Spagehtti Squash!

Only 1/2 a cup of Butternut squash is 1 point.

You may have 3 cups of Spaghetti squah for 1 point!!!

What a great way to eat more and weigh less.

I ran to the store and bought Spaghetti squash on sale for 49 cents a pound, and it's now cooking in the oven.

I'm sorry... It's not the answer
I re-wrote the question so it will be clearer:

How many cup(s) (maximum) we can eat and still count it as 1 point of:

1. Cooked Butternut Squash
2. Cooked Spagehtti Squash

Butternut and winter squashes are 1 pt for 1 Cup.

Spaghetti squash and summer squashes is 0 points per 1 cup.

When Lisa was active on the team, She had us try a new food item and tell about it. I tried the spaghetti squash, which I had never heard of before, for the first time and I looked up the points values. I was surprised that the Spaghetti squash was 0 points. I think I am right.

I think it's 1 point per cup for the spaghetti squash and 2 points for the butternut.

Am I right?

Thanks Nell
Very interesting that the calorie count makes it a vegetable exchange.
Is spaghetti squash still a starchy vegetable even it counts as a vegetable exchange, or not?
I'm learning so much about winter squashes.

Spaghetti squash was always on the legal vegetable list back when we weren't allowed pasta on the WW program. That was how I learned about it.

Caloriewise it has about 40 cals per cup vs 80 cals per cup of acorn squash.

I didn't know it was a winter squash, but the calorie count makes it a veg rather than a bread.

According to this link, spaghetti squash is a winter squash.
Does this mean it's a bread exchange?
I may be wrong...

All the starchy vegetables are bread exchanges: corn, peas, winter squash, potatoes, most in half cup quantities.

That's very interesting. I had forgot about most of the exchanges.

Thank you, Nell
Do you know why butternut squash is a bread exchange?
and not a vegetable exchange?
Are they both considered starchy vegetables or only the butternut squash?
Is starchy vegetable a bread exchange?

Don't know the points, but butternut squash (winter squash) is 1 bread exchange per half cup, and spaghetti squash (summer squash) is 1 veg exchange per half cooked cup.
