Best wishes to all of you running the Turkey Trot.....maybe next year. I still haven't convinced my family that running a race on Thanksgiving is a good idea! LOL!!! Doing the Gobbler Hobbler this weekend (the 10th) as a birthday present to me. Family thinks I am crazy - they're right!

I ran this last year. It wasn't bad. The entire run is in the Busse Woods Forest Preserve on a paved path, with one section on a wooden foot bridge that goes over Higgins Road. Last year the temps were in the low 40's with a heavy mist for much of the race, so it wasn't all that comfortable. There were about 1500 runners last year. I don't remember it feeling crowded at any point in the race except at the start. But it is a HM, so starting slow isn't a bad thing anyway.
There seemed to be plenty of aid stations and the race support was very good. As mentioned by another poster, the course is kind of boring, but the weather plays a part in that, because when its cold and wet, you tend to put your head down and just kind of slog through it.
I'm running it again this year, hopefully with a much better finishing time.
