Hi, I'm new to this team, I too, will be running two half marathons back to back. One May 20th and the next one June 2nd. The May 20th will be my first one ever. In reading your posts it sound like I have the right idea, and that is to make the May 20th more like a 'training run' rather than a 'race'. Heck just by finishing it I will have a PR, right?

Well I'm getting excited and any advice you care to give would be great.

hi Shawdow38!
we have a run on May 6th, and another on May 19th. Will probably take 2-3 days off for rest, use the marathon as my last long run... and continue with training program after the rest period. So if I rested til wed I would continue .... and end with my 4-6 mile runs before the last week of training til the next race. sounds like you have a good plan!!! goood luck!!

Marathondad and Mommarunner 77 - what does your training look like in between? I'm also running two HMs two weeks apart. One on May 19 and one on June 2. I figured I'd probably do a couple of easy short (3-4 mile) runs the week after my first HM with a long run of about 8 or so and then go into race week.

Just curious what you all have planned.

Neither real food, nor exercise, come from a box.

Marathondads' wife here! I love all this hardcore training, the training, the preparation leading up to race day!!! I am so happy to have a great support system, one hubby... we encourage each other, plus we are both so fortunate to have wonderful supportive parents who will help babysit so we can do our long runs together!!
