I was going to weigh in today, but I totally forgot about it. I like to weigh first thing in the morning. I will definitely get my last weigh in tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Just a quick hello! I'm having internet issues. I have about a minute before it goes out again. I did get in my WATP workout and strength exercises today. I weighed today and I'm still the same.

Kathryn, don't beat yourself up. Hope you're having a better day today. You can do it!

Pixie, it's great to see you. Hope you have a wonderful July too!!

I went to the store today and they had nectarines 5 for a dollar. The last ones I got at the farmer's market were so good. The farmer who grew them said the ones with spots on them are sweeter. They call the spots sugar spots. If you read my blog you would know what a nut I am about fruit. emoticon

Hello Ladies!

I'm exhausted. I've been busy all day. I'm still at my niece's house helping my sister babysit her grandsons. My son is 22. I forgot how exhausting little ones can be. They are 3 and 1. The 1 year old really misses his mom and dad and keeps calling them. They won't be back from their cruise until Monday. Their other grandparents will be here tomorrow afternoon and me and my sister will be going home.

I won't be able to weigh again until Monday morning. Hopefully, I will have a loss.

Kathryn, I hope your back feels better soon.

Pixie, I love nectarines, but I didn't get any this weekend. I bought raspberries and blueberries today. I want to get some nectarines too the next time I go to the store.

Have a great evening!

Hugs,

Lainie

Kathryn, I'm sorry your back is hurting...maybe you are overdoing it with the pushups? Hopefully your back pain won't last long. My back pain comes and goes, and its my lower back on the right side usually. Some days its just a minor annoyance, but other days its really bad and I can't exercise on those days, other than doing some stretches for it.

White peaches are YUMMY! I will have to look for them! Right now I have nectarines, Ranier cherries, white grapes, clementines and bananas in the house.

I woke up with my back hurting in the shoulder blade area. I don't have back problems so I don't know what is up. Pixie I hope our backs stop hurting and we can do our exercise. I did do 32 push ups (I have been doing 50 every day) and I took a 30 minute walk. Went to the Farmer's market and got some white peaches. I have been eating them this month and like them better than candy.

Only a few more days until the 4th of July! Don't forget to update your post on the challenge thread. Although the challenge was to lose 4 lbs by the 4th, I don't weigh myself so I chose a different goal for myself....to workout everyday. I've done pretty good! I did miss some workouts earlier this month due to back pain, but other than that I've been on track.

Looking forward to a healthy July!

That's awesome, Kathryn! I gave all my oversized clothes to Good Will when I moved. Now the only clothes in my closet are the ones that fit me. I'm hoping to be down a couple of sizes by the time winter arrives.

Today's going to be busy for me. I'm have a training class at noon and another one tomorrow at noon. I'm suppose to be off tomorrow, but I'll have to dial in to the class. I work from home so it's all virtual. I will be going to my niece's house around 7 p.m. tonight and will be spending the night. I'm helping my sister watch her grandsons. Not sure when I will get a chance to get on line this weekend while I'm there, but I will try.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hugs,

Lainie

I think I will go through my winter clothes and give them to the Goodwill tomorrow. They are all size extra large and large. I were a size medium and today was giving a size small. It fit but I could not button it up so I will wear it as a over shirt over my white tank top.

Just a quick stop in to say hi! I'm busy with work; trying to pack in 5 days of work in 4 days. I'll be helping my sister watch her little grandsons this weekend while their parents are on a cruise.

Kathryn, do you have a hobby that you can do to keep your hands occupied so you don't nibble too much? I try to keep my hands busy doing something. I love to crochet, although I haven't had much time to do that lately.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hugs,

I would like to lose 4 pounds too but would be okay with just 2 more, that would take me down in the 160s that is my next small goal. Small goal heck that is a big goal for me I have been in the 170 for way to long. I keep gaining 3 and than losing them. I will get a hold of this over eating and lose that 2 pounds.

Just a quick stop in to say hello!! My internet is driving me crazy today. It keeps going in and out. Not a great work day so far. I plan on getting in my WATP workouts this week and eating healthy. The month is almost over and I am hoping to lose more than the 4 lbs for this challenge. I'm at 4.1 lbs gone so far.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! Make it a healthy and active day!

Cherries seem to be a bit expensive here so we stocked up on cantaloupe and strawberries. I bought a few cherries the week before last. The seemed to last longer than the strawberries are.

