I got a toddler to eat healthy foods that her mother couldn't last night. I had made salmon with the Weber's Grill Marinade that is Seseme Ginger with orange juice. The toddlers mother said "She won't eat salmon that is not out of a can." LOL I told her to watch and the kid was stealing the salmon off my husband's plate after she finished hers. I then showed the mom, what I had seasoned with and let her try it.

Well, needless to say, what I actually accomplished was sharing a low fat high taste food with another family in a way that they can easily prepare and enjoy. I also shared the asian style green bean recipe that I had made after mom tried it.

My victory was sharing the spark, and hopefully setting a little girl on a better eating path.

What is done is done. I will not dwell on it. I will move on and learn from my past. I love myself.

I logged into SparkPeople after months away. I updated my weight, adjusted my ticker, re-introduced myself on this team, and wrote a blog.

I actually swam a few laps last night! It was only 3.75 laps, but it was more than I have done in a long time. My goal was 5, but asthma started to act up and I am without an inhaler until I can get to the doctor...

Did a bunch of stuff outside for work. Instead of going to the nearest fast food joint, happened upon a store with a salad bar and stocked up on salad & mixed greens (it weighed 0.44 lb.; don't know how much that equals in cups). About to eat it now.

I chose to NOT eat brownies for breakfast. I made them last night and havent had a single bite ! :) Which is a big deal for me bc i love to eat. Especially if I am having a bad/tough day.

If I absolutely MUST eat fast food/food outside of the house, I'm way more choosy than I used to be. I'll pick the item(s) with the lowest calorie amount(s), stay away from heavily fatty and/or sugary items, and I won't accept soda as part of any meal (usually water).

Finally starting to be able to walk without my lower back muscles tightening up to the point of tears! Woot!! --Also my knee has not starting bothering me again as of yet!

hugs everyone, hope everyone is having a great day.
non scale victories - feeling stronger and stamina is getting much better, also cheated and checked my measurements before time, and lost another 3 inches emoticon from my neck, chest and waist.
I am on day 18 of the food lovers program, which is great. Its basically Tweaking my food habits, but still being able to eat all the foods I enjoy eating, etc....
Also already surpassed my fitness minutes for the week. Completed 250 mins. + which is awesome. Overall this has been a great week.

Together we can do this.

I took my monthly measurements and found I've lost 2 inches around the waist and .5 - 1 inch everywhere else!

A month or so ago I went looking for some new jeans. The ones I had been wearing were way too big, but the skinny jeans all looked awful. I was too demoralized to keep shopping. I recently went back to that store, ignored the skinny jeans, and tried on the boyfriend jeans. Not only did I fit into a smaller size, they looked great! I now have stylish new jeans for the first time in years and am looking forward to getting into some of my old clothes soon.

During the last week I've started walking on my treadmill. It was so hard to do 15 minutes at first, but I've started listening to dance cardio on Pandora & it's given me more energy to keep moving. I plan to add at least 5 minutes every week & walk faster. emoticon

I noticed i can do a lot more on the elliptical machines at work, usually i would do 5 mins and give up, now i'm up to between 15 and 20, I also work with some amazing trainers who are nothing but supportive at every little milestone emoticon

In my Yoga class today I held my plank (high push up position) steady for the whole time the instructor directed. I was never able to hold it for more then a couple seconds before. Also downward facing dog is begiining to feel less like torture and more like the resting pose I'm told it is supposed to be.

A lifestyle change is still one day at a time.

After much convincing from my DH about new jeans I caved and bought some. Apparently he did not like the way the old ones were too big. I went from a tight size 20 to a comfortable size 16! That gave me some much needed motivation to keep going!!! emoticon

While digging around in my dresser I saw a denim skirt my Sister bought a while back hoping it would fit one of of us one day. I decided to try it on again. It buttoned right up, I'm not even wearing any "support" garments under it and it fits just fine.

A lifestyle change is still one day at a time.

Yesterday I finished the first of the Nike Training Club workouts I decided to pick up - 30 minutes - very hard - Called Wipe out.
I am a bit sore today - but I finished it!

I jogged for 16 minutes on the treadmill at 5.5 mph. Not something I could have done a few weeks ago.

My pants are falling down. I think I'm going to have to pull out my box of clothes that are too small. I was annoyed at having to pull them up all the time...then I realized it was a GOOD THING. Lol

I was able to jog 3.25 miles in 20 minutes. My goal was 3.1 because I am going to run a 5K in June that I am training for. So happy!!

I have finally been able to hike again. I hiked for 40 minutes on a multi grade trail. So Happy :)

I don't want to look back on my life and say I wish I had... Instead I want to be able to say I am glad I did...

finally measured myself tonight.. I've lost 6 inches on my hips, 4 on my waist, 2 on my upper arms and 1.5 on my legs!!!! So excited!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't had coffee, soda and chocolate since my start date. This is huge for me because normally I need a cup of coffee before I start my day. I still have that unopened 3 pounds of chocolate I got as a christmas gift. Being a chocoholic, it's a big deal to resist that temptation everyday. I think It will be a reward, 1 piece of chocolate every time I meet my goal to lose at least 10 lbs. a month.

My pants felt loose today, so I got out the tape measure, and viola! I lost inches in my hips and thighs in the last two weeks!

All my pants, jammies, sweats, fit MUCH looser (more loose?) than they used to. And one of my pairs of Levi's.. I don't have to unbutton/unzip to get on/off!

Of course this means the jeans keep tying to slide off my butt if I don't have a belt on, but yay!

Oh, and I only have one more hole in to go on my belt before I need a new belt.

Well behaved women rarely make history.

I tried on my tight fitting jeans today and they now fit really good!! I'm not down a size yet, but I feel like I am getting close. Also, I have had to increase weight on multiple exercises during my weight training sessions. I feel stronger!
