Ahhhh... glad to have some insight on the spitting ! Hey, whatever helps... I wish she had a cup though ! I agree with you about Anna - she is a beast at these exercises. I try to stay with her when I really want a super intense workout. I love watching Chris and Lloydtoo - the big guy in the back, and the Army guy. They make the power moves look easy.
So Tania does drive me a little nuts but it's mostly because I'm jealous. I use her though as an inspiration to push harder. Like in the Fit test I'm like yeah I beat Tania. LOL!! I take her and Anna as inspiration. I think Anna is who said that it was like being in a playground in Month 2. They're both really strong and really kick- butt. Mandy in Month 2 isn't bad either. Ariel also is just so flexible. Have you seen her in the stretches? I agree with the person who said that Shaun T is a bit touchy-feely with the ladies. I can't stand him though when he's all like "I'm smiling because I love it" when he hasn't done all the moves like we have!! I do see the girl who spits. I wondered if she has acid reflux because I do and I have to have a little cup when I workout to spit into regularly. I know it sounds gross but just giving a possible reason.
Phil.4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me!!

Sounds great ! You are inspiring your family !
Your BF% and muscle% will definitely change. You will probably see those change more than the weight. That is good though because muscle burns more calories (and makes you feel great to be stronger) !
I meant to tell you yesterday too - be sure to drink your 8 glasses of water (I'm sure you already know that). Geez I get in 2 before the workout, 2 to 3 during the workout 2 to 3 during my work day and usually about 2 at dinner time.
Also be sure to eat good carbs and plenty of protein. Use the Spark tracker to help see if you're getting enough. When I started I followed the meal plan book that comes with Insanity because my eating habits had gotten so bad I felt like I didn't even know how to eat right. After about 3 weeks of following that plan closely I got the hang of eating better and starting making my own choices. That little book definitely helped though.
That'll be fun when your daughter and son get into the workout with you. I keep challenging my daughter to do it with me. She tore her ACL and meniscus in April, had surgery & is just back to normal now. She was a high school and college cheerleader though... so she's pretty strong and tough as nails... on second thought... maybe I don't want her to do it with me....it may be true when Shaun T says " I don't know where you're laying right now.. on the couch, on the floor..you got to come back to reality"... I might truly be laying on the floor if she gets in there with me !

Thanks for the advice and inspiration. I think I've gotten my kids interested as well. My daughter would have already tried it, but she wrenched her back in soccer and is trying to recover without missing any soccer games, Her mindset has really shifted this past 6-8 months and she's gotten taller, slimmed down (she was never fat) and is more interested in getting muscles and toned. My son, who is not nearly active enough has a very active girlfriend that runs cross country, etc. He did the fit test last night and realizes he needs to get into shape too. So far, I'm struggling but pretty happy. I'm proud of myself for getting up early every day this week and getting as much as I could done. Today I did finish the recovery DVD and raced to the shower...actually got to work a few minutes early even. My scale, although I am not convinced of the accuracy also shows BF%, muscle%, so I will eye that up to see if those number changes over the course of this journey.

Morning is a great time to work out. I am the same way. It's time when there's no husband or kids are demanding. I'm usually awake by the time I'm half way through the warm up !
My suggestion for starting on an empty stomach is a banana and maybe a couple triscuits before the workout - light but something for energy. I always drink 2 8 oz glasses of water before I start too. you might also purchase a protein drink from your grocery store, a little cheaper than the formula he recommends, but helps - I drank a little during the workout on water breaks.
It is better to do some of the workout than to do none of it. You may find that you can move your clock back 5 minutes at a time and gradually get more in. Work your way into it.
When I first started I could only do a few of the reps too. Yes - you will get better as you get stronger and more fit. Remember it will take time. We are not starting like those people in the video ! When I first began I could only do 3 pushups. I just kept pushing Play and I'm happier with where my body is. This is a journey and it may take time, but you are committed, that's half the battle !
Do some extra stretches in between the exercises, and add some foot stretches and ankle rolls into the main stretches, in between and at the end. Also grab a couple times a day to do some gentle stretches - it only takes a few seconds. I didn't have foot cramps, but I did have a little knee pain here and there and something that resembled a shin splint. Rest an extra day if you need to. I had to stop 3 times during my first round of Insanity because I kept getting a cold ! I still saw results!
Be careful with the jumping since you're having foot cramps. Go slow and controlled.
For stretching your feet try rolling up on the balls of your feet and gently back onto your heels. Also you might try a massage roller (cheap in your local drug store) or having your husband massage your feet a little at night.
I hope this helps ! Message me any time and I'll tell you anything I know ! You can do this !