That said, blueberries are by far my favorite fruit. I can't wait for the season to be here.

Hello Everyone!

I worked 5 hours today. Then we went shopping again. Just got home and we getting ready to play Dominoes. We haven't done that in a long time.

I only lost .1 this week, but I'm okay with that. As long as I stay the same or have a loss, I'm happy.

Kathryn, I noticed the price of cherries are going down in our area. It's a healthy snack. I've been snacking on raspberries and nectarines this week.

Hope everyone is having a great evening! Take care!

Hugs,

I have been pigging out on cherries since Tuesday I needed some thing to get in control of what I feel is getting out of hand. Planning my meals is what seems to be working for me.

I checked the teams weights on the challenge and it looks like so many are doing good. I am hopping the scale goes down for me this week. I weigh in on Wed. that is my weight watchers day and i am in the habit of doing it than.

Just stopping by for a quick hello before I head to bed. I've had a busy day with work. Then we went to Applebee's for supper and on to grocery shopping. Had to work off my Fiesta Lime Chicken. I'm so tired now. I wanted to stop by and say hi. I'll be back tomorrow.

You're very welcome, Kim!

Hauling retaining wall, removing sod, moving dirt, etc. I really drank a ton of water, am below my calories, and got in over 18,000 steps. As long as the weather holds out, there's more of the same for the rest of the weekend.

Awww, thank you, Kathryn! She takes care of her grandkids Sunday through Thursday, plus cleans and does laundry for her daughter. I try to make sure everything is clean here so she doesn't have to worry about it. Sounds like you have a great plan. I switched to whole grains back in 2006 when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. I would prefer to eat chicken every day, but I do eat red meat too. I always get the lean meats, even if it means paying a little extra. I've been snacking on raspberries all week. They were my little splurge this week. I love them. I'm all out now, but I do have blueberries and nectarines. Those are my 3 favorite fruits.

Spartan, 35 minutes on the treadmill is great emoticon don't put yourself down. It is hard to walk on those things I know I can't do it. They had me walk on one for my stress test and I thought I was going to fly off that thing I had to tell them to shut it off I could not handle it and I don't even think I was on it for 5 minutes. Your 35 minutes is GREAT !!!!!

Laine good for you cleaning up the place so spic and span before your sister comes home, you are a good sister.

In the near past (like Yesterday) I ate like a teenager now starting today I am going to eat like an adult. I have planned out my meals for the week and I am going to stick to it. No going off eating snacks just because I saw some thing on TV or read in a book. I am eating my planned snacks and meals. I am going to eat whole grains, fruit, vegetables, low fat dairy, and lean meat. Eat more fish and no red meat. I am going to take better care of me.

I've had a busy morning today. My sister comes home for the weekend today. So I wanted to make sure the floors were swept and mopped. Got them done before I started to work. Now, I'm working and doing laundry; have a load in the dryer and another one in the washer with one more after that. I like to make sure I get my laundry done before my sister comes home. She does her laundry and my nephew's laundry on Friday. My son does his own laundry and has since he was 10 years old. I don't think my nephew knows how to turn on the washer and he's 40 years old. lol

I've been doing my WATP workouts this week. The only day I didn't so far was Tuesday. I'm usually really busy with work and conference calls on Tuesdays. I did do some strength exercises on Tuesday though. I'm eating a lot of freggies too. Hoping for another loss on Saturday.

Kathryn, you're doing great! You have a great attitude! Keep up the great work!

Spartan, good for you! Doing 35 min on the treadmill is pretty good. It may not be great in your eyes, but every little bit of movement helps.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hugs,

Lainie

Yep up a pound this week but down .2 what I had hoped to be this week in my long look at what I want to weigh each month so I am not to upset. Each week I get better at making good choices on what to eat and doing my exercises. Since I hurt my knee I have looked in to other exercises to do and have found a good band video to do that does not hurt my knee and has exercises for the whole body.

Hello Everyone!

It's definitely a quiet day in the house today. I'm keeping my two dogs in the room with me while I'm working. I'm going to be doing my WATP workout around 3 p.m. and I'll put them outside while I'm doing that. My little dog likes to get in the way when I do the workout.

Spartan, it's great that you're getting in the exercise even though you're very busy.

