What is bad and what is good? The schools are cutting portions and protein. My grandkids are effected by this and they are not big eaters.
I absolutely agree with Scrappin'Polly!

I think taxing the junk food is only going to open up a huge can of worms. Because who is going to define what junk food is? Vegetarians would argue that meat is junk food, while I would argue that it's a necessity. I also don't want to see the politicians defining what junk food is because the term junk food is subjective to who is defining it.

That's part of the problem it is so easly to blame others than our selves. They don't teach it in schools like they should and lots of kids don't get it from their parents or other family members.
Why pay more taxes and give more control to the government? We need to take responsibility for ourselves and grow up.
...and put more food police on the payroll?
I think we need education and responsibility ...

Personal goal is to weigh in 149 by the end of March 2013. I did not make my previous goal so must do better...I ACHIEVED THIS GOAL IN MAY 2013. A LOSS OF 37 POUNDS.
I HAVE ADDED A NEW GOAL OF LOSING ANOTHER 4 POUNDS TO ACHIEVE BY JUNE 30, 2013. 145 BY JUNE 30, 2013 - I'M ON MY WAY...
All depends on WHO would determine what was "good or bad"??
I've already noticed some things are taxed....things that I only buy 'once in a blue moon'.....

YES, TAX THE JUNK STUFF. THEY'VE PROVED IT ISN'T GOOD FOR US. BUT I DON'T BELEIVE THAT WE NEED SO MANY SUBSIDIZED THINGS. INSTEAD OF DOING THAT WHY DON'T WE PAY OFF OUR DEPT?
I read this blog "Food for thought: Should we tax junk food & subsidize the good stuff?" What do you all think about ths idea?
