Absolutely. Calories are not the be all and end all. All calories are not created equal. I particularly look for proteins and dietary firber as they are filling. I do not neglect carbohydrates because there are essential as fuel for my body and my brain. At one point I was carb starving and I was constantly tired and hungry. When I got them in balance, I felt much better.
