Oh how I wish ours were on different days! That would be so handy! But, I'll take the weekends since I can get them. We have a few "treats" at the Farmer's Market in my little town, but at the neighboring town's market, oh my goodness! Treats galore! I had to pick up my pace and zip past them. I go on Sunday to theirs because less vendors show up. I know that means that the actual farmers will be there with their produce and that's really what I'm interested in. Tie my hands when I pass the baked goods! LOL!

Enjoy your blueberry picking! I'm enjoying my blueberry eating! emoticon

Good Monday morning everyone! I'm off to a good start today - did 3 Coach Nicole workouts plus an additional cardio/strength mix of my own (total about 90 min). Had to jump start my week after eating HORRIBLY yesterday & not working out.

I'm heading off blueberry-ing again Wed. Hope I don't pick as much this time - I don't have that large of a freezer but I do love blueberries year round.

Kathryn - so happy you have some control of the AC! Hot flashes are killer especially in heat waves!

Lyn - how goes the job front?

Cathy - sounds like you are taking full advantage of your farmers market! I want to check out several in the area - they are all on different days so I should be able to make the rounds & find new treats. My towns one is pretty small & half of the vendors are crafts not foods (my mom goes for the "treats" lady - brownies, cookies, etc.)

Wishing you all a healthy week!!

Kim ... I got blueberries at the Farmer's Market today. YUM!!! Even the dog is excited as he always gets the split ones to munch on while I'm separating them. Everyone gets treated at our house!!

Lyn ... here's hoping you do indeed have your job transfer! How wonderful it would be to get out of the kitchen with the immature staff you've had to contend with. Keep us posted!

Kathryn ... I'm glad for you that you can now control the thermostat and get some cool air when those hot flashes strike. You'll be so much more comfortable!

Deb ... hope your weekend is healthy and happy!

I've spent the morning at the farmer's market getting yummy produce, then home cooking some, prepping some for the freezer and having a lunch of fresh fruits and veggies. I also took a 5 mile walk this morning. It's been a GREAT Saturday!

Wishing you each a fabulous weekend!

Awww Kathryn, that is the worst....hot flashes and the heat! You have my sympathies and I hope you are feeling cooler soon! We lived without air conditioning for years and years but when that started for me that was it....air conditioning unit installed!

Oh, I love blueberries!!! What a great find!!

Kathy - Good morning! May today be your most successful day!!

I found out yesterday I may have the job transfer I put in for the end of last year. It's an extra hour, so I'd have 6 hours. The 5 hour position I had is gone, the superintendent took it away to cut costs. The cafeteria is always the first to get screwed!! This transfer will mean no more of the immature acting women!! That will be such a stress reliever!! I can enjoy working again and having fun!!

Hope you have a great day!!

Good morning everyone! Just dropping by to say hi! Went "blueberry-ing" yesterday with a friend & came home with about 17 cups of berries. I froze most of them but hoping to make something yummy this weekend with the rest but they never taste better than they do sun-warmed right off the bush.
Have a happy & healthy day!

Sunday was a half and half day but regrouped and made a new plan and off on my hike down the trail. never called it a diet after a Spark friend reminded me we all are diets some are healthier than others. since i enjoy hiking that is what this is hike to good health. scales are out on the kitchen table along with my measuring cups and my exercise bucket where i have written down exercise then i pick from the bucket to change my workouts each day. joining in the fruit challenge this week..

emoticon Kim! Sounds like a great morning taking good care of yourself!

I got a six mile walk in before church, then stopped at the Farmer's Market after church. Stocking up on fresh veggies for the week so that I have choices. That will make things easier ... make it easier for me to make right choices for myself.

We can do it!

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I've been a bit off track lately - not a major derailing just not giving it my all. Heat waves always mess me up! Had a great workout this morning - slow to start but just kept going before I realized it 95 minutes had gone by! Woo Hoo! I'm losing hope that I'll meet my 70 day goal but am focused right now on FINALLY making it to my goal I wanted to make back in January - - entering one-derland.....I'm ALMOST there & I better be there in August! I need to keep days like today going! I forget how much energy you have after completing a workout.

Have a great & healthy day!

Happy Monday!!

Kim, you did have a busy weekend! Hope you did have a good day of recovery on Sunday!

