Congratulations on getting to the end of your first month on SparkPeople. I hope that you are finding lots of helpful information and resources on the site.
There has been discussion on the team thread about having a team goal. What I have come up with is a distance challenge, that we can all participate in. I live in Canada, and I know that Hannelie lives in South Africa. Those are the two farthest points that I've read for our team members, so that's what I'm using.
The distance is 8,300 miles.
Here is how the challenge works:
Start from the team page, and scroll down to the area that is called "Team Goals", and then add that goal. This will then show up on your "Other Goals" tab, and you can track it there.
If you click on the goal from the team page, you will be able to see our progess throughout the month. Here is the link to the team page: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_individ
Also, if you are doing a type of cardio that isn't mileage related (like a fitness video, or wii fit boxing), use the formula of "ten minutes equals one mile". Hopefully everyone will participate!
