Just a quick check-in before we dash off to deliver the first of the Easter bunnies!

This past week has been pretty bad, I am sorry to report. Ate too much, had wine twice, and didn't get much activity since I was working at the bunny ranch. I even ate some rejected dark chocolate bunnies, but not too much. Oh gee ... I had a buttermilk bar. Flog me now! emoticon

I *did* have a sauna! That is primal, nothing like sweating it all out.

Anyway, tonight our dinner will be out somewhere and as yet unknown. I am determined to make the best choice that I can. Next week will be better.

Sounds like you're cruising along great, Dee! Congrats on the inches, Zoey!

Today was great!

First I did an hour of yoga, then we rode our bikes around for about a half an hour, and then we walked in the woods and on the beach here at the house for another half an hour. My honey has a messed up knee (old ACL injury) so he's having to go easy, so therefore the bike riding. That seemed to work although he was very bummed about not being able to do yoga.

Today I'm pressure steaming a couple of artichokes. Yesterday we had them with homemade aioli and today I've made garlic-lime butter for dipping. Cheesy potatoes to go with them. Sort of carby, but we're leaving to go up to the shop for a couple of days so I'm trying not to create leftovers.

Success on the beer front, drank the approx. pint and a half that was left and didn't have anything more. :)

Yesterday we literally sat in our chairs and read all day. Not very active, but a much-needed mental health kind of day. I'm counting it as a primal success.

I'm personally extending my 21 day challenge to the end of the month. I feel like I haven't been as diligent so I'll just do a bit more. I'll hang in there with you, Dee!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Saara

SEDGEY ... you are doing great. I have to start tracking, I have been off since I got side tracked with a cold, but I feel that I am back on track now. My plans are to start posting tomorrow.or maybe even today. It really helps me to stay accountable.

Well keep up the good work and thanks for the updates. I hope you will join me in ongoing challenges, to start on Feb. 24th until we reach our goal and then maintenance. I will create another thread if you guys want to join me.

Enjoy your day! ~ Dee emoticon

After last weekend's derailment, I've done better this week. I've had a lot of work so I've not exercised as much as I should, but I've done fine with the food.

Well, looking at my SparkSummary Calendar, I guess I've only missed 5 days of activity this month including today so I guess it's not so bad. 3 of the days missed were this week though. The calories over the weekend were pretty bad especially since I certainly didn't track all the booze. Oh well. Usually I wouldn't drink during a challenge, but whatevs. We still have some beer in a growler that'll probably get consumed this weekend, but I'll limit it to that.

Otherwise I'm feeling good and sleeping well. Yay!

Yes, well, no one is perfect. I ate a bunch of Cheetos yesterday. :/ My oh-so-not-helpful boyfriend brought them into the house. I also had wine and a couple of cocktails. *sigh*

The eating part was good though, except the Cheetos.

Today we're having dinner at friends' house so I don't know what's on the menu. I'm bringing some cookies which are not primal, but they are small and I can have one or two without worry. Also I'll just eat what I'm given. They're a brilliant older couple and may have dietary restrictions of their own, in any case, I'm going to enjoy good conversation, cocktails, and whatever I'm fed.

Life is not derailed by one meal ... or even a night of Cheeto bingeing. ;)

You are doing great!... yes, I am doing the challenge, but I have been side-tracked a couple of times and still struggling to get back on track after getting over my recent colds. It's amazing how I can slip back into eating all the wrong things, practically overnight and how hard it is to start eating primal again.... and I love it.

My intention is to start tracking tomorrow. Thanks for doing the challenge and keep up the good work!

Day 4: Took a walk, but that actually ended up being all I did today since I got so caught up in work. Basically sat on my butt, but I did get a lot done so that is good. My activity will be better tomorrow.

Got a few more carbs in today by smashing a banana with peanut butter, cream cheese, and cocoa. Also had roasted squash and carrots for dinner. Tomorrow I will have the pork loin chop that I've been meaning to eat. At least I'm staying within my limits!

P.S. I know the peanut butter is not allowed, but our almond butter went south. It must not have been sealed well before we opened it. Will get a fresh one soon! At least I stayed away from the Nutella. ;)

Is anyone else taking the challenge?

Day 3: Nothing terribly exciting to report, but it was a good day. I made myself a lovely carrot and fennel salad for dinner since I was eating very late. A few brazil nuts and some gouda rounded it out.

Did an hour of power yoga. I've only tried this particular routine once before and I wasn't able to do it very well when I last tried it. I did much better this time although I still failed on some of the extreme balance poses. Guess that proves that I'm improving even with my much more relaxed usual yoga routine. Yay! Down dog feels like a rest in this one. ;)

Tomorrow I will up the carbs a little since I've been well below 100 for the past days. Don't want to stress my system!

Sorry your tummy doesn't feel good. Try the fresh turmeric, if you can find it and if it doesn't resolve itself quickly. I was out for a week and did a bit of IF too. It's a good tool to have.

I could take of that leftover pulled pork for ya .... ;) Feel better!

Day 1 (Sunday) and 2 (Monday):

I started off my Challenge on Sunday with a lovely NY steak with roasted Brussels sprouts and carrots. Dessert was half a pomegranate.

Well, it actually started before dinner, but that was a nice kickoff in my mind.

Breakfast the past two days has been a very spicy turkey/veg/egg fryup quite liberally spiced with garam masala, chili pickle, and lots of fresh turmeric. I've been somewhat sick over the past week with some ambiguous tummy problems so I thought I'd try to cure myself with food. Wow, it worked right away! I was right as rain by afternoon. I highly recommend turmeric for tummy ailments. For good measure I'm continuing my "protocol" one more day at which point the fresh turmeric will be gone anyway.

Sunday, since I finally felt well enough to exercise, I did 80 minutes of yoga. 20 more than my usual. Today I did 60 minutes.

Dinner was turkey and leftover Brussels sprouts. Something more exciting tomorrow, I hope.

So far, so good!

How did everyone's Monday go?

I'm in! What's involved? I follow a ketogenic Primal diet and have read Primal Blueprint, just never done a 21 day challenge.
