a toughie for me, but I feel so good once I get started.

Awesome!!! I am on day 23 of no dessert. Made it through Easter with the help of a beautiful fruit salad that my niece made.

LOL, don't give me credit I don't deserve---I bought them cannolis because I'm not a fan of them. It was really tough looking at the case with the tiramisu and fresh gelato, but I knew if I bought that it would have been dripping down my chin before I pulled out of the parking lot...

Good for you on Day 5! You deserve a big CONGRATS for being so good when it's nearby!!!

I turned down dessert at the banquet Friday night & they offered me fruit instead, which was nice. Last night, DH & I went out & we just had coffee after dinner so--yeah me, I made it to Day 5 too.

Girl you are awesome. If I brought someone treats I probably would have ate them on the way home and stopped somewhere to dispose of the evidence/sack or box. LOL

You are doing fine. I am glad to see you here. We need more team mates posting sharing ideas struggles and success stories!
Day 5 no Vending Machine junk. I bet the guy that owns the machine wonders why business has slacked of so much. (I hope I didn't eat THAT much out f the machine, but I very well may have.) Now what to do with my extra money. LOL Actually fresh fruits and veggies are pretty expensive too. But they are worth it.

Great for you both! I gave up my favorite late night snack for Lent--SkinnyPop Popcorn and haven't had any. But that's easier for me than what you or Paul are going through since I only have to walk by it at the store. I can't have it in the house.

I'm also giving up desserts for April. Only fresh fruit. That one will be tougher, like yesterday I went out to lunch and the place had an amazing market with all kinds of pastries. I brought home three fresh cannolis for DH & my sons, and nothing for me. Tonight I'm going to a banquet and will have to JUST SAY NO. Tomorrow night we're having dinner out so I'll be tested again.

You two are awesome!!

Day 2 no vending machines. Let me explain that these machines are literally next to the door to my office and I have to walk by them at least 10 times a day or more. I counted and the machine closest to the door and it is exactly 25 feet from my chair.

But the candy that Paul has been resisting is probably in a bowl at every turn at Hersheys. If you can do this Paul I can do this!

Even though I have been at my no vending machine streak for a few days. I am OCD so I want to start tracking it on the first.

Day I No vending machine junk! emoticon

Now I am thinking about giving up chips. Corn chips, potato chips anything like that. They are tasty, but they have no food value at all.
