Hi, Linda as always thanks for ur encouragement and giving me some semblance of hope! I have vicodin for emergency pain like this but it gets me soooo nauseous and loopy granted it does help with the pain to an extent I guess. Yes u are remarkable how u get thru all ur stuff I really admire u! Did u cancel ur spark page? Thanks for the tip with the celebrex I will try it out tonight also like u I have poor sleep and I know this contributes to our plight. I was on remicade but got too many infections I am hoping something will avail itself as far as meds goes so it does not get really bad. Maybe u can give me ur e-mail? And i will try to contribute bit to the daily chatter, again I appreciate ur concern. Erica

Hi Erica, so sorry to hear you are dealing with this :( If you take your celebrex early, with supper, at least three hours before bed, you won't get heartburn. Its ironic, but all the pain I am in right now is because of my right hip and I know I need a replacement, which will make it number 6 joint replaced. It gives me my life back -as long as you pay attention to instructions after surgery and follow through with proper exercises. All my replacements have taken out pain and given me my movement back, had no complications. I never found cortisone injections to work for me. Its too bad you couldn't try Remicade -I found that really effective, but took a reaction to it after five years which is what usually happens with those infusions.
I haven't been able to sleep a long time because of pain even in spite of a slow release narcotic my Dr. gave me. When I wake up, I take extra narcotic she gave me to try and control the pain and go back to sleep.
Please join us in the daily chatter post at the top of the page. The women there are great and supportive and talk about all thing RA good and bad.
Thinking of you,
Linda

The past month or so I have been having bad left hip pain to the extent getting up and down steps hurts and is difficult of course I live on the 2nd floor I am hoping it passes like a few of these things I get. I am seeing my rheumy Jan 31st hopefully he can give me a shot of cortisone or a new med. I am even thinking of getting hip brace. My mother has had both her hips replaced and I certainly do not want to go there! I may take at least a celebrex tonight of course it is worse at night like the middle of the night alas but sometimes i get heartburn from it, the celebrex. Well thanks for listening all I am also going thru stressful stuff with life situations a not great living arrangement etc. which as we know never helps. Take care, Erica
