Ok, so this looks like it breaks down to approx. 33.33 minutes per day. I'm pretty much at 20 now. I'm in. I probably won't make the 33 at the start, but I should certainly be able to build to that. Have been walking and enjoying the scenery. It's supposed to start raining here Monday to Thurs., but someone mentioned the mall here is open to walkers, so there is an alternative.

I too, love the mapping feature here, as once you put in your route you can save it. I think I've got 3 different walking routes saved at this point. As far as tracking nutrition, it does take forever sometimes. I do find I have better luck finding the foods I'm looking for when I search other people's entries instead of just SparkPeople's. I love how if you have the same thing for breakfast everyday you can copy the whole thing from one day to the next.

I know what you mean as far as filling in all the daily spark stuff. It can be time consuming. I don't track my food that often anymore unless I am checking to see what the calories are for something. To help you out though, if you want to track your steps or even the miles you put in cycling and walking. Go to MyFitness and select Change Fitness Goals there will then be a box you can select called "mileage tracker" and "step tracker" I use the mileage tracker for all my walking/jogging and cycling. The route mapper is great too (I think). Since you count your steps the step tracker may possibly be useful for you.

I just haven't invested the time necessary to fill in all the daily Spark stuff. I mean, it would take me hours every day to list my food (since I don't eat most of the stuff listed, which means I have to research and do the math to fill in the tracking details for recipes that I make myself and which are never the same twice), not to mention exercise, goals, etc. Can't figure out how to do some of it, too. For instance, my main activity that is labeled exercise is walking. And I track my steps, both total and aerobic, distance and time. Can't find where in Sparkpages can I report those.

So. Let me simply state that I am making my goal of 4-5000 steps 5-6 days a week. We walk just about every day. But I have good days and bad days, we both do, so sometimes we don't walk for a day or so. :) Since our average walk is 45-65 minutes (with hills!), I think I might be meeting the exercise minutes goal...and that is a big change from 6 months ago.

My goal for October is to get back to cycling. This requires a trailer hitch rack to carry my big recumbent trike to more level areas till I work my muscles back into doing hills, LOL. And refraining from a heart attack starting out! We got the rack ordered, coming next week, and the hitch installed yesterday. emoticon

I decided this month to do a month long challenge! We can do this!!! I took a look at our tally for Fitness minutes last week and we are doing good. So this month I thought I would up the challenge. Join me! 1,000 Fitness minutes! I know some of you are real close. Some may find that number a bit daunting. If you do, have you joined the goal of getting 400 Fitness minutes a month? Give it a try. When you break it down, it's really not that bad!

Let's DO IT!!!! Let's get moving!!!