I made a list of veggies and am stopping by Whole Foods to do a little shopping this afternoon. The regular grocery stores just aren't measuring up on their produce quality. I think I'm going to have to use Whole Foods and the local Farmers' Market to meet my needs.

Hope everyone has a Great day!

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! Mine is going well. Had a blast yesterday - took my cousin out for the day & we went to Lost River Gorge where we played like kids. Running around the boardwalks, stairs, and playing the caves. I did not do many of the caves - haven't lost THAT much weight yet but it was fun watching my cousin (skinny minnie) wiggle through things like the "lemon squeezer" cave. It felt great being able to run up & down the stairs and not get (as) winded or have the knee pains I used to get. By the end of the 90 minutes of doing this, my knees were feeling it a bit (plus I had already done my Shred & additional 30min cardio before we left).

We slowed the pace for the rest of the day - grabbed lunch (tuna sandwich for me), drove the Kanc & played on the rocks along there, a few other stops, and then ice cream for dinner. My plan was a small cone in the afternoon & a healthy dinner but it ended up being a larger ice cream at 5pm & just called it dinner instead. Overall a great and fairly active day! I hope to have more of those!

Today...I'm moving SLOWLY - all that fresh air knocked me out! I did just finish an 80 min pieced together workout - not fast paced unfortunately but still worked it (45min cardio, 35min crunches, bridges, squats, chest press, chest fly, etc). I feel ready for a nap! Sadly we are entering into our 4th heat wave of the summer which is going to slow me down but I'm doing what I can to make sure it doesn't derail me. I didn't do my Shred today - I incorporated pieces of it into my workout but I am disappointed I didn't stick to my plan to Shred for 30 days. I'll dive back in tomorrow & try it again. Have to work off that ice cream dinner! :-)

Have a great and healthy day!

Happy Saturday afternoon!

It's been a GREAT day here! I've been to the Farmer's Market and purchased great fresh fruits and veggies for the week ahead. After I put everything away, my little poodle and I headed out with some neighbors for a 5 mile hike. What a great way to spend a Saturday morning!!

This afternoon. a little Georgia boy and his family are getting a new home. He had a tree limb fall on his head after Hurricane Sandy. He has a brain injury now. A local organization has worked hard to make this family a lovely home that is accessible for little Tripp. I can hardly wait to watch them get their new home.

It really is a GREAT Saturday! Hope you're having one too!

Good for you, Kathryn! You know, last week when it was raining here every day, I had the temperature set so the AC wouldn't run, but I was still chilly. I wore long sleeves every day. When I'd sit down, I pulled a blanket over me. In July, in Georgia! LOL!!! But, when a body is cold, it's cold!

Cathy your exercise breaks sound great you inspired me to take a break and work out with my hula hoop again this morning. That is two times today so far I have done my fancy toe touches, picking that hoop up off the floor. I also did 10 sit ups, 10 reverse sit ups and 20 push ups. That is my strength training for the day. I am also going on an 80 minute walk this afternoon. The weatherman says it will only be in the high 80's today. I can take that right now it is so chilly in my home office I have the ceiling fan off and am wearing a sweater.

Thanks! Our local urgent care is really good. Had X-rays - nothing broken, so it's just another! minor sprain. Rx is ice, elevation, Advil, and taking it easy until it feels better. I'll also call my physical therapist and ask how long to wait/how much better it should feel before resuming the PT exercises.

Well, today my 10K streak may be at an end (still to be determined). My right foot felt a little strange just before bed last night, but I just ignored it. When I woke up this morning, it was hurting pretty badly. It 's on the same side as where I've sprained my ankle numerous times, but doesn't feel like a sprain, and there's no swelling - it feels more like something is broken, but I've never heard of having a broken bone without swelling.

Fortunately, I can walk on it, and will be able to drive myself to the Dr. later this morning. So, today's taking action to be as healthy as possible is to call the Dr. as soon as they open to see if I should go in to them or to the Urgent Care for X-rays. I'm really hoping that this doesn't put the kibosh on my walking, but I promise to do what the Dr. says even if it's keeping off of the foot.

The real challenge will be to keep up with my Back and neck PT exercises while this is healing. I'll really have no excuse - many of those are done lying on my back!

