I am still doing good. I have been staying within my planned calorie range, getting my protein and fiber, and am always satisfied. Sometimes I think I am hungry but I do something else and later find that I am no longer hungry.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Even if we lose the race, we are still a winner (just a slow winner).

As long as you keep moving, you are still lapping those on the couch.

Do not take things personally as it is never about us.

Hey Slim Chick - I just thought of something -

Right now it's just you and me doing this. What if we opened it up to the whole group, starting after Labor Day? We can still continue until then, like a "practice run." If you like the idea, I'll start a new thread and it can be our "September Intuitive Eating Challenge" or something like that. Let me know if that sounds like a good idea!

I hear you about the ice cream. It's definitely a weakness of mine. Although since I've started working on intuitive eating, now I only eat ice cream I truly LOVE. My parents are visiting and they bought some ice cream that is probably OK but it isn't anything I LOVE. Michelle May suggests telling yourself, "That's not my food." That seems to help me as well.

So far so good for me - even though my parents are visiting we are eating home more often, exercising every day, and I'm keeping up with the fruits and veggies and water. When my body is well nourished and well rested and active, it's so much easier to avoid overeating!

Today is the day! I know food is not my problem. I think it is a combination of emotional eating and mindless eating (because it is there).
Three weeks is a good start but I know it has to be a change of lifestye.
Lets report how we did.
I am at my son's home today and I know he keeps his frig stocked with ice cream.
I opened the freezer and saw the ice cream but I told myself don't even think about it.
Funny, that was enough. I need to stay focused until I create healthier habits.

I am not aware of the Cedric Center but I do know I need structure to make changes.
How are you doing on your "rebooting"?
How about starting a three week program with me.

Hi everyone,

Have any of you heard of the Cedric Center in Vancouver, BC? I came across Michelle Morand's writing when I first started learning about intuitive eating. I have her book "Food is not the Problem - Deal with what Is!" I haven't read it all yet; it's next on my list. I signed up for her free email newsletter and this came yesterday. The article basically lays out a three-week "reboot" time where one commits to stopping the madness of dieting and instead focuses on physical hunger. I've been doing something similar by myself and wanted to share this with you all. It might make an interesting team activity at some point. Or, at least it is an EXCELLENT resource for someone new to Intuitive Eating who needs some structure to transition. Read and let me know what you think!