I started Insanity this week. I am NOT a morning person, but there is no where else I can find a block of time to do much. I started gettting up an hour earlier this week, through my workout clothes on, stumble downstairs with my water and "just hit play". 1. I would love to look half as good as the girls do..they just look SOO fit, but I am concerned that I am not in good enough shape to start this when I did the fit test I did ok, but when I did day 2 and day 3 I could only do a fraction of the reps. Did anyone else here have that problem? I assume as time goes on I will get better. 2. I'm not sure I can handle getting up any earlier and I am having a hard time getting through the DVD before I have to call it quits so I have time to get in the shower before my husband and kids do so we all get out the door to work/school on time...I've been doing the first set and the stretching and into the first couple of the second set..is this better than not? 3. I wear orthotics, but today my feet were cramping up so badly I needed to take some stretch breaks so I could continue...I may need to figure out how to strech my feet out before I begin. Has anyone else had this issue? 4. I'm doing this on basically an empty stomach w/water breaks due to time...Anyone have suggestions for changing this?

yeah, Month 2 is killer - but when I was done with month 2 I actually didn't want to go back to month 1 when I decided to do Insanity again. Month 1 seemed easy... LOL, oh my did I just say that ? I see more results in month 2 also, so it's worth it !
Oh.. the other girl that I get a kick out of is a blonde who is really really athletic. She's the one who says she feels like she's on the playground when she's doing side to side jump rope in the month 2 warm ups. I watch her when I really want to work hard and get my heart rate up !
Now I'm going to have to look for that girl spitting on the floor hahaha. I never noticed it. Tonia doesn't drive me nuts - her facial expressions were kinda drill team looking at times but I liked how she could beat the guys. I got tired at first doing Insanity but I wasn't eating enough. I can tell I have more muscle now than I have in the past and I'm a lot stronger. I'm in week 7 - those month 2 videos are making me cry for month 1!

Ok.... it's not Tonia that drives me nuts.... it's that long haired very very slim girl who actually SPITS on the floor in Cardio Power and Resistance ! Come on... I know we're all working hard, but NEVER have I wanted to SPIT on my floor !
Yeah... the facials are kinda funny... but then again, I'll bet I make some good ones too during this workout.. LOL. (BTW... this was an old thread from previous leaders, not necessarily our viewpoint). I'm with you on the being focused on keeping up part !
I wouldn't say she drives me nuts...honestly I'm usually so focused on keeping form and not dying to notice her or anyone else, but I can see why some feel neg toward her. She gets so much attention in the first month and so many of her facial expressions are staged looking.

I discovered about a month ago that Tonia is actually around 39 years and has a baby now. So... that makes her a little more human. Watch her for inspiration, she has great form and lots of determination !
Jen... Im having the same problem and the answer I get is that muscle weigts more then fat! Im on my 4th week and I have lost 6lbs.. and was hoping for more. I know how you are feeling! And eating all my calories is very hard sometimes..but they say you need to eat to lose.. this workout kicks our butt but we need to feul our body.. I dont get the intake on calories nd working out and then your resting metablic rate.. I was told that you need to burn more then you intake...and Im pretty sure with this work out we are..lol I also took my measurments and lost a inch in my legs and they say thats what counts. We can do it.. I was really upset the otherday but if I get upset and I fall and Im done.. just keep going..we will see the result just very slowly! Good Luck!

