Sandi,
There are many reasons why we choose to loose weight. Usually, the first motivation comes, as i did for you, from a desire to look good. Body image is so important and ingrained within us, and society only re-inforces this. Special events are also top of the list. Who wants to go to a class reunion, or wedding feeling like a blob of protoplasam? Our reasons will vary during the age and stages of our lives. You have come full circle. Having experienced what a healthier lifesytle can do to improve your well-being it has become motivation in and of itself.
The continued benefits witll keep that momentum going!emoticon

KARRYB1,
Losing those extra pounds is a great way to feel better about ourselves. As we take care of our bodies our inner beauty is allowed to manifest itself in ways we would never expect. We have more energy to do the things we would like, and are not embarrassed about things which appear to come so naturally to others. Being pyscially active goes hand in hand with losing the weight and improving your general well-being. You have made a decison. It is a great one, and acting upon it will lead to unexpected and fantastic things for you.
I wish you the best in your endeavors to a healthier, cleaner, and more active lifestyle.emoticon

You are a determined and strong individual. You touch many in a positive way.
You are one of a special group who know what they want from life, and do what it takes to achieve
their vision of who and what they want to be. Your determination to progress and lead a quality and purposeful life are some of the greatest motivators.
Keep doing what works for you and you will become and exceed your greatest expectations!

The day I made my Spark Page I wrote for my achievements to be Active, Healthier, and a Happier person. that was July 09. 86 pounds down and I am still striving today to become even more active, healthier, and to be a happier person.
My motivation, even today ..I think.. was the moment I knew what I had to do and the day I made up my mind to do something about it, and knowing what I have to do to keep it off. Becoming healthier and Happier in the process.

Speaking with many individuals and reading the articles on Spark (I may have even read a blog on this very topic. That being the case I would like to credit the authour and thank them for providing some important, yet often forgotten, truths) Sometimes as we get caught up in the details of our chosen journey, we forget why we began in the first place. We have learned much along the way, and we can enumerate many good reasons. However, our initial motivation may not seem very noble at this point. Perhaps we feel a bit silly. Whatever the reason may or might have been it is valid. It is my belief that it is worth considering on a regular basis:

Perhaps your initial motivation has changed: 1. If it has what changed
2.What do you believe was the impetus
