My first goal was to start Feb. 1 this year to reduce my weight from 191 pounds to 150 pounds by Dec.30,2016. It works out to 21.5%.I would never start out with 10% or less go because I would likely not go any farther, it will not motivate me enough to keep doing it!! I have past this goal now.
My next goal is to lose another 7.4 % to get my weight to 139 pounds which is what I am working on now. After I reach this goal of 139 pounds by the end of this year my final goal will be to lose 2.9% to get my weight to 135 pounds some time next year. When I reach 139 pounds I will set my date for my final weight loss. I always want to start with a large weight loss goal first with a long enough date to reach it and I never set a goal of how much to lose each week. Each week since I started losing I lose less weight each week. It started with 7 pounds a week for the first 2 weeks and is now less then 1 pound a week.

Linda. I live in Canada. My time zone is Pacific Standard Time, daylight savings time. I have chronic kidney disease. I am 54 years old on January 12.
10% is good I have actually set a 5% just to give me a quicker goal to boost my spirits and feel accomplished. I had my first child in July and am ready to get back to healthy habits and get myself back to feeling good.
My goals are set for 2014 and I am ready to get healthy! I just turned 40, I just had a beautiful baby boy and I want to be a great roll model for him.
I am still following the eating plan and exercising too. Yesterday and today are hard (stressed out). Weight has been going up and down since I reached the 10% but I am still below. Don't think Holidays will be a major problem. I did get in the habit of smaller meals and snacks all through the day. Major problem at the moment is my MOOD.