Vicki, glad to hear Bob slept better last night and things are getting back to normal.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Lainie

Happy to say Bob slept thru the night in bed last night. He said his shoulder didn't give him any trouble so we should be getting mostly back to normal now.

Things with me are extremely busy. I've been great with exercise and water. I need to improve the quality of my food and reduce the calories. Work to do!!

Lanie - enjoy the house to yourself. It's nice every once and a while.

Vicki - I hope the sheets helped. We had small kids that go bo bed while it is still light out. We bought liners you can attach to your curtains that will both darken and help insulate for one room. In the other we bough curtains that were supposed to do the same thing. Both work well.

Kim - I love cheesecake too and would love the recipe.

Hello Ladies!

For the first time in a while I have the house to myself, well, except for the 5 dogs. My son is off to work today starting his new job. I'm so excited for him. I can't wait to hear how it went on his first day. I'm busy with work. I work from home. I'm able to take breaks to do other things. So far today I've done a load of laundry, vacuumed, and took out the trash along with work and attending a conference call. Later today I will be doing my WATP workout, but first I have to confirm some appointments.

Vicki, I hope putting up the sheets on the window helped with the light last night and you were able to get some sleep. Take care!

Kim, that's some great info and recipes you got. I love cheesecake. I would also love the recipe when you get a chance.

Kathryn, sorry your weigh in at the dr.'s didn't go the way you were hoping. I'm sure you will get that pound back off in no time.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the day!

Hugs,

Lainie

Hi everyone!

Sounds like you all had a good weekend! Mine was okay - nothing exciting to report. Vegged for most of it & did some work on a large cross stitch project I'm tackling for a friend (a wolf - the chart is 12 pages & lots of shades of gray!). I'm sure I will be blind by the end of this! emoticon We're still waiting to hear a final diagnosis on my sister-in-law but at least she is home & seems to be doing better. It's scary that you can be THAT sick and the doctors can't figure out what it is after two weeks of tests.

I've been meaning to post the information I got at that quick & healthy summer cooking class I attended. For now I'll just post the recipe titles but if there is interest, I'll find a place to post (or email) the actual recipes. I was impressed with the class. After she assembled (not a lot of actual cooking involved in class - she prepped a few things in advance) all the recipes, we got to sample them all. She referenced a few cookbooks (one right my alley - all the recipes only have 4 ingredients!). I don't have the book info in front of me but will post them later if you'd like. Here's what we had to eat....

Balsamic Bean Salsa Salad (4 ingredients; 93 calories; 0 fat; 6 protein)
Rotini Greek Salad (mayo free pasta salad; 219 calories; 1 fat; 6 protein)
Arugula & Mushroom Salad (42 calories; 3 fat)
New York Cheesecake (94 calories; 0 fat; 10 protein)
I'm not a cheese cake fan but it was yummy!

We also received notes on: Beans & other legumes: types & cooking tips;10 fresh ways to use arugula; summer food safety tips; 10 tips & tricks for healthy summer salads (5 more recipes); healthy lunches in 5 min or less. Let me know if you are interested in any of these - several were pulled from the internet I think, so we should be able to track them down if I can't get them out to you.

It was a good way for me to be able to test a few "new to me" foods without having to purchase a dinner out or experiment at home & discover I didn't like something. I learned that black beans aren't too bad, feta cheese in small amounts is tolerable, and at least this cheesecake recipe is pretty good! I'm not a vinegar fan but what was used in these recipes was okay. I still did skip over the mushrooms! Not a big fungus fan unless its hidden in a sauce or something so I don't know I'm eating them! emoticon

I had an okay shopping experience today. I've been avoiding shopping...though I always have...I hate clothes shopping! I find it exhausting & frustrating! But my clothes are starting to get to the point of sloppy so I figured it was time to at least start poking around for some better fitting clothes. We don't have a lot of clothing stores around here - especially ones that carry larger sizes. I came home with 3 pairs of pants & a t-shirt (all on sale to boot!). Down 3 sizes from the majority of the clothes in my closet (pants anyways)! We've got a few more trips planned over the next week or so so hopefully I'll find some more deals in smaller sizes!

