I second what FIT_WHIT has written, that is what the directions say and that is what my body reacts to best. I really hope you enjoy this challenge and that it works for you :)

I take a multivitamin and a flaxseed oil cap along with my other vitamins and I try to do that in the morning. I don't take BCAA'a but I do take a recovery drink after my workout and a protein shake (both have BCAA). I also usually have another protein shake during the day as a snack.

Hey Kayte!

Welcome to the team. I hope you enjoy this challenge-- it's definitely been a great focus for me the past three weeks, and I continue to look forward to getting better.

Did you purchase the vitamin supplementation package from BB.com? I got the starter kit, which comes with a multi-vitamin, fish oil pill, and BCAA capsules. I'm just following the directions on the bottles for how/when to take them, taking 1 multi and 1 fish oil per day (usually with breakfast in the morning), and 1 BCAA cap 45 min. before exercise, and 1 cap immediately after.

As far as the protein shakes go, I'm using mine mostly as POST workout fuel. I will drink a shake (1 scoop protein with water) within the 30 min. after exercise, and then usually whenever my next "meal time" is meant to be after exercise (varies, depending on WHEN I get to the gym during my schedule), I'll have a protein bar (Quest bars, or a few Jamie Eason homemade bars) and/or an apple or 1/2 banana to round out my "meal". I will break that "small meal" into increments depending on my workout, so I count the shake, protein bar, and serving of fruit as my meal.

Hi!

I will be introducing myself shortly on this board but I had a few questions before I start this challenge.

The biggest question I have so far is about how one goes about working the protein shakes and the vitamin supplementation into your everyday routine. What sort of schedule to you adhere to? Is the shake something you just drink after a work out? Or during?

I can tell that everybody has their own solution based on their lifestyle so I really welcome all responses. Thank you in advance!
