I have two boxers that keep me pretty busy, and they treat me with more love than I could ever imagine receiving from an animal. :) It's too hot to take them for long walks right now but we've been playing tag and running through the sprinkler in the back yard. (yes, I said we....they insist that I join them)
Hubby plays about every instrument known to man and has started to teach me some basics on the drums so that he'll have somebody to play with. I'm terrible at it, but it's so much fun!! I have been dragging my butt out of bed at the crack of dawn to ride my bike before the heat of the day. This cycling thing really is turning into more of a hobby than exercise! I'm officially addicted. :)
Jewelry-making is great fun. I really like my fancy plier, though I haven't used them a lot in recent years. I got into dancing, genealogy, and learning to play piano, Can't fit it all in, too many hobbies.
I do love it when my beading magazines roll in, "BeadStyle, Bead & Button, and Beadwork".
Kooper, my parrot, treats me pretty well. He loves me, and wants all of my attention. When I don't accommodate his needs he lets me know. I try to keep him happy while getting all my things done. He is my best anti-boredom tool. Kooper is out much of my weekend days especially, when DH is at work, and he is great entertainment. I have to run after him and make sure he doesn't hurt himself, or anything else, as he flies all around
Boredom is also waylaid in my world by my tv shows in the evenings that DH is at work, Flylady, and planning and performing exercise. I don't have to be training for a special event to motivate me to exercise. I love exercise, and the thought of it's affect of my body, to exercise almost daily.
My birthday, now a few days behind me, my new upcoming event to aim for is July 4th challenge. That motivates me to meet my calorie deficit goals.
Even if our efforts of attention seem for years to be producing no results, one day a light in the exact proportion to them will flood the soul. ~Simone Weal
How great that the DD and grandkids are visiting for the big celebrations, ELECTRALYTE. Your beach town sounds delightful.
It's also wonderful that you got to your SP goal and are maintaining, within your goal range, with Lenny's help. I'm doing more walking now, since my daughter drops off her dog Winston (cocker) here several days a week. It's difficult to walk my cat Bugsy. I would have to drag her. I've thought about getting one of those pet strollers so she could ride. Spoiled cat.
I am not a talented musician, but I always wanted to take piano lessons. So, I started 2.5 yrs ago. It's something I like, just for me. I practice a little almost every day. I am also into genealogy. Right now I'm one of the volunteers helping familysearch index the 1940 census, so that it can be free and searchable online for those looking for their families. Like sudoku and reading, too. Lots of sitting.
My dancing was helping with the weight and I'm getting ready for a move and have left the dance team. I have to replace that exercise with something. Until I get moved, walking may have to suffice.
I'm looking forward to the 4th of July! It's a really huge deal in this small little beach town I moved to, and I'm anxious to check it out. Haven't seen DD or grandkids since last Thanksgiving and they will all be here for a week. I want to look and feel fantastic that week for sure. Lenny is great, thanks! Keeps me walking and exploring! I wish I could play an instrument but no talent there. I kill boredom and time by playing online games like Sims and Guild Wars.
