Wow..this challenge really fizzled. I was sick with the flu from 1/11 ~ 1/15..and that totally threw me off.

A challenge right after the holidays is a hard one. I've started a simple February challenge that should be easy to keep up, even if you have to away from Spark for a few days...

Hope to see you there!

I LOVE the videos!

For the cardio, I put on some of my new iTunes downloads and danced around the apartment for 1/2 hour, lol! One of my friends is borrowing my Playstation with Dance Dance Revolution, so I have to get that back from her too! Since it's like -20 windchill here right now and super icy, walking/running outside is awfully rough!

By the way, did you guys have trouble finding where to track for Day 2 for the strenght training? I did.

In case you didn't find it, for this exercise we need to go back to the page where the video is and scroll down and its at the bottom...

So sadly I am out of 140ville....and now just wanna get back in. This past two weeks (on vacation) I've been trying to curve my appetite/carb cravings, drink more water again, and get into a health-conscious mindset. I have also been working some on decluttering around me so that I can focus better on my work and on me. Tomorrow, I hope to start healthier habits some more (can't buy food during lunch...so I have skipped many lunches for months....I gotta start bringing in lunch regularly. Also, I hope to join a fitness/dance studio tomorrow as well.

I like the New You Boot Camp Challenge. I hope to be back in 140ville by the end of January (maybe even be halfway out). Early on in my vacation I (once) hit a high of 161lbs, but since then I've lowered my plateau to a low of 155 (today)...so I'm getting closer...140ville is certainly doable.

So, without more a-do. I'm in for the challenge....and ready to take your place in 140ville as you make your way to 130ville!!!

- Susan

I'm signed up too! I've kindof been stuck in the suburbs of 140ville lately, but this challenge should help me to move back into town.

BTW if you're struggling with the amount of emails in that challenge from people ignoring the no new topics rule, here's how I've dealt with it (I posted it over there originally).

Gmail helps a ton! I'm getting around the big message volume by using my two gmail accounts (it would work with one gmail and one other, too) to weed out the irrelevant posts. Here's what I did:
1. After setting Gmail as your email in SparkPeople, open your Gmail account.
2. in the upper right corner of Gmail, click Settings, and then switch to the filters tab.
3. Click create new filter
4. in the "From:" box type (*@sparkpeople.com) in the "Has the words:" box type: (coach_nicole OR "Your SparkPage" OR "Coach Nicole").
5. Click next. The key step here is to enter your other email address in the "forward it to:" box. This way, your second email should only receive messages from coach Nicole or mentioning her, or notifications that someone has commented on your spark page. I also chose to skip the inbox, star it, and apply a label I created, called "Spark"
6. If you want to apply it to existing messages, check that box, click update filter, and you're done!

It works like a charm! Another nice feature is that even on the address I use for the filtering/forwarding, all of the messages for a particular board are in one conversation, so I can delete all of them in one click. And in that conversation thread, only the messages that contain my criteria have a star, so it's easy to tell at a glance which ones are important. Now if only my filter would separate the emails with my criteria from the rest of the conversation, without me needing to forward them out of gmail!

ETA: Oh, and...

Anyone here signed up on SparkPeople's Boot Camp Challenge? If you aren't aware of this SP has a Boot Camp that runs throughout January, that started today, January 4th. I am signed up for the Boot Camp Challenge and I was wondering if anyone else here is signed up, too. Coach Nicole leads excellent short exercise videos and I was thinking this would be fun to do as a team.

Here's info on the challenge if you haven't signed up yet:

I did day 1 today, and the 10 minute video is a fairly easy.

Let me know if you want to do this as a team - I was thinking we can our progress here, as follows, and check off each day as we complete it, like this:
