I get what you are saying. I most often listen to books... when I run to music I let the song 'carry me'. Fast songs and I am really cranking, quiet songs I go with the song. I like it all, it breaks up the run ... (I did not list any of my quiet songs.)
I can't run with music. As a dancer, I am driven to stay with the beat. If the music cadence is off, I struggle too much. Even if I were to sit down and deliberately create a playlist, an off day would mean my cadence was off... it actually induces more stress for me, really.

IMO Queen has the best beat of any group for running. I never run so consistently well as when I listen to Queen.
I tried the Jurassic Park theme, but that was our halftime show music when I was in school and it is so ingrained in my head that I can't do it! LOL

I have no "goal weight". MY goal is to be as healthy, strong and active as I can be. This isn't about my relationship with the scale but my relationship with the world.

I'll check your song list out.
(Obviously I accidentally put this in the wrong place -- nutrition. My apologies!)

Any really cheesy "yacht rock" stuff seems to work for me. Some examples:
"Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts
"Steal Away" by Robbie Dupree
Just about any song off of Christopher Cross's debut album
Call me weird, but that stuff just gets me going. Go figure.
