Didn't mean to make the AFB HM sound fun. It is flat as a pancake and kinda dull since you just run around a military base with mostly nondescript buildings. I suppose one highlight is the AFB museum at the end (free for participants) and running under jet fighter plans at the finish. But it is inexpensive!
Why are you telling us about this? Have you done it or have a vested interest in it?
At $70 for early registration, it's expensive for a non-profit HM. It's priced more like a for-profit HM. And there are plenty of excellent of HMs in Delaware that are less expensive. For example, Rehoboth Beach HM is $65 and has a phenomenal after-party. And if price is an issue, the Dover AFB HM is a bargain at $30 and it tops out at $35 for race-day registration!