That's about all that's new here! I hope everyone is having a happy & healthy week!
Take care,
Kim

Still sleeping in the recliners. It's getting old fast. And our neighbor across the street has been cutting on this really bright light in her livingroom window, to show off her Virgin Mary statue, but the light shines right into our house, lighting up the whole livingroom all the way down the hall. And she leaves it on all night. So today I said enough was enough, so I took 2 dark sheets and put them across our drapes to block the light from her house. It darkens the livingroom enough we'll be able to sleep a lot better. And the first of the month I'll buy the material to make dark drapes for the livingroom. This has been going on for a LONG time and Bob gets so mad about it. She has the right to burn what lights she wants. She did keep it off for awhile because I told her we were sleeping in the livingroom, but she said I really needed to get dark drapes ( so that told me right there she'd be going back to turning on that light). I can't do anything til the first so the sheets have to do. It looks ugly from the inside but you can't really tell it from the outside. And we'll sleep better. I don't think Bob will be sleeping in the bed all night anytime soon. He only managed 1 hour last night.
Anyway, hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday.

Hello Everyone!

I had a great weekend too. It was so busy and it flew by. It was hard to get started today. I've already done my strength exercises today on a break from work a little while ago. After confirming appointments for our 3 p.m. webinar, I plan on doing my WATP workout. I need to be more consistent with doing my WATP workouts. I am shooting for at least 3 a week, but l only did 1 last week.

I hope everyone has a great week. Make it a healthy and active week!!!

Hugs,

Lainie

Have a great day, everyone! Sixteen days until the 4th of July!

I am doing well on my challenge goal. Since I don't weigh myself, my goal for the challenge is to workout every day. I've missed a few days due to back pain, but other than that I've been on track. Starting a new Cardio Sculpt workout today and it looks tough. Can't wait!

Hello Everyone!

I had such a busy day yesterday. My son, who just graduated from college, got a job in Savannah. It's part time for now, but hoping it goes full time soon. He's a graphic designer/illustrator. Anyway he showed us where he's going to be working starting on Tuesday. It's at Ellis Square in Savannah, GA; right next to City Market. So we walked around the Square and City Market. We had lunch at Five Guys. They have the best hamburgers. Then we went to the mall so he could get some new clothes. I find a pair of navy blue slide on sandals. I wear a lot of navy blue and it's so hard for me to find navy blue shoes. I had to grab them up and they were on sale. Afterwards, we left Savannah and went to the Commmissary at Fort Stewart to get our groceries. Then back home, which is about 20 miles from Fort Stewart. I sure did get in a lot of steps.

Today I am having a fairly relaxing day. I have to pre-confirm 7 appointment for tomorrow. I'm also washing my sheets. The rest of the day will be a relaxation day for me. My sister is grilling for us.

Kathryn, you're welcome. Let me know what you think of the WATP workout you have once you get the opportunity to try it out. I rely on my emails to keep up with the chats. I guess everyone was busy on Friday.

Charlene, I'm sorry you had a gain due to water retention. I have to take a diuretic and potassium every day for fluid retention. I definitely understand how you're feeling. I pray that you get better soon. Take care!

Mickey, sorry you had a lot of stress in your life this week. If I'm really stress, I have a tendency to reach for those fatty foods too. Hope you have a less stressful week! Enjoy the fruits and veggies!!

Fran, welcome to the challenge. You sure have a great incentive to get down a size. You can do it!!!

Luann, sorry you had a gain. Just put it behind you and start fresh. You can do it!!!

Hope everyone is having a great Father's Day!! My dad has been gone since 1982, but I've been thinking of him a lot this weekend and keeping all my wonderful memories close to my heart. Have a great day!!!

Hugs,

Lainie

I lost almost a lb from last week but I still have 4.2 lbs to lose before the fourth. Oh how I am praying the good Lord gives me the strength to resist temptation to eat sweets. I had a couple of bad eating days and it made me so sick I resolved once again to not do that any more. Being sick already for two weeks, weakened my previous resolve. I turned to sugar for strength instead of God. He is my everything not sugar and I have to remember that. .

Charlene, sorry to hear your weight gain by water retention. Me too gained 2 pounds this week. It is so discouraging to know when you gained weight. But for my gain was expected one. Mine was not water. It is fat retention as I over eat fatty foods. I let my stress reached over those foods I knew better to stay away. But tomorrow is a new day, so from Monday, I am plan on my veggies and fruits challenge and work harder on my strengths training. WTPA sounds good.

*** Have a wonderful and productive week everyone !! emoticon

The best laid plans of mice and men. I gained again instead of lost. UGH! Being ill for two weeks and having to take medicine that makes me retain fluid has not helped. Please pray for me to get better and lose the water retention.

