OH the Women's soccer/football was stunning. My husband didn't speak to his Norweign collegues for over a week. (The ref for the Canada/USA game) was Norweign.

He felt very hard done by on some of those calls.

He's just a little sports obsessed.

I actually got to go to the rowing out at Eton Dorney. A bronze for Canada - it was hard fought for.

What's your sport?

At present walking is my thing - though swimming is on the agenda. I HATE being hot when I work out. Ah - I miss Alberta winters....NOT.

Soccer is never on when I'm watching! it's always rowing or water polo it seems LOL. I want to see women's soccer so bad! I've tried watching some online but the videos freeze up and I miss a bunch (Like a whole gymnastics routine...) Oh well, I'll find a way to see some! :)

How about that soccer game today between US and Canada. Om my goodness was that a great game (at least if you wanted the US to win). Can't wait for the gold medal game on Thursday.

I am also loving the olympics! They are always a bit mesmerizing...but this year especially I am so inspired! I have learned over the last 8 months that I have a bit of an inner athlete in me - something I would have laughed at in the past. I have pushed myself physically - running, kickboxing, dancing, strength training - and I'm still over 220lbs. I've been learning to love tracking progress and loving to sweat also...I think it makes me feel like I can understand these olympic athletes a tiny bit more, and watching them inspires me to keep pushing and push harder. The human body and it's capabilities are so amazing - It's great seeing some in action in top form!

So far some of my faves are beach volleyball(especially women's), swimming, gymnastics...I'm looking forward to the running events and soccer!

Now, we just have to make sure not to spend too much time laying around watching tv - hard to tear ourselves away from all the coverage! Bonus if we can work out while watching! ;)

I just watched the opening ceremonies last night with my mom, it was a great show. I'm looking forward to watching some of the games this weekend.

I am really enjoying watching these games with my now 3.5 year old son. He is obsessed with swimming and wants to watch everything except refuses to watch soccer or women's beach volleyball. He keeps telling me how he wants to race in swimming. We have decided to put him back in lessons again even though I used to be a swim instructor. I generally just work on stuff with him every time we go to the pool but since he has shown a real interest in the sport this is a good time to harness that interest.

LOVE watching the Olympics! My family is making a daily habit of watching them every night...starting with the opening ceremony! My boys love watching the boxing, swimming, rowing and gymnastics. My favorite events include swimming, gymnastics, rowing, diving, table tennis, cycling, and...well, pretty much all of it! It's amazing to see these athletes who are the best in the world compete. It's motivational, inspirational, and awe-inspiring!

It is attitude, not circumstance, that makes success possible in even the most unlikely conditions.

I love when the Olympics are on. My boys and I watch everything that we can. I enjoy watching most of the sports and like learning about the ones that I don't know too much about. My favorites are swimming, gymnastics and volleyball.

As a former high school volleyball player and coach, I'm enjoying the indoor volleyball (beach doesn't do much for me). I also like to see the lesser seen sports- watching table tennis now- amazing.

My favorites though are the races- swimming and track, and the velodrome cycling. Also really love basketball.

As someone who used to have her eyes set on being an Olympian I obviously find the Olympics to be very inspirational and motivational. Does anyone else? What sports do you enjoy watching during the summer Olympics?

If I could have my way I would watch all the sports; however, the ones of particular interest to me are: rowing; swimming; triathlon; cycling and diving. As a past rower and swimmer and future triathlete; I don't anticipate these choices changing anytime soon.

I don't just enjoy watching the sports themselves but all the spotlights on the athletes around the world. I don't know what broadcasts you are watching in your part of the world but I do know in Canada they do a great job of representing athletes from other countries and telling their stories and I think that is wonderful. This morning I watched a bit on how Usain Bolt's family has been giving back to their community in Jamaica.

So for me it isn't just about the amazing feats of strength, endurance and flexibility that the athletes bring to the table (which is amazing in its own right) but it is about the entire experience. Of communities and countries being brought together to celebrate achievements. And it often amazes me that sport can do that but then when I think back on my past experiences in sport it doesn't really amaze me at all.