I am on week 3 of Insanity and I have maybe missed 2 of the workouts due to travel, but I also add in Pilates twice a week for 60 minutes so on a few days I have double workouts. I haven't seen ANY weightloss and in fact I've gained 1 pound! :( I am completely exhausted after the sessions end, so I know i"m giving it my all, but I'm getting frustrated. I did improve significantly from my first fit test to my second. Anyone have any feedback on this? I'm curious. I try to eat healthy, but it's hard!! Also, I've noticed that SP tells you how many calories to consume, but what about when you work out? Are you supposed to add the calories youve burned to the total calories you should intake? Anyway, I love this fitness program, but just want to see some results!!!

Just finished day 6 here. Tonia doesn't drive me nuts but I do like that she's the ONLY woman who really SWEATS!!!! I turn into a sweaty mess when I work out, even more during these Insanity workouts. It kills me that these women don't sweat. :) Oh - and my calves feel like they're going to explode.

Once I finish working out today I'll have completed week three.
Tonya doesn't drive me nuts, although I'm a teeny bit jealous of her perfect skin and amazing body.
What does drive me nuts is that Shaun T. seems to be all touchy feel-y with the ladies (especially Rachael and Tonya) and rarely comments on the guys who are shoved in the back and pretty much ignored.
Lloyd has AMAZING form and speed, and I think Shaun T. has pointed that out once. My favourite person to watch is (I don't recall her name) the blonde gal who is self described as "over 40" (like that's a bad thing).
She actually wears a shirt and seems to struggle a bit more than the others, which I can totally relate to.

I'm on Week 3, Day 19. I feel great, I am exhausted! Is everyone following the eating guide? I tend to just eat clean, non processed foods but probably need to start tracking. I don't think I eat enough. I don't think the scale has moved but I'm afraid to check! I don't really care about the number on there, I just want to lose inches and body fat-belly fat mostly!
Tonia doesn't bother me, she's hard core and I can tell she's psyched to be in the video. she worked for it!

Why does Tania drive everyone nuts? I think she's pretty kick-ass! She looks great and she keeps up with most of the workouts, which I think is very motivating. I also love in the fit test how her numbers are way higher than the other guy's for a lot of the moves.
I'm starting Week 4of 9. I haven't noticed any weight loss, but I feel a lot better, and I feel stronger. Does that sound similar to others' experiences? I am trying to go down a couple dress sizes to fit into my clothes from a few years ago when I weighed about 10 lbs. less. I don't worry about the scale so long as I can fit into my clothes nicely. Any comments?

I finished Insanity about a month ago, and I didn't see a ton of results in regards to weight loss. However, it does depend a lot on your body type. My BMI went down about 5% when it was all said and done. With that, my total weight loss was 6lbs. I actually bulked up with muscle, and I did go down 4 dress sizes. So basically, if your clothes fit the way you want, don't worry about the scale.

I started seeing results in month 2, not really month 1. Also, my results came more in inches than weight. I had less weight to lose though so that may make more of a difference. There was a difference for sure in my before and after photos but it was def inches, not weight.
Do you eat enough? Maybe you work so hard during your workouts that you have bonked so that is why you are so tired after the workouts. Also, maybe you need a post workout snack or recovery drink so you can recover quicker. Give that a shot.

I have a couple quick questions that maybe someone can help me with? I've been doing Insanity for about a week. I've noticed that after I do the Insanity workout(a couple hours after), I tire more easily going up the stairs, walking uphill, etc. Is this normal? I would of thought that I would tire LESS after doing Insanity, since it improves cardio. But I've been finding the opposite to be true.... Also, when do you start seeing results(as in weight/fat loss)? I am not following the Insanity diet, but I am eating healthy and tracking my foods with SP.
Thanks for any help! :)
And yes, Tonya does drive me nuts... There are actually groups online that talk about how annoying she is :P

What workout did you do today? Do you have a pushup question? Do you want to know how to do a particular exercise? Does Tonia drive you absolutely nuts? Do you want to know when you will start seeing visible results? Just want to chat about the workouts? Post it here.