Thanks for the overview of the DVD, Kim. Sounds like a complete workout for sure. I've been doing a lot of walking lately. I have osteopenia and the doctor wants me doing weight bearing exercise for the most part. I'm enjoying it for a change. Isn't it great to enjoy what you're doing!?

And, we're taking "Healthy Breaks" at work. Instead of going out for smoke breaks like some peers, three of us are going to the gym. We're each hopping on a different piece of equipment and exercising for 5 to 10 minutes and going back to our desks. So far, we're each sticking with the same piece of equipment. Suits me! I get the treadmill. LOL!!! It's a small little gym, so only one of each piece of equipment. And we're having fun!!

Good evening everyone!

I hope everyone had a great day! Mine was busy but pretty good for being mostly an errand day. Didn't get in an afternoon workout as I had planned but still did my morning one(s) so its all good. Got a little messed up on my food - didn't have a chance for lunch until 2:30pm so that threw me all off schedule.

It's weird that my tracker changed but thank you guys for noting that you had yours customized - didn't know I could do that. I figured out how & set my own ranges for now. As my workout intensity increases I may check in to see what they say I should be at but for now I know where I want my range to be. Thank you for your help!

Last night I did watch the Prevention 3-2-1 DVD I mentioned in an earlier post. It looks pretty interesting. They do 3 min cardio, 2 min strength, 1 min abs in each circuit and there are 6 circuits broken down as legs, chest, butt, back, arms, and shoulders. You can "play all" or select individually....the entire workout is around 45 minutes. It also includes a warmup (5.5 min), cool down (3.5 min), & a couple of bonus tips. Quick tips also flash along the bottom of the screen occasionally throughout the workouts.

I am going to give it a try soon but have a feeling I'll struggle a bit until I get the hang of her routines....it is very fast paced & I don't pick up movements that quickly. I prefer a little more instruction than she gives on some of the workouts. There is one person doing modified moves throughout all the circuits. Some times the advanced person has better form than the instructor (Chris Freytag).

For now I am going to stick with the Shred - attempt to complete the 30 days, maybe try a section of this each afternoon or something. I like that each cardio session is based on a different type of workout....for example, the chest workout is boxing inspired, shoulders is power yoga inspired, arms boot camp style, etc. So it'll give me a taste of some workouts I haven't experimented with yet. I've had this DVD for awhile (its from 2005!) but for some reason it's still running $14.52 (on Amazon didn't look around).

Have a great night everyone!

Good morning, all,

Kim, my Nutrition Tracker ranges didn't change, but I also have my range customized, so that may be the key to why it did not since two of us who didn't experience a change have customized ranges.

I did set up a test account and played with the change yesterday. It's nice technically. And, it did respect my customized range of calories which was nice. My only wonder is will it work for me because 1) my age and 2) my hypothyroidism. Even if I workout A LOT, I don't get to eat many of those calories and still lose weight. My metabolism is so much slower than what the calculators are set up for. I'm thinking I'll email Coach Becky and get her dietitian input. She's the one who helped me determine my successful calorie range to start with.

But, as far as how the software works technologically, I did like it and couldn't think of a scenario to trip it up. And I did try! LOL!!!

Kim, good for you for getting the frozen yogurt out and not having that temptation. I know that must make you feel better about yourself. It would me! I'm happy for you!!!

Have a great day all!

Happy Wednesday. No my ranges haven't changed. I have personalized them a long time ago. I might opt into the new system, just because I wouldn't mind seeing what the system thinks I should be doing. I set my ranges a while back, and using my bodymedia, I try to stay within a 1500 calorie deficit. Any more and I'm exhausted the next day. Much less than 1,000 and my weight loss stalls. So I'm already on top of this adjusting thing.

I hope everyone is coping with the summer heat alright.

Hi Everyone!!

Happy Wednesday! I had a decent day today....got up and tackled Day 1 of the 30 Day Shred. Had a few modifications but survived it! After a brief break I did another 40 minutes of cardio. My food was better today - - no more frozen yogurt in the freezer!

Did anyone else's nutrition ranges change part way through the day today? I know they made changes that you could opt into but I didn't make any changes but my calorie ranges changed during the day.

Kathryn: I don't know how you can handle such temperatures! Glad to hear cooler days are coming for you! We just had a heat wave in the 90's & it made it tough to workout but I think we're finally through it here too.

