I think I'll be doing a lot of waddling Sunday, I'd say from Mile 20 on....maybe even some crawling too!

no actually I don't own a duck costume, but I have often said that I run more like a duck then I swim like a duck. :-) I tried my best not to waddle today.

I am still doing well. Right now I am munching on pineapple and honeydew melon and sipping coffee. After I am done I will be going out on a run. it's a very nice running day.

I sounds like I am in a war zone, actually when I look at my car it also looks like I am in a war zone. there is a lot of shooting going on. Ducking season must be on the go and the is a camouflage boat in the harbor below our house. And my car, well Rhyan ditched it last night. :-) Our furnace is (again!!) no longer working (oh and it's about 18F) and Mark has a new computer system coming today for his lobster boat. And I thought December was an expensive month!

I'm back guys. :)

I had a long post on the other thread, and a blog, but in a nutshell:

I quit working out. I quit thinking about food choices. I was trying to not eat anything everything but that's it. I'm back now. I'm doing Insanity and running a half in two months that I haven't trained for and my longest run since October was 3.5 miles. But I'm doing it.

Anyway, I'm back. I'll stay up with things after this post. I hope everyone is doing well. :)

Don't worry- didn't beat myself up over the cookie, but I also know myself- starting with the cookie makes it WAY harder to be good the rest of the day. It's a snowball effect for me. Surprisingly, the day went well- mostly because I didn't have TIME to grab anything bad for me! :)

However I ran 8 miles and lifted weights.

I got a couple more days left before I get serious about the tracking. I've been doing ok. Going over cals but not by a whole lot.
Can't imagine what this weekend will bring. I'm not even going to bother tracking!

At least you're running Gail, I'm fueling my fat. In addition to not running yesterday I went out to a nice dinner w/DH and gobbled up far too much food...grrrr!

Hi all! Quick drive by- sounds like there's some serious reforming going on here!! :) Hotdogs to fuel a run? That's a new one to me- I don't think I'll try it though.... I failed with a cookie first thing this morning. But I've got the rest of the day to do it right. :) Thank goodness for that!!
Ran yesterday, will run Saturday, hoping to get the kids to dance the night away with me tonight for my cardio :) They LOVE to dance- and it's good for me!

THanks for the comments and congrats on the 3 days Rhync! As far as eating right goes in my book that is a BIG accomplishment.

The problem is you can inhale 1000 calories in 8-10 minutes eating. But it takes 8 miles to burn it off.

The other problem is I love Junkfood!

Good Luck LBThomas on your goal this year!

Wow! It's great to read all these posts!

I am on day 4 of tracking my food intake & activity minutes which is a big accomplishment for me. I usually stop tracking after the first day. It's been difficult making the "better" food choices but I am getting there.

Well, I didn't win the Biggest Loser contest at work! Not even close! A guy had a 7% weight loss-I only had a 2% loss. Howevah, I'm thrilled with this because I LOST weight during a holiday season!! I just hope I can keep up the trend and lose 2.5 pounds this month!

I thought I was done with running to lose weight when I reached my goal weight a few months back. Unfortunately with the rest following my first HM this month coinciding with the Holidays (and just when I thought I was past that, my grandmother passed away and that lead to, of course, more sweets and piles of food!!), I now have the need to lose a few pounds. I am hoping to drop 4 pounds this month and be back at a more comfortable weight.

Yesterday I tried for it to be my day 1 but wasn't successful. We accepted a last minute dinner invitation. I went and ate what there was to eat, but to make it worse I also had some chip and dip before going.

today I will try again. But today I am going for a drive to the city. My friend (the same one who fed us well yesterday) is bringing her son to university. it's a long drive so i am going with her. again it's a day of eating out. So if I am not successful today i will try again tomorrow.

At least I appear to have my exercise back on track. Today will be day 7 in a row of intentional exercise.

I've decided not to concentrate on weight loss until after the marathon.

But, after that I want to lose at least 1-2 pounds in January.

My goal is a 5 pound weight loss in 12 weeks (as long as I don't gain anymore before the marathon). I know, that's a long time for 5 pounds but if I do it slower then the weight tends to stay off for me.

Hi everyone! I lost about 1.2 pounds in Dec, which is great considering the challenges of avoiding food during that time! I hope to lose 2.5 pounds (I'm ultimately hoping to lose 5 pounds by March 1 which will be my 2 year anniversary on SP!)

I lost 6.8 lbs in Dec, I'd like to shoot for 8 lbs in January. I fell out of the habit, so I'm restarting all my workouts, including Couch to 5K. I'm starting the month at 160.8 lbs.

My goal is to lose my last 5 pounds and keep it off forever!! If it doesn't all come off in January I'm ok with that. I will soon start training to run my second half marathon in May and plan to run one race a month from now until then.

Happy 2011

So many posts, so little time....

I'm not sure if I want to lose weight or gain more muscle. It's so complicated. I would like to look good in a bikini one more time and feel comfortable (not that I'd actually good out in public). This is my 50th year and I do think it's doable!

Happy New Year everybody! emoticon

Love the new forum Tammy- great idea!!

As the co-leader of the 5 Pounders, I'm looking to lose 5 lbs in January- they're gonna take away my co-leadership soon if I don't! :)
I've discovered that running 2-3 times a week + 4-5 days of ST works really well for me. I just need to be consistent with it.

I want to lose 10 pounds but I know it will not all happen in January. If I could at least lose 1 pound a week I would be doing much better then any other week last year. actually I would only need to lose 1 pound per month to do better then last year.

Hi, my name is Gail and I am running to lose weight. :-)
