This month's challenge is easier. I use the term "easier" fluidly as we have more control over this. It's nutrition focused.
As much as feasible, we're eliminating processed foods. Incorporating more fruit and veggies. Sparkpeople generated meals make meeting the nutrition goals easier. We're making lifestyle changes. I lost 30+ pounds on nutrition alone. Nutrition is the central focus, so we're going to track our food for at least five days per week. If you feel like you're at that level, maintain the goals from the July challenge as well. I suggest that everyone maintain fitness activity, this will deliver results and we want results. Step this up a notch.
A cool calorie calculator (I'm not a medical professional, so I cannot confirm that this is best for everyone.) based on the Harris-Benedict equation for basal metabolic rate:

You may need to adjust the calorie limit as set by Sparkpeople if you choose to use the Harris-Benedict equation. What I like about the equation, it factors your activity level. I know the Sparkpeople calorie calculator does as well, but this one is a bit more interactive in that you can pose hypothetical weight goals and it shows the calorie intake needed to get there with or without activity.