Pixie: I didn't get a chance today to check out the DVD but will pop it in soon & let you know how it is. Good luck tomorrow on level 2! Let me know how it is - I haven't peeked ahead.
Love your breakdown on meals - I had heard the main part before but love the "snack like a princess" piece! LOL!

Cathy: LOL! Love the slip of the tongue! I do things like that all the time!

Hello Progressors! I hope everyone has been having a wonderful Wednesday. My day was a good one. I did day ten of the 30 Day Shred, level one. Tomorrow I start level two, I hope I can hang in there with it!!

DEBBIE: How are you liking those OA books?

KIM (Tigtaz); Glad you started off with a healthy day yesterday with all that exercise! Thats impressive. Sorry you had to find out the hard way that you can't have frozen Greek yogurt in the house! Don't beat yourself up about it, just move on. Never a failure, always a lesson! I had to learn that lesson too....there is a soy ice cream that I love, and I found out a few weeks ago that a 4 serving pint will become a ONE serving pint for me. So I'm not going to buy it anymore. Can't trust myself!
Did you check out your Prevention workout DVD? If so, what did you think of it?

CATHY; I am laughing about the "Mayonnaise Team Management"! Hmmm, since the other co-workers also thought she said mayonnaise...maybe she really did have a slip of the tongue! She might have had sandwiches on her mind, lol.

KATHRYN: Wow, that heat wave sounds awful. I don't think I've ever been in 105 degree weather. I think our highest temp here has been 102 but that was a long time ago. I'm glad you're expecting cooler weather now!
Good luck on your plan to start eating breakfast. I've heard it said that we should eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Queen, and dinner like a Pauper. Well, I never eat like a Pauper, lol. I do have breakfast like a King, tho. Lunch and Dinner are more like a Queen. (And I snack like a Princess!)

I have not been on Spark for a few days do to the heat wave. We have had more than 5 days of weather over 105. Today will be cooler and I should be okay.
I have been reading a good self help book about over eating and it has a program that I am using. Step one is to keep a food diary and write down not just the food but why you ate it. I will also be talking to my therapist about why I over eat.
I also have been not eating breakfast or eating very little for months. Starting today i am eating bigger breakfasts and smaller dinners.

I AM A FIGHTER, A WARRIOR I AM DETERMINED TO NOT BE OVER WEIGHT !!!!! I WILL NOT GIVE UP OR GIVE IN!!!!!
I WILL CONQUER!!!!

Who I am really keeps surprising me.

emoticon Tig. I sooooooo understand your dilemma! I've done it myself. I don't usually keep frozen treats like that because I don't manage them well. Now, Greek yogurt, I like it a lot, but I can eat my portion and be done. What does trigger the brain that the frozen version is a confection and the non-frozen version is sustenance? Is it the sugar content? I've started looking at the sugar and salt content of my foods. If I'm craving them, typical I find that they have a higher content of one or the other. If I remove them from my food plan for a while, the craving disappears. If I re-introduce the food, the craving returns. My body simply wants more and more of that little substance. There is some research that supports what I'm finding, so I know I'm not totally loony though I have some sisters who would argue the point. LOL!!!

I love to laugh! Yesterday, in the office, my entire team got in a laughing fit. A woman asked me a question about a task "Manage Team Schedule". I soooooo heard the word "Mayonnaise" instead of "Manage". I couldn't hear the rest of her question because I was focused on "Mayonnaise". I had to stop her and ask her to repeat. Everyone could hear us and they all chimmed in and said they heard "Mayonnaise" too. What a great laugh we had!! Everyone was listening to see what her question was going to be that concerned "Mayonnaise". It's sooooo good to find things to enjoy wherever we can!

Have a great day, fellow Progressers!!! We can soooooo do this! It's a new day! Time to start again and make the new day successful!

Good evening everyone!

I wish I could report I had a healthy day....well partially anyways. This morning I was raring to go after oversleeping and did 90 min of cardio followed by about 30 minutes of "strength" (crunches, bridges, etc.). Did great with my food until this evening. I have discovered yet another food I cannot allow in the house.....Frozen Greek Yogurt. I started off fine - measured out my 1/2 cup serving but was not able to stop myself from returning for more & before I knew it I had eaten it all! Thankfully it was a pint not a half gallon!! It only put me over in calories (no other categories) but still to be over close to 200 calories when I've been trying to stay in the mid range is not good! I am trying to accept it & move on but get so frustrated with myself that whenever I am doing good (lost 4 pounds this month), I reward myself with food! How dumb is that?!? Why do I undermine myself???

