Thank u Seattle I have Lidoderm patches and I just got this sport tape called rock tape which seems to be helping a lot and looks kind of cool lol. I appreciate u all for being so kind and understanding unfortunately are society does not look so kindly upon the unwell, too busy it is pretending to be all well and good I guess oh well. We are all in this together please continue praying as they say it "works"!! Erica
I am so sorry to hear of your additional pain and agony, Erica. It looks you've been getting good advice and about all I can add is that when my hands, wrists, feet, ankles were the very worse with an RA flare and most all the time before being on a biologic, I would use pain patches all over so I could at least get some good sleep. ThermaCare has patches that warm as soon as they hit air. I love them! And have used them almost continually with my OA knee until I got a Cortisone shot and my oh my, that's so heavenly! I also know that when I'd get really bad I'd call my Rheumy and he'd prescribe the tapering Prednisone and that was the only way I could live. Good luck to you in finding soon relief. We all know how it feels and we all can enter in to what you're going through so we can try to help you too. Karen
hi, Im trying to rest and sleep but the cruel thing is I really cant I have a lot worries and tumult going on I live in a crappy noisy environment, without much privacy. Actually I wish I were working I take care of pets and they make me feel sooooo much better! and I can rest there plus get physical exercise which I need! Again thank-u everyone so much for ur concern and please keep the prayers coming I am also having breathing issues uggh I know. Erica
hi Ericka,...I didn't look to see how long ago you were in your flare. I hope by now it has eased...the advice you got is all good. I'm flaring too....it's going on for weeks. I know how it can seem never ending. Prednisone. helps. I hope you get in to see the doc early. August seems like a long time away when you are in pain, but it will go fast...Do you have to work or can you sleep and rest? Do you work or have little ones to care for? Ihope each day gets better and better.
Yes Jani I am doing all of that, thanks for covering all the bases. I just hate when it gets like this it takes so much away from ur life. I Know I have to keep the faith and continue on as best I can and ask for help, I appreciate so much for everyones concern on these boards, Erica

Wow, so sorry you are going through this. Can your primary doc help at all until the rheumy can see you? Some prednisone or something? Does the rheumy have a cancellation list? If not I think I would call every day and see if someone cancelled.
For some relief I like: • gel ice packs icewraps.com/ or many other stores and websites, even blogs about how to make your own; • Aleve (naproxen) 1 pill a.m. and p.m., takes a few days for maximum refief; Imak arthritis gloves for hand pain www.imakproducts.com/ to find your size; hot baths with epsom salts.
Man this is bad off meds pain all over and cant get an appt. with rheumy till end of August waiting in vain it seems for a cancellation. The heat and humidity is making it worse, no doubt but every move is excruciating as u all know very frustrating and depressing. I will be doing physical therepy again but cant get in there until after next week geez I know. I want to be hopeful about all this that something will avail itself to me to deal with life better. Thanks all, Erica
