I've always been aware of my weight and until the past 6 years or so, was able to keep it in check with exercise and being careful about my diet (without actually dieting).
My weight has always fluctuated by about 8 lbs but never really went over 132. Once I started on some anti anxiety medication, I began gaining. Not too much in the beginning, but once I "retired" I gained a few more and then I broke my ankle...a few more, then I got a client that wanted to eat out every time we got together (virtually every day for 9 months), a few more. My dad died..a few more, quit smoking....and so on. Now here I am, 30 lbs heavier and nothing but excuses!
The most frustrating part is that what used to work, doesn't seem to do the trick anymore. Between my metabolism slowing down with age, the medications and a more sedentary lifestyle....ugh. I've been going to the gym on average of 4 days a week (some days 6 and a few days off during my cruise). I haven't been 100% on track with my diet, but I definitely haven't been eating MORE calories and yet I haven't lost a lb.
I feel so much healthier and am going to give the SP diet another go....wish me luck!
