Thank you for the information TIMOTHYNOHE! I will definately make time to checkout Tulsa and the other activities that are happening on race weekend. The more I hear about this race, the more excited I get to be participating!
Hebrews 12:1b...Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us
You have a choice. You can throw in the towel, or you can use it to wipe the sweat off of your face. --Gatorade
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.

The net downhill is only a factor for actual records.. At 2:30, I think the record is safe.
She still can get her PR.
I really enjoyed the race last year. Try to get to the 5k on Saturday, even if you don't run it. The Kids' 1 mile is fun to watch. And the mascot dash is a blast.
They still call it "gun time" even though most races start with a horn. Not so in Tulsa. The Sheriff comes out with a shot gun to start each corral. The shells are loaded with confetti. But still ... they start the race with a shot gun.
And while you are in Tulsa, visit the Center of the Universe. It's behind the Williams Building (the one that looks like a mini version of the World Trade Center ... because it is). It is very interesting. Stand in it and you hear your voice echo. Someone outside, you don't hear them echo and they don't hear you. Here's a link:
I'll be there. I' doing the full. Half and full marathoners stay together until around mile 12, which is right after a long out and back. That's a good place to have it, since you can see friends doing both races. The energy for the first half is electric. This year the finish line has to Guthrie Green.

"A good day is when I get to run. A great day is when I inspire others to run!"
"I AM A RUNNER because I know that despite my best efforts, I will always want more from myself. I will always want to know my limits so that I can exceed them."
