Homemade is best. Commercial dressings don't even come close.

Agreed! Forget the commercially prpared dressings. Use quality oil and vinegar and a shaker bottle for a nice emulsified dressing. Add some fresh herbs and a little brown mustard. Yum!

I don't mess with store purchased salad dressings. Instead I use vinegar & salt/pepper, vinegar & oil, or lemon juice & salt/pepper. Vinegar like distilled or balsamic are what I use. Good luck!

I like catalina, but not found a recipe I like. I'm going to keep trying.

And you can make your own homemade french/catalina that is South Beach legal.

Yup read the labels and follow the 3gms per 2 tbsp recommendation. Most salad dressings fall within except for things like french/catalina.

As far as I know, there isn't a list of 'legal' salad dressings. The rule for prepared dressings is less than 3 grams of sugar per serving, or make your own. So you need to check the labels while shopping.

There's a lot of salad dressing recipes in the SuperCharged book. The Ranch is REALLY good!
