Old post, but I need HELP! Running Disney marathon on Sunday! I hate the feel of the compression shorts....like I'm in a tight girdle or corset! I love the freedom of classic running shorts, but which would be BEST for a marathon? My thighs don't normally rub together.

I just recently started wearing compression shorts because other runners let me know they prevented chaffing. I found a great deal at www.rockbottomgolf.com. I don't know if they have ladies versions or if compression tights are universal. I got some Game Focus brand shorts and full length tights for $6.99 each. The work great for me. Just ran 4 miles in them at 90F. They still have them. They are 80% polyester and 20% elastic. I can't believe I got the tights for that price. I need to buy more before winter. The link is:

I just ordered the Pro tights.

I got the regular ones since Running Warehouse says they should work form 45-80 deg. It doesn't usually go below 40 here and it would be nice to wear them for more than one month especially considering the price.

They should be here tomorrow - I love how prompt Running Warehouse is with their free next day shipping.

I once bought cw-x (do I have that right) compression tights. the chart said small, all they had was medium but they seemed fine. I ended up having to bring them back because I couldn't keep them up when running. Really needed the smaller size.

I kept looking at the mens compression to help with the knees. But I worry about wearing them in the Florida weather. I wear compression shorts that are almost mid thigh. I won't run without wearing compression shorts. Keeps the thighs from rubbing for one, but noticed the difference in pace and energy.

depending on which you order, you may have to try different sizes. The CW-X size chart said I should be in a medium, but it would take 20 minutes to get into them! Large compresses me just fine, thank you! ;)

I actually prefer my capri length -

Interesting - I might just start looking at the 3/4 instead then - I though tights would be the way to go, but I guess the capris help the knees. Changing my mind again.

Just a question - what did you pay for them roughly - Also do that fit true to size???

I''m going to look in to the CW-X tights - my running tights for the winter are getting too big (yah!) and old since I've had them for a few years now. Sounds like I may need to start a savings fund for them though!

I love my CW-X tights.
Truthfully I bought them 'cuz they looked cool - and I liked having support for my much too heavy legs.

Now that I am lighter, I like my running shorts in the heat of summer. BUT as my runs get longer, I like the tights for support around my knees, so as it gets cooler I will probably migrate back to them. CW-X are way too expensive, but occasionally you can find deals.

I love mine... I have Zenza's and got them at Road Runner sports. I actually have 2 pair.

If my calves are tight I wear them on a run (assuming it's cool enough) - but mostly I wear them for recovery and sometimes I'll sleep in them before a long am run.

I definately would recommend them, but as with all things they might not work the same for other runners :)

good luck!
