Well I registered for this race. Was still unsure of the out and back course, but why not. If I don't like I won't run it the following year. Plus it is an easy one for me to get to.

AC is my region :-( I did a lot of my training runs there last year. What others consider boring... They should run in my suburb sometime. THAT is boring haha.

My hope is that the casinos foot the bill for a lot of the clean up. In the meantime, my friends and I are signing up for sure. It's good to be prepared with your own fuel though - I usually bring my own Shot Bloks, but not my own water.

Boring - a consideration. Flat - not a problem for me. Hypothetical risk of event running out of food? I'd weigh that against what Atlantic City has just gone through and that fact that events like this help them (at least psychologically, and probably more tangibly as well) recover from the devastation.

If you're interested in the race and what to support AC and the region, then do it (and pack an extra protein bar in your checked bag for post-race fuelling).

Good point - especially since I'm slow!

I googled for reviews and found wide agreement that the course is boring. And because it's entirely flat, it's going to use the same exact muscles the entire time. Ugh. I'd skip it for those two reasons.

I also try to avoid avoid races that combine HMs with shorter distances as that can mean that they run short on food for the slower HMers but it's those first two reasons that are more serious to me.

Ah see I've done many training runs on the boardwalk in Ocean City, so I wouldn't mind that so much. I did hear of someone that did the AC Half though about a month ago and said the course was boring and hilly - through a tunnel and stuff. Glad to know you and your friend had no major complaints!

Considering this one, with a strong likelihood that I will be doing it. The email I got today says that the course was not affected. I did the 10K last year and it was all on the boardwalk, which I found a little boring. A friend of a friend did the HM and I don't recall him saying anything negative about it.

I am not doing this race but wish you and all the racers for this race the best especially with all that the area has been through!

Has anyone here done this race? I believe last year was the inaugural year. Was signed up to run last year, and ended up having to move that day. They've extended their registration discount this year due to the storm, and I'm so excited they don't think the damage is irreparable.