It looks like everyone is doing well sticking to your plans! Congrats to you all!

Cathy - isn't it the best when you have a great time laughing?! I love it when I get into a giggle fit & just can't stop! They don't happen enough! Definitely well worth staying up a little late!

Pixie - Way to go!!!! I wish I had that strength to walk away from the fridge today! I am going to reattempt Shred tomorrow! I already dug out much lighter weights (no more injuries!) and have the mat in middle of my living room floor. I'll keep you posted! I also went through all my DVD's today & found one from Prevention that follows the same 3-2-1 approach. I'm going to have pop it in & review it - I don't remember ever using it. I'll let you all know if its any good. Thank you for sharing the PB in the microwave idea - I've never tried that.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! Stay healthy!

Good morning, fellow healthy Progressers!! emoticon

Deb, I agree. Part of the battle is determining that we're going to have a good day. Getting in the right place mentally and working it from there. I spent a little time in OA and moved to another similar program, Celebrate Recovery. Both working with folks who have food addictions. I go back to my materials often, pulling out truths that help me make it safely through the day.

Last night, I stayed up way to late! My parents live 8 hours away and had been out of town for several days. My Mom called. We laughed and talked and laughed some more. We simply couldn't hang up the phone. It was sooooooo good to laugh that hard. Laughter really is good for the soul! I think I may be going to bed early tonight, but the memories of last evening are awesome!!

Have a great day today, friends!

Great job Pixie!! emoticon

Well, I bought a couple of OA books for my Kindle today. I think I have finally reached the point where I am sick and tired of being sick and tired which I guess is where you need to be to change. Lose weight, gain it back. Lose it, gain it back. I'm done. I ate well today and worked out first thing in the morning. Tomorrow I will focus on that day and do it again. There is hope! We can do this! And, if you've already done it you can stay done!

Have a great evening and a healthy day tomorrow. I appreciate you guys!

Happy Monday, Progressors! Let's keep pushing to make this our healthiest month so far. Just take it one day at a time and make it as awesome as you can! Remember...progress, not perfection!

Boy, the kitchen was calling my name last night! I couldn't sleep, and that is when I'm weakest when it comes to eating. I did actually get out of bed and head to the kitchen. As I was standing there in front of the open refrigerator, I thought of you guys and this challenge. So I got back in bed and read for a while, and eventually fell asleep. So glad I did not give in to food!

Today is day 8 of the 30 Day Shred. Its a hard workout and I love it!

emoticon Hi everyone!

Pixie, that is a great idea to heat the PB in the microwave! I have PB2 as well and rarely eat it. It's o.k.

Congrats Pixie on Shredding it! Cathy, all your freggies sound good!

I did well yesterday and walked on my treadmill in the evening so as to avoid eating. I have realized that I have a window of time from 5:30-6:00 until about 9:00-9:30 where I just want to eat. So if I look at it as only a window of time I need to get through maybe that will work.

Hope you all are having a nice weekend!

Katrina, in my book, you are very blessed! I love peanut butter! Any nut butter really. But, I've been reading about cravings. The things we crave are the things that give us trouble. As I've thought about that, it is sooooo true for me. I need to let that be a big sign for me.

If I crave it emoticon it's likely a troublesome food for me!

I've never really liked peanut butter myself, but the PB2 I've found okay. It''s not one of my favorite go to items, but I do add it to my smoothies.

Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a fun and healthy weekend! I am doing well and staying on track. I had a non=scale victory yesterday and was so thrilled. I think I am finally through the killer plateau! I'm doing the 30 Day Shred this month and working hard!

Cathy I would have loved to have gone to the farmers market with you. Its more fun to go with someone. Thats cool that they had homemade dog biscuits!
By the way, I have two jars of PB2 in my cabinet. They have been there so long, they are probably expired, lol. I opened one jar when I first got them and I tried to like it but I just couldn't. I hated it. So those two jars have just sat there and sat there. I tried Better N Peanut Butter for a while, and I liked it. It didn't taste like peanut butter, really, but it was good enough to satisfy a peanut butter craving. But then I realized that it was just processed food with a lot of sugars, so I don't eat it anymore. I do keep real peanut butter in the house for my son, and I have it sometimes. I allow myself to have a tbsp of it sometimes, with apple slices. I've found that if I microwave the tbsp of peanut butter for a few seconds, I can drizzle it over the apple slices, and it goes a long way. Makes me feel like I'm having more of it than I really am!

