I couldn't think anything new to try. I have eaten Edamame and I love them. I also eat Veggie burgers, I love them but as you said they are a bit pricey. I eat a lot of beans. I eat deer meat, and Buffalo meat too. But I never eat eggs, only egg beaters, so I ate Hard Boiled eggs. Real eggs.

Hmmmm...so the only person who was brave enough to try something new was Nancy?? WTG Nancy! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Edamame! Yea, they are work. That's why I eat them as a snack. Keeps me busy! I buy them both ways, but either way I eat them with my fingers as a snack.

Last week I tried a few different vegetable protein options. I got cheese that was made of VP and also tried some Vegetable protein sausage. They were both ok. May or may not try them again. I guess if I had a coupon or they were on sale I'd get them but not gonna buy them as is. I also tried Veggie burgers and those I liked a lot. Kinda pricey as well but I would be more likely to purchase them than the others.

The price of edamame is usually less expensive in Asian grocery stores.

I buy there two lean proteins:

1. Frozen edamame
2. My favorite! Frozen broad beans, also called fava beans

Both are so yummy

I'll celebrate 10 years of maintenance on July 2nd, 2014!

I tried endammane. Not sure if I spelled that correctly. While I eat a lot of soy, I haven't tried this before. I did like it, but didn't realize I'd have to get the soy bean out of the shell and that was a bit time consuming. I think I could have bought some already shelled, but it was more costly.

Filled me up and was pretty good. I'll probably try them again, although not that often. Just as an occasional something different kind of thing.

Today's Challenge: Try a new source of lean protein that you never had before. Have fun with it! Make sure you also get in your 2 tsp of healthy oil PLUS 6 (8oz) glasses of liquid, drink/eat 2-3 servings of milk products and consume 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables.

Question of the day: Share with us what new source of lean protein(s) you tried and how you prepared it/them. Did you like it/them? Will you have it/them again? Did you learn anything new this week? If so, what?

Now, go eat your 1-2 servings of protein, enjoy your oil, drink your liquids and eat your fruits and veggies as well as drink your milk and other dairy products! I look forward to hearing all about your lean protein adventures!
