When I eat on a smaller plate, I visually see much more food than on a bigger plate (same amount). So it is a good trick for the eye.
I bought two beautiful smaller plates in a discount store for me and my husband to use.
It makes a difference.
I always wondered why when I have company, I use the best china but for us just regular plates.
That was easy to change.

I forgot to mention that before this time around (of losing weight), I also ate very QUICKLY.
That habit took time to change. Most of the time I now eat slowly.

Mimi.....I have always been a food lover and lots of it! I think I learned to eat lots of food at an early age as I come from a huge family and food was always, and still is, the heart of any get together! I am trying hard to eat bigger portions of healthy food instead of the higher calorie and fat foods. One thing i need to do is use the smaller plate, I really think I would make out better,. I just haven't tried it yet!!!

I love to eat and lots of it. I love all kinds of foods. I'm more for bread and butter foods than sweets. The only food I don't like is beets. I know they're healthy but....
If I ate what I really like in large portions, I'll be large very quickly. I can gain lots of weight very easily by eating very healthy foods in large quantities. So portion control is very important to me.
I eat from on a small plate, and the plate is very full.
I now fill it mostly with free power foods vegetables. I always have 1 serving of starchy vegetable too.
My favorite now is butternut squash, baked in the oven.

2. emoticon Do you love all foods (healthy and not)

3. emoticon Do you still eat lots of quantities, especially vegetables?

4. emoticon Do you eat all your meals on a smaller plate, or do you use dinner size plate for dinner and maybe other meals?