Good morning all! It's another new day to take good care of ourselves!!

I've figured something out. The PB2 that I've been enjoying for the past 5 days is not something that my body is liking. emoticon I really like peanut butter but have never been able to manage the real thing. I can have PB2 and deal with it. But, my muscles are sooooo sluggish, so tight. This morning when I stopped to question what was wrong, I realized PB2 was the addition to my diet. The only new thing I added 5 days ago. I'll be stopping it and verifying that it is the culprit. It seems that peanut butter and me are just not to have a relationship. I think I need to settle on that little fact and move on.

Hope everyone has an emoticon day!

Pixie, you should have been with me! I went to the local farmers market. Usually, I forget. LOL! It was wonderful! It was threatening rain and I had to admire those sweet souls for being there. I got such a variety of freggies!! And, it was easier for me not to get too much of any one thing! I think I'll go back again next Saturday! Plus, there was a woman there selling homemade dog biscuits. Asher was sooooo glad to see me when I got home! LOL! I did still have to run by the grocery store, but thankfully it wasn't crowded yet. I don't usually go on Saturday either.

I save some calories for the evening and try to spend them on a higher protein snack. It usually has something to do with Greek Yogurt. I'll mix fruit in it or peanut butter. A little goes a long way and then I'm done. It's like I have to have something. I've tried to figure out what that's about emotionally, but I don't have a clue!

Good for you, Pixie! It's those little changes that we make that end the plateaus we find ourselves on. No more bites, licks, or tastes without counting them! And what a great plan to bring your "Personal Coach" in to spur you on this morning!!! emoticon YOU did it!!! I'm sooooo happy for you!!! Your 30 day shred is going to be an accomplishment met for you!!

Talk to you gals later!!

Good morning, team! I am so psyched! I got up this morning and did NOT feel like doing my workout, the 30 Day Shred. But I knew I was going to have to do it anyway, whether I wanted to or not, lol. So I asked hubby to be my support coach. He's really good at that, he just sits and watches me workout and says things like "Good form" or "Hey, you're not working hard enough" and "You're rocking it" as needed. So he was doing his support coach job, and after about 10 minutes I told him "Okay, I got it now" and I was able to finish the workout on my own! That workout really kicks my butt. I sweat so hard that I have to keep a towel nearby to wipe the sweat out of my eyes! I'm still on level one but I think that after 10 days I will try to move up to level two. Wish me luck!

LAINIE: That is great that your son is eating healthy, it does make it easier when you're not the only one. My hubby eats anything and everything, and he's always offering me a taste here and there. For the past few months, I would give in and have a taste or two. Now I realize thats one of the reasons I've been at a plateau for so long. Well, so far this month, I have said NO to the tastes, and I'm determined to keep saying no all month long. I'm glad you're in it to make July the healthiest month so far.

DEBBIE: I'm glad to see you here on the challenge with us. Night time eating is what I struggle with the most so I know how you feel. I think its a great idea to go for a family walk. I do save some calories for the end of the day, to have a little treat; usually some Greek yogurt or peanut butter and apple slices. I find I do really well if I have the apple slices and a tbsp of natural peanut butter, because thats a lot of chewing, lol. For some reason, that makes me more satisfied than if I have something thats fast to eat.

CATHY: Today is grocery day for me too, but only because I forgot quite a few things when I went grocery shopping earlier this week. Anyway, hope you find some nice freggies!

Have a healthy day, everyone!

emoticon Deb. I sooooo understand where you are ... I've been there far too many times myself and it's a tough place to find the answer for. I have faith in you that you will do it though!!! YOU are strong! YOU will find your way out of this!

Today is grocery day for me. I've had to eat my way through all the fruits and veggies I'd already brought home before I'd let myself go back to the store. LOL!! Everything has looked so good that there was far more bounty in the kitchen than I needed. But today, I think I can go and not risk anything going bad. LOL! Now, that's a new "worry" to have. Food going bad in MY house! LOL!!!