Thanks for telling me what WATP is. I have one of Leslie's videos but have not used it yet, I use the ones here in the fitness section. I started back on my weight training again by doing a video three times today.

Hello Everyone!

It's been a busy morning with work and will probably continue this afternoon and evening. I have two different jobs with our company. One of them is to confirm webinar appointments. I was the only one confirming up until about a month ago. Now I have a couple of people who help out. So, I usually give up my 9:30 p.m. webinars and my Friday evening and once in awhile I give up my Saturday webinars. The week I am only work Monday-Friday. It will be great to have Saturday off. It's been a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to that. Plus, my sister will be home tomorrow. We will be getting in a lot walking this weekend with going to the track and shopping. I can't wait.

Kim, thank you for the congrats. I hope you don't get sick. I will look forward to hearing about your cooking class. I'm always looking for tips and good recipes.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Hugs,

Lainie

Good morning!

Lainie - Congratulations on your son's graduation & new job!!! You both must be thrilled!!!

Off to a slow start today - only did a 30 min WATP workout. Overslept but that for me usually means I'm fending something off. With my mom being sick, I figured it's best to just let my body do its thing. I'm going to aim for another workout later in the day. Going to use my laziness to focus on finding some easy recipes. Looking forward to the quick & healthy cooking class tomorrow afternoon. I will share any good tips/recipes!

Have a great day everyone!
Kim

Hello Everyone!

Today has been an exciting day for my son and me. My son graduation from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design on May 11th. He's done freelance work since he was in high school. He's been so worried that he wouldn't get a job right away. I told him to relax and enjoy the time he has and before he knew it, he would get a job offer. I prayed about this every day. I told him that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that he would get a job that he wants. Well, a couple of weeks ago, a guy that he had met through twitter called him to say he wanted to meet with him. He had told my son in the past that they weren't hiring. He calls my son and said that he might be able to work something out and to come and see him on the 11th of June. Rocky was so excited, but worried too. Ever since he met this guy and heard about his company, he has been wanting to work there. It's in Savannah, which is about a little over an hour's drive from here. He had the interview at 11:00 a.m. At 11:43, he calls me to tell me that he thinks he has the job. The owner had to talk to his partner first. He told Rocky that he would call him back later today with a definite answer. He called Rocky 2 hours later with the great news that they were hiring him for part time contract work, which will eventually become full time. He is on cloud nine today and so am I.

Kim, I'm so glad to hear your sister-in-law is back at home. Hopefully, she will recover soon from whatever it is. Great job on the loss!!! I would go by your scale too, since that's the one you use the most. Keep up the great work!! I get those cravings too; sometimes salt and sometimes chocolate. I usually give in to the craving, but use moderation and portion control.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Hugs,

Lainie

Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good start to their week! We got good news today, my sister-in-law is finally being discharged today after 7 days (total between both places). We still don't have an official diagnosis but believe it to be a tick borne illness (there are 3 & she doesn't have Lyme). She'll still be recovering at home but at least the worst seems to be behind her. So anyone playing outside - watch for those ticks! Scary stuff!

So far, I'm managing to stave off my mothers cold her sister shared with her. But have succumbed to PMS cravings today something awful! I never suffered from monthly cravings until the past couple of years. They are intense! I feel like a drug addict in desperate need of a chocolate fix (some months salt). I tried to reign it in and did an extra workout to try to offset it. Tried to keep my calorie count in my range...high end but not off the charts.

Was excited this morning when I stepped on the scale & saw the lowest number I've seen in a long time! But then had my physical today & of course their scale depressed me...over 10lbs higher! I'm sticking to my scale before eating/dressing/etc! Either way the doc was happy to see that I have been managing to steadily lose over the past couple years. She helped put it in perspective. She had never worried about my gaining because I gained between 7-10lbs a year but add that up over several years you know where it got me. Even though it feels painfully slow, I am losing it at a faster rate than I gained it...almost 50lbs in 2 years. I guess that's my NSV - the fact that I am realizing that I am losing it faster than I gained it & using that to keep my spirits up.

Lainie - Thank you for your support of my sis-in-law! I have several WATP's too and my favorite is the Ultimate Collection (I think that's what's it called). It has 1 - 5 miles workouts but on this one it is a complete workout verses the ones that it just patches the individual miles together & you end up with multiple warm ups & cool downs - I don't care for those. I was doing the 4 mile now I improvise & do the workout while watching a show off my DVR. I know at what time I should be breaking a sweat - if I'm not I know I need to kick it up.

