Got my pedometer a new battery a few weeks back; it's one you can wear like a watch, has the time & button to check your heart rate. I've been very inconsistent but really want to one day reach that 10,000 steps per day. Only been averaging about 2,000-3,000 b/c I don't go anywhere/do anything. Going to start walking at lunch time. Have a bad knee, so I know some days will be better than others, but I'm restarting... (1,273 so far 2day)


If anyone has any suggestions/tips for a non-walker, they will be much appreciated.

September Goals:

1) 5,000 steps / day
2) get outside walking at least 20mins / 3x week

New 2012 total:1264 km/785 miles...

So for my first 2 weeks of August I did:
92 km / 57 miles...
That includes running, long walk by the lake and a bike ride (19km)

Here is my latest update:
June: 184.11 km/114 miles
July: 238 km/148 miles

New 2012 total:1172 km /728 miles
Hey - I crossed 1000 km !!! and I have been much more active this month despite the fact that we were very busy with our move...

My training for my 13.1 miles in Sept is going well. I completed a 5km Virtual race (on Spark!!!) and we have our bike back ... great for cross training

Zacevetob - I post once a month at the beginning of each month... Hope to see your progress again ...

Distance Challenge - Go the Distance!!!

My distance currently is 10 km / 6.2 miles per a week
On a month i would like minimal 40 km / 25 miles

See how it goes i may change it if i get better at it.
In Month of July I have so far:

1 - 7 July : 43.8 km / 27.2 miles
8 -14 July : 8.4 km / 5.2 miles
15 - 21 July: 20.4 km / 12.7 miles

2GETFIT7! So... how did you do? This month for me was ok... less than I had expected; many days were without distance because I had to spend a lot of time around the house (because we just move!)...
Here is my update:
June: 184.11 km/114 miles
New 2012 total:934 km /580 miles

I am trying to keep a steady running schedule now in prep for my next race at the end of September...

I am starting running again and my goal is to run every other day in May. Since this is my first month back, I will keep track of my distance and see how far I run! I'm excited to get back into it.

April: I mostly kept up with my running training plan. Considering that I have been sick for 2 weeks and that we are in the middle of a move, I am happy with my progress! My miles for this month include running, cycling and walks. My longest run was a 12km…

My total for April is : 91.25 Miles or 146km
New 2012 Total : 567 km / 352.75 Miles

My Distance May Challenge will be to get ready for the Cabot Trail Relay! Here is a description of my leg (level of difficulty 5 out of 5 – total distance 15 km) :
Start time : 2135. This leg is for people who like running up hills. The first 3.1 km are just to warm up & get you to the base of MacKenzie Mountain (otherwise known as The Snake) and back in the national park. The route then climbs 385m snaking back & forth up the side of the mountain for 6.2 km. It then levels off for the rest of the leg.

APRIL is here! Here is my distance tracking...

March was mostly running (eliptical and biking for my cross training are accounted too) Because the weather is nice, Jeff and I are going for walks and I love this.

My total for March is: 112.5 miles or 181 km...
My new total is 421 km or 261.5 miles for the year...

Tomorrow is March!!! Wow! Here is my distance tracking...

January- Report #1: 85 miles (136km). This might seem low (considering that my personal goal is to complete 1500 miles by the end of 2012 ; so 125 miles average / month... ) but compared to last year same time (74 km), it is almost twice the distance !

February- Report #2: 64.6 miles (104 km) - I am happy with this! I am running according to my training schedule for my HM (longest run since my injury- now running 9km) and I am doing my cross training too. I enjoy my almost daily yoga - so no distance there!.... I also swam - but is did not track the distance for this!

My total so far: 149 miles or 240 km...

I try to get a minimum of 10,000 steps or more daily, which is just under 5 miles for me, but some days I get much more and other days somewhat less [when I'm sick, injured, have a lot of other responsibilities or some other temporary challenge]. I'm trying to do better this year and so far in 2012, I've averaged 25+ miles a week with a minimum of 20 miles and a maximum of 36 miles.

This is a great idea! Now that my husband is gone I'll be doing a LOT more walking with my daughter(I don't drive). I need to dust off my pedometer.

As a guesstimate I'm going to go with 25 miles for the rest of this month. Then, for March, I'll re-evaluate.