Enjoy your Saturday. Take good care of YOU! You're sooooo worth the effort!!

emoticon Hi everyone!

Fran, I love that checklist!

I am on one day at a time mode as I am struggling desperately to get back on track. I exercise every day but am now struggling with eating too much at night. I'm focusing on eating more during the day so I do not come home starving and changing up the routine when I get home by going for a family walk.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Hello everyone!

I went shopping yesterday and we bought a lot of fruits and veggies. I'm prepared to have July the healthiest month yet. It's easier for me when my son is on board. He's doing great with his healthy eating too. There are some days he does better than me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Take care and make it a healthy day!!

Hugs,

Lainie

Hello team! So far July really is turning out to be the healthiest month of the year so far. I keep this challenge in mind all the time. Whenever I eat, I ask myself "Is this the healthiest thing I can eat right now?" and usually that helps me to make the best choice. I did have a treat yesterday, just one cookie, and I was satisfied with that. If I know I can have a cookie once in a while, it makes them less attractive to me than if I banned them completely, lol. Today is day 5 of the 30 Day Shred and I feel like my endurance has increased, even though its still a tough workout!

FRAN: I love the checklist!

LAINIE: I'm glad you're ready for a great month, I'm rooting for you!

POINDEXTRA: Way to go on your 10k streak, keep up the good work!

JANE: I'm like you, I struggle with the eating part, although I love exercise. But for some reason this month (so far) I seem to be doing much better with the eating, so I hope you are too. I think its a great idea to log your food in the morning. I do that, too.

KIM; Wow, a hot air balloon trip sounds like so much fun! I know you'll have a great time. Good luck on your goal to lose 20 lbs. Nothing wrong with aiming high...its always good to have a goal to work for.

CATHY: Love it that you say "I am ready to take good care of me." So positive, thats the way we should all look at it, as taking care of ourselves! We really are worth it!

I am focusing on a two month healthy goal right now....70 days to be exact and I started on June 29th. I have a trip to Utah planned with a couple of girlfriends in Sept and we are doing a hot air balloon ride (one of many things on the itinerary). I am using this as my goal/reward.

I want to lose 20 pounds (a stretch but any loss will be a good thing) by 9/7. I have pictures of the hot air balloon ride posted one my fridge as a reminder each time I go roaming for a mindless snack. So far I'm off to a good start....I don't use the scale often but knew I needed a starting figure and I had to weigh in today for our 4x4th challenge...in 5 days I'm down 2 pounds! I know to take that with a grain of salt - with this heat its probably not 100% accurate but for now its motivating me to work through the heat (though I try to get my workouts in early AM). Within this goal I have another goal - to make strength training a regular part of my routine. I only do it sporadically & I really need to buckle down on this - especially upper body. I've spent my whole live focusing on my legs & core and have neglected my upper body.

Here's to a happy & healthy July for all of us! Happy 4th! emoticon

Like Pixie I'm going to make July my healthiest month this year. I've been struggling with the food part ( I rock at the exercise), and starting today I will eat within calorie range. Planning for healthy snacks and meals. I plan to start logging my food in the AM for the entire day so as to stick to my plan better. I will leave room for healthy snacks. I also plan on more water.

Hugs to all and a Happy, Healthy, Safe Fourth of July!!

working on healthier too, making sure that the bulk of meals are veggie/fruit based. No white flour or sugar. I just feel better when I do this.

emoticon I am sooooo with you!! I've worked very hard to determine what it is that works for me and, as importantly, what does not work for me. Because, there were some things I was doing that were not working for me. I was challenged to determine a method of eating and to eat that way for 4 weeks and not to give up on it until the 4 weeks were up. In doing this, I'm to track faithfully so that I know for certain if this is working for me. What an eye-opener! I'm learning so much! I'm so grateful!

I am very ready to make July my healthiest month of the year!! I'm ready to see wonderful progress for me. It's my time! I'm ready to do this!!

I'd love to do this with my friends here! What a great group of people working together!

My personal goal for the month of July is to make it the healthiest month of the year so far. I don't expect to be perfect, but I am going to do my best to make progress! I'd love it if you'd join me in this goal, or with a goal of your own. Lets chat here and give each other support all month long!