Pixie - I emailed you the back PT exercises. I hope you got them but let me know if you didn't. I scanned the sheet into a PDF file so I can always print it & drop it in the mail. Weekends are tough to stay on track - the routine gets interrupted with so many other things.

Take care!

Kathryn, WATP is Walk Away the Pounds. It's a workout by Leslie Sansone. You walk in place, do side steps, knee lifts, and kicks. Some of the workouts have you using stretchy bands and hand weights. There are a bunch of different workouts that she does. The workout is like a low impact aerobic workout. I love them.

What is WATP?

Feeling lazy this morning going to have to push myself in to taking a walk today. It is cool and breezy so I have all day to walk some time. Have to walk to the drug store to pick up some fish oil pills, I use the gummy kind that don't taste like fish.

Hello Everyone!!!

The weekend just wasn't long enough for me, but it was a pretty good weekend. It was the first weekend in a long time that we didn't eat out at all. It's very helpful that my son is really watching what he eats and is eating much healthier.

I've decided that I'm going to do the WATP workouts on Monday-Wednesday. Then the rest of the week, weather permitting, we will go to the track in town and walk. I picked Thursday-Sunday for walking the track, because that is when my sister is usually home with us. Although this past weekend she stayed at my niece's house, since my niece was recovering from having a cyst removed from her ovary. I missed having her here. She's excited about walking the track with me.

Kim, I have a lot of different WATP workouts, but the one I'm using now is a favorite. It's WATP Express One Mile & Two Mile. I'm currently doing the one mile. It's been awhile since I did them. So I will be doing the one this month and moving on to the two mile next month. I hope and pray the bigger hospital will be able to help your sister-in-law.

Pixie, I'm with you on the weekends. They are usually harder for me to. I think it's because I get paid every Friday and it's grocery shopping time. We usually go out to eat on the weekends too. Glad your back is better.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!! Make it a healthy and active day!!

Hugs,

Lainie

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was great! It was a struggle to stay on track...weekends are always harder for some reason....but I managed to stay strong. Did my workouts and ate as healthy as possible. Now I'm ready for a healthy week!

KATHRYN;That is AWESOME that you are a size 10 now! Doesn't it feel great? My goal is to be a size 10, I am working hard to get to where you are!

KIM: Thanks for asking about my back, it is better but I am being so careful. I don't want to hurt it again because it sure is lousy to be in pain like that and unable to workout or even do housework! Yes, I would definitely appreciate it if you would share those physical therapy exercises with me! Thank you!

Hi everyone,
Stopping by to say hi & hoping everyone had a good & healthy weekend. Crazy weekend - my sister-in-law has been in the hospital for several days now still undiagnosed & today we transferred her to a bigger/better hospital in hopes of seeing some progress. It seems to be tick related so anyone exercising outside, please be care & check yourselves! Needless to say my eating was a bit off today - - more focused on the patient then ourselves right now.

Didn't too bad for lunch...had a caprese sandwich with chicken & split a small bag of baked chips with my mom. But we did each get a fruit strudel type pastry for dessert which ended up being dinner around 9pm when we got home. I did get in an hour workout before we hit the road and ended up getting over 14K steps throughout the day. Not a bad day overall.

Kathryn - emoticon on the Goodwill find! I'm not sure if I could try seaweed snacks - doesn't sound good but its good to try new things right!

Pixie - I hope your back is doing better. I have several physical therapy exercises if it is your lower back & I'm happy to share if you like. I have back issues all the time so I've learned at the slightest little twinge I start doing them again.

Lainie - Glad to hear you found a track to use - hopefully snake free! emoticon on the weight loss!! That is awesome! Which WATP do you use?

I hope everyone has a great week! My schedule is up in the air right now until we get the latest update on my sis-in-law. Every time she's doing good at night by morning a new symptom appears but hopefully that will change tomorrow.

Hello Everyone!

Sunday is suppose to be my one and only day of rest, but it's really hardly that. I did have a leisurely morning. Then I had to sweep and mop the floors. With 5 little dogs in this house, it is never ending. My son and I went to the small track after I got done with the floors. The gnats about drove us crazy. We just walked around once. My son heard that if you take a dryer sheet and rub it on your face and arms, it's suppose to keep away the gnats. We're going to try it the next time we go. That probably won't be until Thursday. I'll be doing my WATP workouts until then.

