Yeah, despite my extra weight, training in martial arts is a great way to stay fit...I've been doing it for 7 years now and I'm working on my 4th Degree Black Belt...have been teaching for about 3 1/2 years and currently help manage a local school in my city. I'm really hoping losing this extra weight will help improve my techniques because I test for my next rank in 2 years so my plan is to take the first year to lose as much extra weight as I can and the second year to readjust my techniques to my "new body"...

Too bad there isn't some way you could teach us martial arts. We all need it.

That's EXACTLY what I plan on doing this weekend HEIDI...cooking up a storm to warm up my house. Have a guy coming to look at it tomorrow night after he gets off work and he seems to think it's just the thermostat so I'm crossing my fingers. I teach martial arts full time so maybe I just need to double up on my classes tonight to stay warm...ha, ha!

I don't think shivering does but the jumping jacks and other exercises to keep warm will add up. Hope you get it repaired soon.

I feel so bad for you. One good way to look at it is at least it's not winter yet. So now you can get it fixed and should be good for you when you really need it.

I'm thinking warm thoughts for you!

I just remembered, when our furnace went out on us last year, I used the oven all day. I was baking, I roasted a chicken, different things to keep the kitchen nice and toasty. Maybe you can find some great recipes here and use your oven today for dinner.

I hope you have lots of winter clothes. It is bound to take more calories to keep warm.

Well look at it this way - you now have more incentive to do some cardio or strength exercises! emoticon emoticon

How many "activity points" do I earn for shivering? My heat pump went out at my house three days ago so I have NO HEAT in my house and the average nightly temperature has been below 35, so I'm wondering...does SHIVERING count? emoticon

I hope everyone has a warm and toasty Friday!!
