It has been 1 month since I made Lifetime at WW
and am still maintaining the loss.

I love buying the smaller size clothes also.

I don't know that this is really a brag but I'm excited nonetheless! My DH and I are buying the Bowflex for Christmas... I don't have the time to go to a gym and love to weight train so I can't wait to get it!

I walked 4 miles outside in 29 degrees weather.
I wore many layers.
It was a great walk!

What can you brag about today?
Be proud of the smallest step you achieve!

Thanks for your take on maintaining. I appreciate the time you took to explain it to me for my understanding. You are doing great and I hope to be able to do as well as you when I reach this point. I agree.. I like wearing size 10s much more than the 16-18s I was wearing. I'll do whatever necessary to make sure I don't ever get to that point again.

These are my personal experiences.

This time around is the first time I ever journaled consistenly.
After journaling consistenly for almost 5 years now , I can say it has become a habit.
I now like to journal and need it for accountability.

I also changed dramatically all my old habits into new healthy habits, and I'm still working on it consistenly.

The HARDEST thing to accept in maintenance is that in order to maintain I have to do everything I did to lose the weight: Exercise CONSISTENLY, eat very healthy foods, follow the WW 8 guidelines every day, jounal, drink my water...etc...
The only difference between losing the weight and maintaining is about 2 extra points a day!!!
It takes so long to build new healthy habits, and it takes a second for old bad habits to come back, if we let them.....

Once you accept the fact that it does take hard work to maintain, it will be easier to succeed.

I'm so willing to put in the hard work because of all the wonderful health benefits.
I also like much more wearing size 10 instead of size 20 clothes.

Let's celebrate when you reach MAINTENANCE.

Good luck

Mimi

Thanks Mimi. I'm almost to my maintenance stage and I'm getting nervous about it. It's taken me 6 months to lose the weight so far, and I don't want to gain any of it back. You've been doing very well at maintaining. Do you ever feel like you're just tired of journaling or is it so much of a routine that you couldn't imagine not doing it?

Congratulations on losing 44 pounds.
You're very close to your goal weight.
Maintenance means doing exactly what we did to lose the weight.....(...sigh...)

Best wishes

Great job maintaining Mimi! It's one of the hardest things to do while on vacation since we are out of our comfort zone and routine. I agree with the journaling. I took a notebook with me when I went in August and though I didn't know the points for everything, I did write down everything I ate. It really does help keep us in check.

I came back from vacation and I've maintained my weight.
What helps me the most is journaling every day.
It only takes 5 minutes of my time to journal every day and it keeps me in control.

I weighed myself this morning and weighed 135 on my scale but I had an exam today by a health care practitioner where they did a bunch of tests that also included my weight and I was 134 on their scale. woo hoo!!

Great idea! Can I brag that my son got a B in calculus? Anyways, I did my 60 minutes of strength training and 30 minutes of cardio even though I was tired and a little sore. Did not aggravate the soreness, I know better than that.
