I look forward to reading the posts that people place on this sight in reference to each chapter that they are reading in the book.
As I was reading chapter four, what stood out to me was Lysa's saying," Think it over."
I admit this is an area I still struggle with today. I can have the best intentions, but somehow I slip off and eat something that was not on my plan. Thankfully, I have my husband as a voice of reason. He has caught me many times and has helped me to put down certain foods I would have eaten. Sadly, I still mindlessly eat at times. When the desire to eat comes to me, I don't immediately ask myself," Do I really need this, or am I just eating out of emotions."
I agree, accountability is a very important part of success for learning how to live a more healthy life style.
Lysa had shared of how when we determine to get healthy, we will set foods aside, we will make a sacrifice, we will abstain.
So far I have been able to abstain from drinking soda. I am so happy about this because I was drinking way too much soda. I have also cut down on portion sizes and am making sure to eat my veggies and fruits, but I still got to watch the cookies, the candy and the chips.
My prayer is thus: Lord, help me to be more aware of what I am putting in my mouth. Help me to remember that the sacrifice is worth it in the long run because in time I will feel better, be more energized, but above all bring glory to God.
Taking one step at a time to see change.