Arlene, that's great that you maintained. I know you'd much rather has a loss, but it's so much better than a gain. You can do it.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!! Take care! Have a great week!!

Hugs,

Lainie

Hello, all you lovely ladies. Sorry I don't get around here too often. Weekends are especially busy for me as my one great grand daughter comes every Saturday so she can go to church with me on Sunday so that keeps me busy. And today I finally got her sent off for a week in the mountains at church camp. That has kept me busy also since she doesn't live with me it was harder to get her all packed up.
And now this afternoon I have a meeting at church. But at least it keeps me away from food. LOL I maintained this week. Hoping that when I get on the scales tomorrow for another spark challenge that I will have lost one pound at least.

Hello Everyone!

I've had a busy day today. I worked from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Then we went to Walmart, which is 17 miles from here. I used to go to this Walmart all the time and then I moved away for 3 years. Now, this Walmart is the closest and I like the other one better. Everything is set up different. We did a lot of walking. After we got home, put away the groceries, and played with the 5 dogs, we went in search of a track to walk on. We found the nice little 1/4 track in the park downtown, but my son didn't want to stop at that one. There's another one at the Recreation Center Park. This one is about 6 or 7 miles on the other side of town. That is a mile track that goes around a pond. There was no way I was going to walk around that track. I'm sure there are snakes and who knows what else in that pound. I'm terrified of snakes. I will settle for the track in town. My son said that he's going to head out to the pound track and walk during the week.

I weighed in this morning and lost 3 lbs this week. I'm happy with that. It's a first step to get the weight I gained in the past couple of months. Doing the WATP workouts has really helped me.

Emily, sorry you had a slight gain. I'm sure you will do better next week. You have a great attitude.

Pixie, I still have to enter my info for this week. I'll do that as soon as I'm done here. My internet worked fine today. Of course, we didn't have any rain and I still have my home phone unplugged.

Kathryn, I've heard that sea weed snacks are good, but I've never had them before. I don't think I've ever seen them in any stores I've been too. Good for you for finding healthier foods. Keep up the great work.

Hope everyone is having a great evening!

Hugs,

Lainie

When I walked in the 93 degree weather I stopped at Starbucks and got a frozen coffee, that helped with the heat. Today it was 70 early in the morning when I went for my walk and I bought a bottle of water.
I went to McDonald yesterday and just got a Big Mac because that is what they have that I like the best. I did not get french fries because I eat the frozen ones at home all the time. French fries are no longer a trigger food for me. I try not to make any thing "bad food" but do make changes in what I eat. Crackers are some thing I tend to over eat. I eat them for the salt. I tried sea weed snack last month and like it a lot better for the salt. Today I found it real cheap at the bargain store and bought two cases.

Good morning! I made this week unnecessarily tough on myself, so I'm up instead of down :( but, only by a .6 pound. So, hopefully I can keep my eating consistently good this week, and see a drop over the next!
Hope everyone had a great week!

Every day is a new beginning, a fresh chance to make great progress! Leave yesterday behind, and focus on what is in front of you now.

Hello Everyone!

I'm so glad that it's Friday even though I have to work tomorrow for 5 hours. I'm going to have next Saturday off. It makes it easier for tomorrow. I'm so glad I work from home. Unfortunately, today it's been a little rough since my internet keeps going out. Ever since we had all the rain yesterday, it's been going off and on. I did notice also that every time the home phone rings it goes out. I really don't need the phone, but we have to have it for the internet. So, I unplugged the phone from the jack. That seems to be working. Knock on wood!

Kim, that's great information from the nutritionist. I like how she thinks. It's been just me and my son for the past 22 years. He is such a picky eater. Luckily, I was able to find some healthy meals that he liked. He just graduated from college, but is still living with me until he gets a job. We just moved into my sister's home. She's only here part of the week. So, I'm still cooking just for me and my son and sometimes my nephew. I still cook full meals and whatever is leftover, I have for lunch the next day or two.

Pixie, I'm sorry your back is still bothering you. Praying that it gets better soon. I've been having some issues with my back too lately from the move. I find that stretches have been helping me too.

Hope everyone has a great evening!

Hugs,

Lainie
